Prayer and Fasting “Power Tools” for Such a Time as This

We have recently observed that many brethren are being bombarded with an increasingly large number of fiery trials. It seems that many of Christ's “little flock” of “called, chosen and faithful” brethren are suffering “for righteousness’ sake" --- and often due to fiery darts unleashed by Satan (like what happened to Job). At such a time as this, we have available for use the spiritual "power tools" of prayer and fasting (as mentioned in Matthew 17:21 and Mark 9:29). If we --- in faith --- use these power tools to beseech God for deliverance from Satan's fiery darts, we (individually and collectively) can be assured of God's intervention as promised in 2 Chronicles 7:12-15. This message will study the following two biblically recorded examples of how God miraculously intervened for His people when they humbly beseeched Him for deliverance in prayer --- often coupled with fasting: (1) Righteous King Hezekiah when he prayed for the deliverance of Jerusalem from threatened conquest by Assyria (around 700 BC); and Righteous Queen Esther (and the Jews still living in Persia) when she and the Jews fasted for their deliverance from a planned genocide (around 473 BC). Let us determine to also use these spiritual "power tools" of humble prayer and fasting for deliverance --- while always keeping in mind 1 John 4:4 "… He [God] who is in you is [infinitely] greater than he who is in the world."
