The Power of God's Spirit

After Christ's Resurrection, Jesus told the Apostles that they should remain in Jerusalem and that they would receive power when the Holy spirit would come upon them (Acts 1:8). That power was manifest in a miraculous way on the Day of Pentecost, just shortly after these statements were made (Acts 2:1-4). The same power that came upon those gathered on the Feast of Pentecost nearly 2,000 years ago, is available to those called the children of God today - that is the Church of God. How is that power manifest in our lives today? It may not be in the same way that we read in Acts 2, but if we are being led by God's spirit, that power should be evident in our lives.
