Brethren, when you look at a tiny little young newborn baby, and you see that little baby first just feeding completely incapable of doing anything else, but just basically just having a new strength, it's simple, you think that God's given that baby your breastfeeding, but then you see them learning little things like learning how to look at things, and everything goes into the mouth, and touch things, and start to crawl, and start to respond, and recognize people, and it's just miraculous how it happens. It really is a blessing, and it is miraculously. And that young man is just like a sponge, you know?
Maybe the word sponge is the wrong word, but it really is amazing. It's just absorbing and burning. And next one, think what makes man different. Because you see animals, some animals just the moment they born, tick tick, they kind of stretch their legs, bang, they stand up, and they can do basically what they've been programmed to, or written, the way God put the new thing for them to do. There's a booklet that the church has called The Nation or Evolution. I've just finished translating it, and we busy kind of published it into Portuguese recently. But it was fascinating me reading it, because it shows the things about what some of the animals do, but it's fascinating.
And if you haven't read it, please read it, because it really is amazing. There's some animals, for instance, there's one type of bird that is born somewhere in northern Germany, migrates to Africa during summer and then back to Germany. The interesting thing is, after they give birth to the babies, they fly to Africa and leave the babies by themselves. And in three weeks later, the babies by themselves, when they've got enough energy to fly, they fly to exactly where the parents are elsewhere in Africa to join the parents. How do they know? That is amazing how God does these things.
And then, it's just amazing. And you read that, there's so many other amazing things that animals do that God just put in there, really to baffle scientists. Because if you really want to look at it, it says, wow, it has to be a God. But anyway, what makes man different? You know, you and I, we can appreciate music, we can appreciate literature, we can read a book. Many of us have seen an animal sit down and read a book, you know, not much.
But we can sit and appreciate, we can study, we can analyze, we can reason. We can make things, we can make a car, we can improve on things, we can make computers, we can create art, we can do drawings. And as we do drawings and artistic things, we become better with those things. And it's not by instinct, we learn.
It's an amazing thing that we have. And so, why are we the way we are? Why, after all, are we right here? What is the purpose of us living? What makes us different? So today, brethren, I want to talk to you briefly what the Bible says about the human mind and what makes us different from animals.
Why are we here? But looking at it from one point, so what? Looking from the point is, why this? And the reason ties in very nicely into the Seminent. Because in the Seminent, we heard about empathy. And the empathy, as we heard, it said, it's a question of building relationships by spending time. One of the definitions I wrote down was like that.
And the reason why we have the spirit of man, besides many other reasons, one of them is so that we can have a relationship with God. And obviously, a relationship with one another. And so, that involves all these other emotions of sympathy and compassion and empathy and all the other things, but to have that relationship with God. So, to look at that, let's start at the very beginning in Genesis chapter 1.
In Genesis chapter 1, in verse 26, we read, Then God said, Let us make man in our image according to our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fascians, over the birds, and over the cattle, you know, every creepy thing. Like God as dominion, God has given man dominion as well. But he created man in God's image and in God's likeness. Why? It came so that you and I can have a relationship with him.
Now, how is that possible? Because man was made out of the dust of the earth. Correct, but not just out of the dust of the earth. Let's look in Genesis chapter 2, verse 7. Genesis chapter 2, verse 7, it says, And the Lord God formed a man of the dust of the ground. Yes, to play and shape them. A master craftsman made man out of the dust of the ground.
And then it goes on in verse 7, And breathed into his nostrils the breath of life. God went into Adam, and it's like CPR, and breathed the breath of life. In other words, the Bible describes that in other places, which we'll see a little later.
God breathed into man the spirit of man, which is in the man. That's the breath of life. God breathed into him what makes a man love. And man became a living being. And man at that moment became a living being. Now, this is interesting because the word living being in Hebrew is an afesh, as you've probably heard many times. It's an afesh, which in some Bible versions is translated as, and man became a soul, a living soul. But it's a living being. But it's the same word that is used just in the previous chapter in chapter 1 verse 21, when it says, God made sea creatures and every living thing.
