The Sabbath Day, Christ and the New Testament

In our fundamental belief on the Sabbath Day, we will put the focus on the New Testament as a whole and some statements made by Jesus Christ. What we discover is that Christ never contradicted the command to keep the Sabbath. What we do find is Christ keeping the Sabbath by teaching. The Bible specifically states it was His custom. The fact that the New Testament church, oftentimes comprised of Gentiles, was taught to keep the same standard for the Sabbath is a testament that we should still respect and honor God's command about the Sabbath that began in the book of Genesis.

Joshua Creech along with his wife Lizzy live in central Indiana. He serves as Pastor for the United Church of God congregations in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, Indiana. Joshua worked for 9 years as a Senior Financial Accountant for Western and Southern Financial Group. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northern Kentucky University. Joshua and Lizzy have four children.
