And going on now in verse 11, it says, Now all these things happen to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall. Because he knows that just like the Israelites left Egypt with a high hand, not all of them were faithful to the very end. And so that's what he is telling us as well. That we have to remain faithful. That's what the Book of Revelation shows. Let's go to Exodus chapter 13, just briefly highlighting here the first day of Unleavened Bread. God instituted this. Now, of course, He had it in mind way before. He promised Abraham that they would leave with a high hand. In Genesis 1, it mentions that God realigned the planets and the solar system so that they would be for signs and seasons. The term Moads has to do with feast days. So God even had it in mind, setting up the system so that we could keep feast days before He actually established them. So in Exodus chapter 13, verse 3, it says, And Moses said to the people, Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. For by strength of hand the Lord brought you out of this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten. Because this is the night of the 15th. This is a holy day to God. It says, On this day you are going out in the month of Abib, which means green corn or green spigs, because this was the beginning of the spring season.

And it shall be, when the Lord brings you into the land of Canaanites and the Hittites, which He swore to you, your fathers, to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month. So it's not something that was just to be done once, but through generations.

Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the Lord. Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days, and no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters. So of course we have to be conscious of not eating anything leaven during these seven days. And at the same time, we should have some unleavened bread to eat. Verse 8, And you shall tell your son in that day, saying, This is done because of what the Lord did for me when I came up from Egypt. It shall be a sign to you in your hand, and as a memorial between your eyes, that the Lord's law may be in your mouth. For with a strong hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt. You shall therefore keep this ordinance in its season from year to year. This is what we are doing. And of course Jesus Christ filled these feasts with even more spiritual meaning.

And so he was put away after the Passover, after he died, as sunset began, he was in the tomb. He was put away for sin. And for those days that were set up, three days and three nights of his resurrection, Wednesday night to Saturday night, 72 hours, that he said he would be in the grave. And so he was resurrected on that Saturday night, as Friday came to a close and he was resurrected. Some people say, well, what did he do that evening? Well, he was still subject to his father. He waited for all of these events, the stone, to be moved from the tomb. And all the guards had to flee. And then his disciples came and they saw the empty tomb. So what was he doing? He was subject to God the Father's will. He wasn't doing his own things.

Verse 8, it says, now there arose a new king over Egypt who did not know Joseph, because the other pharaohs had honored Joseph and the Israelites. But there was one here who, when he came on the throne, he did not honor the Israelites. And he said to his people, look, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we. Come, let us deal shrewdly with them, lest they multiply. And it happened in the event of war that they also join our enemies and fight against us and so go up out of the land.

Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with their burdens, and they built for pharaohs, supply cities, pithom, and ramesses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew, and they were in dread of the children of Israel. So the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor. There was oppression. Verse 21, it says, And so it was because the midwives feared God that he provided households for them.

So Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, Every son who is born, you shall cast into the river, and every daughter you shall save a lie. Well, here in Egypt, they were doing a similar thing. But God was with the Israelites, so the midwives were not obeying the Pharaoh. In Revelation 1, instead of the account of Israel's oppression, we have the account of the Church's oppression from this present evil world. See, this book of Revelation is to the Church. It's not to the world. The world doesn't understand it.

Notice in chapter 1, verse 1, it says, The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants. It's not for the world. Things which must shortly take place. And he sent and signified it by his angel to his servant John, who bore witness to the Word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ to all things that he saw. And so, the Apostle John was a faithful witness to the Word of God. He preached God's Word in truth, and also, it says, to the testimony of Jesus Christ.

He was a faithful witness of Jesus Christ and what Jesus Christ taught and how he lived. Well, he ended up in prison and exiled to the island of Patmos because of this. Notice what he says here, verse 9, I John, both the brother and companion and tribulation and the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos, for the Word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

So, he was not going to deny Jesus Christ. He was going to be a faithful witness to it. Then, the second parallel, Exodus 2, verse 23, you can keep a finger here in the book of Exodus. You can go back and forth. Verse 23 of Exodus, we see Israel at the end of Egypt's oppression. How bad it got. Now, it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died, then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out. And their cry came up to God because of the bondage. So, God heard their groanings, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

And God looked upon the children of Israel, and God acknowledged them. So, God decides to act at a certain time. And he is the one that establishes when and how he does it. And there was a prophecy that he had given in Genesis 15 that there would be this 400 years, four generations or so that would be 400 years, he mentioned, until that time.