The word in Hebrew, therefore, every living thing is an afesh. In other words, a soul. They became a living thing. They became a living being. They became a living soul. And then look at it again in verse 24, which says, and God said, let the earth bring forth the living creature, an afesh, that living being, according to its kind, cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to its kind. Now, I'm just going to sidetrack here very briefly and quote again from that booklet, Creation or Evolution, that Afesh is translating. There they talk about genes and things like that and DNA. And it says, when there is a deviation from the kind that kind of, in a sense, like mutates in a body or an image, it usually is weaker and defective.
And that dies out. And the one that survives is the one that is healthy. And it gets back to its kind.
That's just amazing, you know, and I'm sorry, so I just deviated there on that point, but I thought it's really interesting. But continuing with the point that I'm saying is, in verse 20, 24 there, it's talking about Mephesh. And when we read, man became a living being. Man became an afesh. Man became a soul. In other words, not that man has a soul, but man became a soul. You see, the Walter Dye talks about, oh, people have a soul. No, you do not have a soul. You have become a soul. In other words, you do not have a living being inside you. You have become a living being. That's really putting it simply what it means. So as we look, for instance, at the human body and at the brain, the brain in what they call higher vertebrates in the animal kingdom, it's basically the same form, the same design, the same constituency as a man's brain.
So there's basically no real difference between the brain of some large animals like whatever they might be and man as far as the form, the design, the constituency. In fact, brains of whales and elephants and dolphins are larger than a human brain.
So in a sense, if it was purely size, then it would be far more intelligent than human beings.
But it's not. What makes the difference is this breath of life that God has given to man, that is given man, that special power of intellect, the power of the mind to the brain.
It gives that power to the mind. It's not a soul because this breath of man does not have any consciousness apart from the brain.
Because the brain learns through the five senses, for instance. I see through the eye and the eye sends certain impulses to the brain and the brain sees through that.
I taste through the mouth. It's it. The five senses is how the brain gathers information.
And the brain in the body, in the human body, plus the breath of life, which is the spirit of man and man, makes us a living creature, makes us a soul, a living soul. And thus, it's supported if we look at the New Testament in 1 Corinthians chapter 2. 1 Corinthians chapter 2. Just going to read a section of this verse. We will read additional in this section later on, but at the moment I just want to touch on 1 Corinthians chapter 2 verse 11. The first part where he says, for what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? 1 Corinthians 2 verse 11. In other words, how do we know the things of a man? We know the things of a man because of the spirit of man that God's given us, that breath of life that is given to us, that life that is now carried from Adam down from one generation to another generation. It's God briefeth into Adam, and that's been carried through genetically somehow. It's been carried through to us.
That life that actually starts right getting a woman, but it's already there. It's been carried from all the way from Adam. It's God given to us. So, how do we understand the things that a human being understands? What makes the brain able to understand the things that a human being understands? What is the power that makes that brain gossip? It's that breath of life, that spirit of man in man. The animals don't have. They have the brain, but they have a different program, pre-programmed instinct to do certain things the way they program. They still think because they've got the brain. The brain is the... think about the computer, the processing power.
The instinct is the program in it, in simple analogy. You see, with the power of intellect in the mind, you know, what's the spirit of man in man?
We can know the things of man, and therefore we can reason. We can think. We can study. We can go to school. We can make decisions, but we can ask questions, and we can prove that God exists.
We can prove that God exists. Just type that book, creation, evolution, that... and use that as a Bible study guide, and see some of the miracles that God has done in the animal kingdom, and he says, that is amazing. That's what you've got. The more you study about DNA and the way that there's no such thing as a simple cell. This is the simplest cell. It's in that book. It's amazing, you know, material that they've researched, putting it. The simplest cell. If you take the simplest cell that exists in the human... in any being, in any living form, and you may have the size of Cincinnati, or New York, or wherever it is, then you would see highways and complex highways in there, because the content of knowledge, it's the size, it's so complex that it would be as complex a whole big town like New York, or Cincinnati, or whatever it is. Just enormous that size, and so complex inside that simple cell. Just amazing. That's just a cell, and there are millions and millions of types of cells, and they're all complex in their own way. It's just unbelievable. But it's the human spirit in those cells, in the brain, that God put it in such a way that can make us have a relationship with Him. That can make us be able to prove that God exists, prove that the Bible is true, and therefore we are through that, is able to reveal to us His truth. And because we have the spirit of man in man, we can actually understand that. We can then therefore submit to Him.
