Seven times in the Book of John, Jesus uttered the phrase, "I am," and went on to describe Himself. This phrase leads to defining who Jesus is as opposed to 'was' or 'will be'. The better we understand who Jesus is, the better we can respond to His statement, "If you love Me, keep My commandments."
