The Sabbath Day, Origins and Old Testament

The Sabbath was not only set apart for Israel, but it is a day of rest for all of humanity. Through the Bible, we discover that the Sabbath wasn't connected to us through any other covenants, but was established at the end of the creation cycle. Even though we are not given an hour-by-hour outline of what the Sabbath day should look like, we need to dedicate time to evaluate the importance placed on the day as it appears in the Old Testament.
