The Path to Wisdom

What is the path to wisdom? What is more important? A high I.Q., or a high "I will" factor? God inspires Paul to write "For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called" (1 Corinthians 1:26). In Proverbs 3:35 we are told; "The wise shall inherit glory..." Listen to this sermon and find out what "The Path to Wisdom" is, and how to walk that path.

(Pro 1:7)  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction.
(Dan 12:4)  "But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."
(Mat 13:16)  But blessed are your eyes for they see, and your ears for they hear;
(Mat 13:17)  for assuredly, I say to you that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
(Pro 2:1)  My son, if you receive my words, And treasure my commands within you,
(Pro 2:2)  So that you incline your ear to wisdom, And apply your heart to understanding;
(Pro 19:25)  Strike a scoffer, and the simple will become wary; Rebuke one who has understanding, and he will discern knowledge (See Matthew 18:15-20).

(Pro 4:7)  Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.
(Jas 1:22)  But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
(Jas 1:23)  For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
(Jas 1:24)  for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.
(Jas 1:25)  But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
(Rom 2:13)  (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified;
(Pro 12:18)  There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health.
(Pro 13:14)  The law of the wise is a fountain of life, To turn one away from the snares of death.
(Pro 14:1)  The wise woman builds her house, But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.
(Pro 15:7)  The lips of the wise disperse knowledge, But the heart of the fool does not do so.
(Pro 16:21)  The wise in heart will be called prudent, And sweetness of the lips increases learning.
(Jas 3:17)  But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
(1Co 2:1)  And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God.
(1Co 2:2)  For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
(1Co 2:3)  I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.
(1Co 2:4)  And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
(Job 32:8)  But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
(Joh 14:25)  "These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
(Joh 14:26)  But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
(Act 2:36)  "Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ."
(Act 2:37)  Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Men and brethren, what shall we do?"
(Act 2:38)  Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
(Act 2:39)  For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call."
(Rom 8:14)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
(Rom 8:15)  For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."
(Rom 8:16)  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
(Rom 8:17)  and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