We can be teachable, and we can obey, or, or not. We have a choice. This spirit of man in man is like a spiritual memory bank. Now, it's a memory bank that has got our personality, our being, what we are. Put it in other ways. For those that are a little older, it's like a cassette in a cassette that saves all their information there. For those that are a little younger, it's like an mp3 drive with all that information in there. All the information stored in there.
So, it's got our personality, our likes and our dislikes, what are the life experiences, and all that. Sure, we can keep some of that in our physical brain, but it's like a backup. A permanent, eternal backup whilst God keeps that spirit, because he can kill it, as we will see later on. He can kill that spirit. He can destroy it. So, it's a backup of that information, of what we are. In other words, knows the things of a man. It doesn't compute, doesn't think the computer, the arithmetic and logic unit, you know, where all the chunking is done and thinking and processing, is a brain. But it is the programming around that. And the spirit just kind of saves that program code and saves all that information. If you and I only had a brain, besides all the other things that we would not be able to do, just the brain, because it's like having a computer without a program. Imagine having a computer without a program. You would not be able to do much. So, yeah is the point. If we had just the brain, we could not interact with God.
And God could not inject into the brain the spiritual truths of the Bible. And because of that, there would be no quote-unquote hook for us to have God's Holy Spirit.
Because it's the human brain with the human spirit, the good thinking, the human brain, the human spirit, the mind. And because it's got that spiritual content, it can unite with God's Holy Spirit to form a full being. You see, in the sense we are incomplete.
That's why a lot of people without God's Holy Spirit feel incomplete, feel discouraged, feel down. Because we are lacking that missing component. We are incomplete. And God's Spirit is what completes us. And the more we please and obey God and we do the things, the more we are doing what we were designed for. And therefore, the happier we are. But yes, a danger. Yes, a danger.
You see, the human spirit makes it possible for us to have a direct contact and relationship to create the God. So think about it. It's like an antenna or an aerial that can receive God's wavelengths. But likewise, it can receive other transmitting stations' wavelengths, such like those of Satan. And so, Satan is a spirit. And he can also inject into our minds wrong thoughts, wrong ideas. And we've got to be careful that we don't know about that, because it can happen. So here we have two key important points about the spirit of man in man. First, it imports the power of intellect to the human brain so the human brain can think.
And secondly, it opens a channel of direct communication with the very mind of the great God.
It opens a channel of communication with the great mind of the great God, the spirit of God.
The human spirit, therefore, as a power or as a capability, let's put it this way, for us to be united with God, to be at one with God, so that you and I may be begotten of God.
By God's only spirit, united with our human spirit in our minds. And thus, in the name of God, and thus, in pregnanting the human person as a true child of God.
Now, it's important to once again note the human spirit is not a soul. It is the breath of God.
Because the soul is the living being. And you can read in Ezekiel 18 verse 4 and 20. I'm not going to go there. You probably know as well, rehearsed in the church. But please, if you have not seen, make a note and go there and read it. It says, the soul that sins, it shall die.
So there's no such thing as an immortal soul. Because the soul that sins, it shall die. It says twice there, Ezekiel 18 verse 4 and 20. So the soul can die. And now Christ said the same thing. Do you know that? Well, that you might not know. You might not remember like this. So let's look at that, which is in Matthew 10 verse 28. Matthew 10 verse 28.
And Christ is teaching and he says, do not fear those who killed the body but cannot kill the soul.
