The Sower and the Soil

Getting the dirt on the parable of the sower: there are four types of dirt. Hard-packed dirt, shallow dirt on rocks, dirt which is full of weeds and thorns, and good, rich, fertile soil. What type of dirt are we and what can we do about it?