And so, this is when God acts, just like he will act when the time comes during the end times.

In Revelation 2 and 3, you don't have to turn there, but it has to do with the message to the seven churches that were under the pastoral care of the Apostle John. John was in Ephesus at that time, pastoring these churches, and then he was exiled to the island of Patmos. So, he sent this circular letter to these seven churches, which also symbolized our personal life before God.

We have to maintain the fire, or we can end up being of a different church, a Laodicean church, the lukewarm church, or maybe the Sardis church, the forgetful church, or maybe the Thyatira church, which is the one that mixes with the world, with Jezebel, and there's a lot of compromising going on.

So, personally, we can apply the message. Also, collectively, as a church, we can become a different attitude of these churches. We can end up being a Laodicean church, or we can become the Philadelphian church, faithfully carrying out God's work, or we can end up at the compromising church, again, the Thyatira, or the Sardis church, which starts losing many of God's truths through time, and it just becomes almost, well, lackadaisical. And so, just like Israel at the end of Egypt's oppression, so the church would eventually end at a period of time where God is going to intervene in these world events.

The third parallel, Exodus 3, verse 9 through 12, it says, It says, It goes on in verse 9, and he says, Of course, Moses being humble, he didn't think he was up for the job, he says, So he said, And so God calls Moses as the liberator. Just like in the book of Revelation, Christ is the liberator, and Christ will have two faithful witnesses to carry out his will in the end time.

Notice again, Revelation 4, it talks about Jesus Christ being the lion of Judah, the one who is worthy to open up the seals to carry out God's will. And then, chapter 5, verse 9 and 10, it talks about Christ carrying out God's will in the end times, and that he will make his people become kings and priests and reign upon the earth. And of course, that doesn't mean just everybody in the church is going to be that way. God knows the people's hearts. Who are the ones that have done their part? And we know throughout the two thousand years virtually of church history, there have been faithful people that have died in the faith, and that will be worthy of reigning under Christ. And so, just because we're in the church doesn't mean we're going to have this position. We have to do our part, because not everything is of the faith. God is the one that looks at the heart. He knows how everybody is inside.

And then the fourth parallel, Exodus 4, verse 21, it says, And the Lord said to Moses, When you go back to Egypt, see that you do all these wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in your hand, but I will harden his heart, so that he will not let the people go. Then you shall say to Pharaoh, Thus says the LORD, Israel is my son, my firstborn. So I say to you, Let my son go, that he may serve me. But if you refuse to let him go, indeed I will kill your son, your firstborn. So here we begin to see God intervening. And Israel's twelve tribes will be protected by God. He's saying, Let my people go, just like in the end times. He's going to talk to those that are going to persecute the church, and he says, You better let them go. You better not touch them, because they are my firstborn. They are my church, and you are not to afflict them.

In Revelation 7, verse 1, remember to keep a finger here in Exodus, because we're going to go back and forth. Revelation 7, verse 1, says, After these things I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, the sea, or on any tree. So here there is a halt or a pause before events happen in this world. And why does God pause at this moment? We read in verse 2, Then I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God, and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels to whom it was granted, to harm the earth and the sea. So we see these winds are symbolic. The curses, the punishment that is going to come upon the earth, and saying, Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads. And I heard a number of those who were sealed, 144,000 of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed. Now we can understand a little better the symbolism here, because just like we have a physical Israel in the Old Testament that were protected during the Exodus, here we're talking about the spiritual Israel. The people that have been following God, obeying His commandments, they have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Some people think, well, these are just Jews that are going to be protected. Well, that's not proper, because it mentions here that they do accept Jesus Christ, and that they are faithful. We'll read a little more about this in Chapter 14. But it is talking about God's faithful people that will be protected, just like the Israelites were protected from the plagues of Egypt. Notice in the fifth parallel.

Exodus 7, verse 1, it says, In other words, powerful.

And Aaron, your brother, shall be your prophet. You shall speak all that I command you, and Aaron, your brother, shall tell Pharaoh to send the children of Israel out of this land. And I will harden Pharaoh's heart and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. But Pharaoh will not heed you, so that I may lay my hand on Egypt and bring my armies and my people and the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by great judgments or great interventions by God's part.