And people think, oh, oh, they're bored. They can't kill the soul. It's an immortal. No, it's not. Because he's saying, fear those who can kill the body but can't kill the soul. In other words, when a person kills another person, it kills that body. It kills that living life but has not killed the potential of that life living again.
Because that life, the characteristics, the personality, etc., has been recorded in that spirit, has been backed up. When a person dies, God holds that. God can bring you a different body and put that spirit into a new body and becomes a new living soul. But it's the same person.
Just as a brand new model. It's like you take your cassette, record it from an old cassette type, from an old type machine. And you bought this brand new type machine that you really like. It's got fancy digits, budgets, and digits, and things like that. And you just put that type into there, or that CD into it, and voila! You got the same music as you had in all that drive.
But now you have it in a new body. But it's still the same music, personality, the same person.
That human beings, when they kill the body, they don't kill the full potential of that person being able to live again. That's what it's saying. Because God can bring that body back to life.
He can take that recording, which man can't destroy because it's spiritual, and put it back into a new body. And voila! There's a person. Same person, just a brand new, healthy, strong, not an 80-year-old body, but a nice 20-year-old healthy body, full of energy. Life, every life! You know, that's what it is, every life. That's what it is when you feel like young men, full of energy.
But rather fear him, that's God, who is able to destroy both soul and body.
God is able to destroy the full life potential of a person and that physical body in Gehenna fire, in the second death. The word there for hell in Greek is Gehenna, which means the second death, which means the like of fire. God, in the like of fire, will destroy that recording and will be put it, that CD recording, will put into it and damage and destroy it.
So, the soul that sins, it shall die. The living human being that sins, it shall die. That death is actually the second death. You see, upon death, the Spirit returns to God who can't hurt.
Where do we get that? From the Bible. Ecclesiastes 12 verse 7.
Return with me, Ecclesiastes 12 verse 7.
Ecclesiastes 12 verse 7.
Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, and the Spirit, that's the Spirit of man, will return to God who gave it. When a person dies, that body dies, goes to earth, and becomes dust. It perishes, it's corruptible, and the Spirit, the recording, it's not a living, conscious thing, no, it's just a recording of all your characteristics, your fingerprints and the color of your eyes, and your lights and dislikes, and your character that you've developed, your personality and your character, your holy, godly, righteous character that you've developed, or the bad character that you have developed, or some people have, that is recorded until there's a resurrection, and that is placed back into the new body, and then a person lives again. You see, the Spirit returns to God who gave it. First it explains where it came from, but it also explains where it's stored.
It's stored in a safe house, in a strong room, whatever that is, God knows, but it stores these recordings of all the people that have died, of your great-grandparents and my great-grandparents that have died long ago. He's got it there.
Look at what Christ said in Luke 23 verse 46. Look 23 verse 46.
This is Christ's lost words before he died on the cross. Look 23 verse 46.
And when Jesus had cried out of a loud voice, he said, Father, eat your hands. I command my Spirit. Having said this, he breathed his last.
He knew that he was going to die at that moment. He said, Dad, look after my Spirit, my memory.
And he put it into the sight, but he quote, the three days and three nights, until he was resurrected and put that Spirit back into Jesus Christ.
It is amazing. It is amazing.
Look, let's go back to Ecclesiastes chapter 9. Ecclesiastes chapter 9.
In verse 5.
And that explains, yeah, once the person is dead, how he is. Ecclesiastes chapter 9 verse 5. For the living know that they will die. You and I know that one day we're gonna, as I say, kick the button. You know, we know that one day, I don't mean it in any derogatory term, please, it's just an expression. We know that one day we're gonna die.
But the dead know nothing. That human Spirit that God is storing in the safe house somewhere in heaven, to be placed back into a body later on, knows nothing. It's dead. It's not a living soul. It's a recording.
He says, the dead know nothing. And they have no more reward. For the memory of them is forgotten. In other words, it's forgotten until they brought back life. You see, to resurrect us, to resurrect us, to resurrect us, God must join the Spirit, which is the recording about you, to a new body, model 2000, whatever, into it, specifically saying whatever, otherwise people think that I'm sitting tight.
