Lessons From the Sardis Church

The speaker uses a humorous story about a monk who only uses his rare words to complain to warn against wasting our lives spiritually by drifting, compromising, or being “dead while we live.” He then contrasts the complacent Sardis attitude with the faithful, Philadelphia spirit, urging believers to strengthen what remains, hold fast tenaciously to the true gospel, stay spiritually awake like the wise virgins with oil, and rely on God’s Spirit to bear fruit, avoid fear, and endure faithfully to the end.