And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, just like the world will one day know who is the true God.

When I stretch out my hand on Egypt and bring out the children of Israel from among them.

So Moses and Aaron are the ones who are doing the principal miracles. Notice here, verse 9, when Pharaoh speaks to you saying, Show a miracle for yourselves. Then you shall say to Aaron, Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh and let it become a serpent. So Moses and Aaron went into Pharaoh, and they did so just as the Lord commanded. And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh and before his servants, and it became a serpent. But Pharaoh, also called the wise men and the sorcerers, so the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments, being led by Satan the devil.

They could do similar things.

Now, it's interesting just back from archaeology, they have found that some of these magicians could actually touch a serpent, and it would become sort of paralyzed. And they could touch them behind the neck again, and they would go back to normal. So we don't know how these miracles were carried out, but it does say that they were able to simulate what Aaron just did. It says, verse 12, For every man threw down his rod, and they became serpents. But Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. So it was much more powerful. Aaron's serpent. And Pharaoh's heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, as the Lord had said. Well, let's go to Revelation 11, verses 3 and 4, to find out that just like we have Moses and Aaron in those days of the Exodus, so we're going to have two witnesses that are going to be part of the church. They're going to represent the church before the world, and they will be making miracles, but also the beast and the false prophet, which are symbolic or kind of representative of the Egyptians, Pharaoh and the Egyptians. They will also do miracles. Notice Revelation 11, verse 3. It says, And I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in sackcloth. Three and a half years they will be doing this. Continuing on, it says, These are the two olive trees. The Bible talks about the olive oil being symbolic of God's Spirit. These are two spirit-filled individuals, and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. They have God's Holy Spirit, and they shed God's light upon the earth, the light of truth.

And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouths and devours their enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner. So they, with their commands, can bring fire from heaven. So the two witnesses are the principal leaders doing miracles in the end times. The seventh parallel, Exodus 7, verse 14, It says, So the Lord said to Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hard, he refuses to let the people go. Till the end time, the beast and the false prophet are not going to want to allow the church to leave as well. In chapter 9, verse 6, it says, So the Lord did this thing on the next day, and all the livestock of Egypt died. But of the livestock of the children of Israel, not one died. So when God intervenes, we start seeing the protection of God's people. There are miracles from both parts, but here we see that God's people are being protected from the plagues that are falling on Egypt. At the same time, God's people are also going to be protected. Let's see here. I did cover point number 6, didn't I? I didn't skip over that. Is it a 7 or 8? Yes, that's fine. We're number 7. Let's go on to chapter 9, verse 25 and 26. One by God's people and the other one by the false system. The false prophet is going to also make miracles that are going to deceive people in the end time. Now continuing on here in the seventh point, Revelation 14, 1, it says, Remember in Revelation 7, it mentioned about sealing them and having that seal on their foreheads. Here we have them again.

In verse 4, it says, These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. This is symbolically talking about not being contaminated. The Bible talks about the church being a type of a virgin. Again, this is symbolic language. Notice, though, what it means. It explains it. It says, These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fall before the throne of God. So they have accepted Jesus Christ as their sacrifice. And again, this is not talking about Jewish people.

This is talking about God's people, the spiritual Israel that have been redeemed by God. Notice in verse 9, It says, It says, Verse 11, Talk about them being burnt up one day, and it's just going to be the smoke of what they suffered. And they have no rest or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints. Here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. So again, the contrast. Those are God's people that are protected, and they are going to be with Jesus Christ.

Got one more scripture in chapter 16, verse 2.

It says, So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth, talking about these plagues, the seven plagues, And a fowl and loathsome sore came upon the men who had the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image.

So again, it's a separation. It's not a plague to harm God's people.

It's a plague that is going to be upon those that follow the wrong religious system.

And so we see the Exodus and the Old Testament, and we see the Exodus in the book of Revelation about God's people going through this.

Let's continue on in the ninth...let's see here...the eighth parallel, Exodus 12, verse 21.

We just celebrated the Passover. By the way, what does the word Passover mean? The word means Pass Over, because that's what the death angel did. It passed over the homes, so when we keep Passover, we should remember that it's God's wrath passing over us.