That's not a soul. And puts that Spirit into the body, and while you've got this brand new living person. You see, the brain and body require the Spirit to get that original person. And so at the resurrection, that's what happens. You get the body, and then you get the Spirit into the body, and the person knows.
It's like you get a computer, doesn't do a thing, and then you get to load the program, and while the computer starts talking to you. That's kind of the same, isn't it? Good analogy, maybe. Let's look at John chapter 5. John chapter 5 verse 28.
John chapter 5 verse 28.
Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear his voice. Now, it is important that the word all means all.
Means all. It means everybody's died, and God has taken that Spirit and stored it.
All will resurrect, and God will put that Spirit back into a body.
Let's go on reading. All in the graves will hear his voice and come forward. In other words, he will resurrect.
Those who have done good to the resurrection of life, which is the first resurrection, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment, as it should read.
It should not read as in some Bible translations puts in a resurrection of condemnation. A lot of condemnation is the resurrection of judgment. Every man is going to give a count of what is done. That's the time to give a count. It's a resurrection of judgment.
Now, who is done good? No man is good, and if only done good, if you have come to repentance, and you've come to acknowledge, and Christ is living in you, and if Christ is living in you, then you are doing good! You've got God's only Spirit, and therefore at the resurrection, there's already a judging there whether you're going to be the first or second. There's already a judgment. And then you put into the first resurrection if you've done good. In other words, if you have God's only Spirit, and you're living according to God's life.
If you have not done good, that means you have done evil like everybody does. We all do evil.
Unless we're at bay and come to acknowledge it. So if we've done evil, and it was that we have not yet repented, we've got to go to the resurrection of judgment.
So now we can see there are two resurrections, one of life and one of judgment.
And basically, there's two body types that you could get.
Think about it.
For the first resurrection, you'll get one sort of body type. And for the second resurrection, you get a different type of body.
Let's continue that in 1 Corinthians 15. 1 Corinthians 15. 1 Corinthians 15.
And now let's look at the first body type, at the first resurrection. 1 Corinthians 15.
1 Corinthians 15. Start reading in verse 22. For as in Adam all died. I mean, tell me anybody that has not died. Now, I mean, you and I haven't yet, but the octals that have been passed, all have died. Even so in Christ, all shall be made alive. Again, all. But each one in his own order. There's a time for everything. There's an order. There's a sequence. First, obviously, Christ, the first fruit. The Hebrew word yapho, Christ, the first fruit is actually in the singular. Afterward, those who are Christ's is coming.
In other words, those that are in the first resurrection, they are Christ's. Those are the ones that have done good. They are in the first resurrection. So, and then comes the end where the race comes. But let's not talk about that yet. So, for the Sunday, let's talk about the first resurrection. Those that are Christ's.
Let's read a bit more about that in verse 35 to verse 38. But someone will say, How are the dead raised up? How is it possible that the dead are raised up?
And with what body do they come? What sort of body?
Foolish one. What you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And you think about it. You take an old rotten tomato. You put it into the ground and it's going to rot completely. And those little grains, little seed is gonna... You can take that seed, you can store it.
Think about it. You can store that seed and you can store it for years.
And whatever time we decide to take it out and put it back into the ground, and that will sprout.
It's an amazing spiritual lesson. And he says, Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but near the grain.
You don't sow the body. What you sow is the grain, the seed. Perhaps wheat or some other grain. But God gives it a body as he pleases. So that will now grow that seed. It might be a new body.
It will be a new body, but it might be a rose and comes out a rose, or one of these lovely flowers, yeah, or whatever it is. It's just beautiful. He gives it a new body as God pleases.
And lovers jump to verse 42. Verse 42. So also is the resurrection of the dead.
The body is sown in corruption, and it rots. That human flesh rots corrupts. And it is raised. It is resurrected in incorruption. And we're talking about the first resurrection. That first body is incorruption. It is sown in this honor. It is raised in glory.
