An iconic line from the movie "Cool Man Luke" is "What we've got here is failure to communicate." Today we use many devices (including cell phones and smart phones) to communicate with others, to the point of sometimes it becoming an obsession. We often feel uncomfortable if we become unable to communicate with others so as to maintain our relationships. Far more important than any other communication we can have is relationship-building prayer to God. is priority number one for building a relationship with God.

Fred Crow is an elder with United Church of God; pastor of the Eureka and San Jose, California congregations. Fred retired from the aerospace industry in 2015. He has two daughters and eight grandchildren. He wrote a newspaper column, was a published cartoonist, taught scuba diving, and is a writer, photographer, and traveler.