We are protected from God's wrath. In Exodus 12, verse 21, It says, And again, that term, a morning, used throughout the Bible, talks about when day begins, daylight begins.

You don't want to be outside your homes before then.

For the Lord will pass through to strike the Egyptians, and when he sees the blood on the lentil and on the two-door posts, the Lord will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.

And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever.

So we see that Israel wins through the symbol of the Lamb's blood.

What do we see in Revelation? The church wins through the blood of Christ, the Lamb. In Revelation 11.8, it says, Talking about here those that are about Jerusalem becoming like an Egypt to God, and their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

That's Jerusalem. But because the abomination of the Desonate Nation takes place there, the whole city becomes unholy to God.

In the ninth parallel, Exodus 13, 3-5, And so Israel flees to a place of safety, which is the site of the Sinai Desert. It would be there for 40 years. And the church also is going to flee to a place of safety, a place in a wilderness that God is going to protect his own. Notice Revelation 12.

In verse 13, it says, Just like Israel went into the wilderness, the church will go to a place there, it says, It doesn't talk about multiple places, but to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time from the presence of the serpent.

So she's going to be protected.

Continuing on, the 10th parallel, Exodus 14, 21-23, And so this happened, just as it mentions here, that by God's power, Israel crosses the Red Sea to safety.

And what is the parallel in Revelation? It's Revelation 12, verse 15.

When the church goes to the place, Satan is not going to be satisfied. He's going to persecute the church, just as Pharaoh persecuted the Israelites.

But it's not going to be the parting of a Red Sea. It's actually going to be the parting of land, dry land that is going to open up.

Notice verse 15. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood.

And in Revelation 17, it talks about water being like many peoples.

So this is talking about kind of an army that goes after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood, which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.

So again, a tremendous miracle is going to happen. But we're going to need to have faith to be able to carry this out, because we're not going to be with weapons.

This is going to be something that the church is going to be persecuted in the future. So the 11th parallel, the Pharaoh's army, persecutes the church, that persecutes Israel, but perishes.

And we saw, we just read, the beast's army is swallowed up by the earth, here in verse 16.

The 12th parallel, Exodus 14, the Pharaoh is defeated, but Egypt is unrepentant.

They're not going to learn their lesson, even with all these miracles that God is carrying out.

And in Revelation 12, 17, they're going to continue.

Although the church goes to its place of protection, Satan is not going to give up. The beast and the false prophet are going to continue to persecute those that were not in that area, that were in the place of safety.

Notice in verse 17, And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring.

So this identifies who the woman is, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. And from what I know, we haven't changed those Ten Commandments from those days to today.

And the fourth commandment is to honor the Sabbath day.

In Leviticus 23, God says, these are my Sabbaths.

And also, it's talking about the annual Sabbath days.

This is an annual Sabbath day. This is a day of rest for God's people.

And it's, by extension, part of the fourth commandment. So these are people that are keeping God's commandments to this time.

Then, the thirteenth parallel, Exodus 15.1, it says, Then Moses and the children of Israel sang this song to the LORD, and spoke, saying, I will sing to the LORD.

For he has triumphed gloriously.

The horse and its rider he has thrown into the sea. The LORD is my strength and song. So they sing a victory song.

In Revelation 15.3, notice the parallel. It says, Then they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvelous are your works.

Aren't you going to feel inspired by all those miracles that you're going to see? We're going to sing with triumph, too, when God protects his people.

Forty years, they would be tested in the desert. Exodus 16.4-6, you can read that. In Revelation 13.5, the church's last time of trial, three and a half years, notice Revelation 13.5, it says, And he was given a mouth to speak great things, and to blaspheme, and he was given authority to continue for forty-two months. Again, it's three and a half year period that Satan will give power to the beast and the false prophet. It's very interesting, I was reading Unger's Bible Handbook, which was written in the 1960s. And even a man like that, who studied the Bible quite a bit, he mentions that in this section of Revelation, he says the church is going to be protected, that this is all going to happen.

And he talks about a ten-nation federation in Europe that is going to carry these things out. Now, of course, just because you have ten heads doesn't mean you have to have ten countries. You can have one head that represents a whole region. But there are, he talks about a federation of ten kings that are going to be in charge of this group. And that's happening. This is like fifty years since he wrote that, and we've been talking about the same thing.