Because it's raised with the body of the kind of Jesus Christ.
With that glory. Not the same size of glory, but a glorious body. It is sown in weakness.
Man, when we're 70, 80, 90 years old, we're weak. It's sown in weakness. We don't even have to get to that age. It's about 90, 20 years old. Sometimes you start feeling a little weak, you know?
In weakness, it is raised in power. Because it's raised a brand new spiritual body in power of the first resurrection, the power of God. It is sown in a natural body.
It was a physical body for the first, the ones that are good. We talked about the first resurrection, those that are good. It's sown in a natural body, a physical body. It is raised a spiritual body. It's raised a body which is spirit. And there's a natural body, and there's a spiritual body. There is a spiritual body. It's not just nothingness. So it is raised a spirit body. Then jump to verse 50. Now verse I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.
So for us to be the kingdom of God, we have to have this new body which is incorruptible, which is not made of flesh and blood. We all that tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed. Yes, because if you and I are still living at the very time that Christ comes back, those few of us that are still living that are good, they will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the lost trumpet. That's when the lost trumpet, which is symbolized by the day of trumpets.
So, and it says, the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Those of us that are still living at that time will be changed from this old body to this new spiritual body. That's the resurrection of life. That's the first resurrection.
Then, what about the other resurrection? The resurrection of judgment.
Well, the resurrection of judgment is beautifully described in Ezekiel chapter 37. So, let's look at that. Ezekiel chapter 37.
We're going to start reading from verse 1.
The hand of the Lord came upon me and wrote me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley, and it was a valley full of bones. So, somehow Ezekiel was brought in a vision or in a spirit, or somehow he was brought into this vision of a valley full of bones.
Verse 2. And then he caused me to pass by them all around. So, he caused me to go around and look at all these bones and look around, and be old. He looked at them, and there were many in this valley. Others, that was full of bones. And indeed, they were very dry. In other words, these bones were really old, really old bones. And verse 3. And then he said to me, Son of man, can these bones live? So, he said, Hey, hey, listen, can these dead bones come back to live?
What do you say? Imagine if it was you. Hey, can these bones live? What would you say? I don't know. Don't ask me. That's what you would say. So, he said, Oh, Lord God, you know.
And then he said to me, well, prophesy. Give a prophecy to these bones and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones. Surely I'll cause breath to enter into you and you shall live. Breath, that breath of life. I will put sinews on you, you know, what's that? Stendens, that's muscles, and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin. Now, this is the second resurrection. You see, it's a body of flesh. It's a body with muscles with flesh. Talking about the second resurrection. I'll put skin and I'll put breath in you, the breath of life. Put it back in that spirit of manning manning you. And you shall live. You will then be a living human being again. Then you shall know that I'm Lord. So, that's what God told Ezekiel. Prophesy this. So, Ezekiel said, yes sir. So, I prophesied, as was commanded. And as I said it, as I said what I was told to say, there was a noise. And suddenly I reckon, and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over. But there was no breath in them. So, suddenly the bones came together, and suddenly skin was over, and there was the flesh, the bone, everything. There was a body. A dead body.
But there was no breath in them. They were dead.
And he said to me, prophesy to the breath, prophesy son of man, and say to the breath, thus says the Lord God, come from the forewinds of breath, and breathe on this line that they may live.
And so I said, yes sir. So he did say, okay. He said, and as he commanded, he said, and breath, it was the spirit of man, in man.
And so I said, and breath came into them, and they lived.
And they became living beings, and they lived. And they stood upon their feet. Boom! What am I doing? Yeah, I'm sorry. I don't know. I don't know. So they came into their feet. Now imagine, billions of people, the world's gotta be a paradise. It's gonna be prepared for these people. There's gotta be food. There's gotta be, there's gotta be houses. There's gotta be cattle. There's gotta be plants. There's gotta be vegetation. To feed the swole, that's our job during the millennium. To prepare the swole, to be a paradise for these billions and billions. Some people say it'll be 70 billion or 100 billion, or whatever number of billion of people it'll be. What happened? It's quite a few billion.
