Lessons From Giving the Manna

What lessons can be learned from the giving of the manna? God connected the giving of manna with instructions about obeying His laws and commandments. We see explained the principle of Deuteronomy 8:3 "So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.

Herb Teitgen (1942-2020) served in the ministry of Jesus Christ for 35 years. Herb most recently pastored the UCG congregations in Fargo and Bismarck, North Dakota, and Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He lost his wife Anne in 2002 to liver cancer. They had two children and five grandchildren. He was a graduate of University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Ambassador College, Big Sandy. He served as a non-career elder in congregations in Kettle Falls, Washington, and Big Sandy, Texas. He served as a pastor in congregations in Los Angeles, California, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota and Manitoba. Herb enjoyed hiking and participation in music. He sang in festival choirs for decades and had been known to do an Elvis impersonation.
