The background of the book of Isaiah helps us understand prophecies. Because the theme of Tomorrow is so prevalent in Isaiah's writing, it has been called the 'Book of Salvation.' Isaiah's name even means, 'Salvation is of the Lord,' or 'The Lord is Salvation. The basic theme: there is punishment for disobedience, AND the coming of The rescuer (Jesus Christ), as Salvation for the world.

Fred Crow is an elder with United Church of God; pastor of the Eureka and San Jose, California congregations. Fred retired from the aerospace industry in 2015. He has two daughters and eight grandchildren. He wrote a newspaper column, was a published cartoonist, taught scuba diving, and is a writer, photographer, and traveler.
