Prior to our annual taking of the bread and wine at the Passover observance, we engage in an activity that one might consider too simple an exercise to hold a major spiritual lesson, too common a lead-in, and too short a "speed bump" toward that main observance. That activity is the foot washing. Rather than being just a precursor to the Passover, it is actually an integral part of it. The lessons are clear, awesome, and not as simple as one might first think. Today we will explore the life-impacting lessons illuminated through the unpretentious observance of the foot washing.

He and his wife Sue have two daughters and eight grandchildren.