So, let's go to the next. The 15th, Exodus 16, 12, Deuteronomy 29, 5, it talks about Israel receiving manna, water, and the clothing doesn't age. In Revelation 12, 14, it says that the church will be nourished during that time of protection. Notice, it says here in verse 14, But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle. So, this talks about flight, that people are not going to walk to this place. They are going to be given the ability. We don't know if it's going to be by airplanes that God is going to provide, or just transport people, as he did, Philip, from one place to the other.

But whatever way it's going to be, that they might fly into the wilderness to her place where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time. I'm very happy it says she will be nourished. That means we don't have to go to Costco and try to provide everything for three and a half years. God is going to provide. Probably there will be manna, there will be quails, there will be water, because it says she's going to be nourished for three and a half years.

Probably the clothes are not going to wear away, just as it tells us here in Deuteronomy 29.5. During that period of time, 40 years, there are clothes that were miraculously preserved. So make sure you get some good blue jeans or something when you go. I don't know what kind of clothing, but God says He will provide. The 16th parallel, Israel receives the Ten Commandments to keep at Mount Sinai, and the Church faithfully keeps the commandments in the letter and spirit, and bears faithful witness to Christ.

Then we have the parallels 17 and 18. Exodus through Joshua, God defeats Israel's foes, as in Revelation 19-19, when Jesus Christ comes back, He defeats all the foes. Finally, the 18th parallel, God gives the Promised Land to His people, and Revelation 24, Jesus Christ comes back, He reigns upon this earth for a thousand years, and those that were faithful will reign under Jesus Christ.

Just like Israel reigned over the land of Canaan, so it says now it's the whole earth under Jesus Christ that we will have an opportunity. In 2 Peter 1, it talks about the marvelous promises that God has given us. Again, hope is the destiny, love is the attitude, and faith is the walk.

We have to be faithful to the end. 2 Peter 3, verses 10 and 14, reminds us that, just like these days of Unleavened Bread, with the children of Israel leaving Egypt, so we also have to leave the spiritual world, Egypt and this world, for those seven days. We look forward to those days when righteousness will reign on this earth. It talks about that God has a plan to one day purify this earth of all the filth, of all the impurity, and that righteousness will dwell. That's the symbol of the days of Unleavened Bread, of righteousness one day, reigning upon this earth. So let's keep these seven days, not only physically, but remember that we are spiritual Israel. And let's be faithful to the end.

 PARALLELS BETWEEN THE ISRAELITES’ EXODUS & THE CHURCH’S EXODUS

Note the clear parallels between the Exodus from Egypt & the Church’s final end-time Exodus.

1 Cor. 10:1-13 - What happened to the Israelites are examples for us. DUB not only in the past.

Revelation, just as Exodus, mentions flight, plagues, Jerusalem as Egypt & the song of Moses.

Let’s go over these parallels that apply in a personal, collective (as a Church) & prophetic way.

Ex. 1:8-13, 21-22 – Account of Israel’s oppression.

Rev. 1 – Account of the Church’s oppression from this present evil world.

Ex. 2:23-25 - Israel at end of Egypt’s oppression.

Rev. 2-3 - Stages of the Church until the end of this world’s oppression when God acts.

Ex. 3:9-12 - God calls Moses as liberator.

Rev. 4, 5:9-10, 12 – Christ is the liberator.

Ex. 4:21-23 - Israel’s 12 tribes will be protected by God.

Rev. 7:1-4 – Church as the 12 spiritual tribes of Israel that will be protected.

Ex. 7:1-5 – Moses & Aaron are the principal leaders doing miracles.

Rev. 11:3-4 -- Two witnesses as principal leaders doing miracles in the end times.

Ex. 7:8-13, 22 - Moses, Aaron vs. Pharaoh, magicians - miracles by both parts.

Rev. 11:5-6; 13:13 Two witnesses vs. Beast, false prophet, miracles done by both parts.

Ex. 7:14; 9:6-7; 9:25-26 - 10 plagues but they don’t touch Israel.

Rev. 14:1, 9-12, 16:2 -  7 last plagues, but

don’t touch the Church.

Rev 11:8; 12:5, 17 - Church wins through

the lamb – Christ. Jerusalem called Egypt.
