Life presents lots of interesting challenges. Frank Hays, a renowned horse trainer in the early 20th century, had big dreams of being a horse jockey but seemed to have missed his opportunity. Although he did have a gift in working with horses and preparing them for other younger, more experienced jockeys, it seemed he was beyond his prime. But Frank never gave up and he made it his mission to find a horse owner to take a risk on him as a jockey. Finally, an owner seeing his talent with horses, gave him a chance but with a mare, named Sweet Kiss, that was also past her prime. As a 20-to-1 underdog, Frank and Sweet Kiss entered the Steeplechase Race at Belmont Park where they won by more than a full length. What is even more inspirational about this story is the jockey, Frank, suffered a heart attack while Sweet Kiss made the final turn and died before crossing the finish line. Frank became the only dead man to win a horse race. Mr. Jones explains, through Paul's writings, that all of us find ourselves in a race that we are looking forward to taking part. A time when God's Kingdom will be established on this Earth and we will have a chance to be a part of God's spiritual family - a goal that many cannot imagine and will only be achieved if, like frank, we don't give up, we don't quit even if it seems like we will never make it.