And, and they now are living. And they lived, and stood upon their feet, and they exceeding great army. A lot of people. And then he said to me, Son of Man, these are the palms of the whole house of Israel. But remember, in Matthew 12 and in the Natives, Christ said that the queen of Sheba and Sodom and Gomorrah, they'll be together with you on the day of judgment, and they'll say, if I had heard this, so it won't just be the house of Israel, it'll be the whole wall, the Gentiles as well. It's from the science of the Israelites, but it'll be the whole wall.
They indeed say, our bones are dry, our home is lost. They say, wow! Look at what we've done.
We should have believed. We are dead men. Look what we've done.
God does exist.
Look at my dad that died, and my great-grandfather, great-grandfather, and they all start looking, looking one another. Wow! Can you imagine what mixed feelings that will be?
I hope he's lost, and we are cut off. Now how is the judgment?
Well, now we're in trouble. There's going to be judgment.
Now then, for prophesy and say to them, thus is the Lord God. Behold, O my people, I'll open my graves, cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. In other words, you will go to your homeland, and then you shall know that I'm the Lord when I've opened your graves. You will know the truth. The truth will be preached to them. They all know the truth in which they never hurt. O my people, and brought, O my people, and brought you up from your graves. Says, then you shall know that I'm the Lord when I've opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up from your graves. In other words, they'll be taught the truth. They will then know. They'll have this time of judgment. It's like a time of probation, a time of, you know, coming out of jail. And says, all right, now you've got a certain amount of time, and now are you going to do the right thing or not? And you'll know. And verse 14, and when they repent, and when they acknowledge Christ, and when they are baptized, and when after baptism they received the promise of the Holy Spirit, He says, I will put my spirit in you, now in capital, which is God's Holy Spirit, and you shall live.
So in other words, if you now live a new life, you shall live eternally. You live eternal life, and I'll place you in your land, and then you shall know that I, the Lord, have spoken it and performed it, says the Lord. And so, you always see, again, these two key points about the human spirit. The spirit in man, the spirit of man in man, makes it possible for a person to be resurrected, and for that power of intellect to be brought back to that person, which has stored all that information. But the spirit of man in man also enables us to have a relationship with God.
That is the critical point. You see, man's creation is not complete, and he has an amazing duality. Think about it. Think about this amazing duality.
Think about the physical creation of man. The ovum in the mother's womb is united with the seed from the physical father, and the child is begotten. A living being is now living.
It's got life already in the womb. It's got the breath of life already in the womb. It's got life! And why can't it just be a dead body? It's got life!
That baby now grows in the mother's womb until the babies reach the degree of maturity they can now be born. Look at the spiritual analogy. The brain and the human spirit, in a sense, in a rough analogy, is like the ovum. It receives the Holy Spirit from the spiritual father, the seed, upon repentance.
And the human child now becomes a God child, a real son or daughter of God. Just begotten.
Just begotten in the womb, in the spiritual womb, which is the church.
And you and I need the church to grow to a certain maturity. Because imagine if that little baby still growing in the womb says, I don't need the womb! I need, I can live by myself outside of the womb. Well, nowadays we've got science that we can do a lot of things and kind of imitate a womb-like environment, but you cannot survive as a baby outside of the womb. You cannot survive as a spiritual baby outside of the spiritual womb until you are born again, which is at the resurrection.
It's an amazing duality, I think.
Look at me in John chapter 3 verse 6. John chapter 3 verse 6.
John chapter 3 verse 6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh. When we are born of the flesh, we are flesh.
We've been begotten by our fleshly father, and we are born of the flesh, and we are flesh. That which is born of the spirit, we are begotten by God's only spirit, but not yet born.
With the day that we are born again, we will be spirit. That with which is born of the spirit will be spirit. We will have a spiritual body, as we saw earlier on in one quarter of things 15.
In verse 8, the wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but you cannot tell when it comes from and where it is. And so everyone is born of the spirit. You can't see those people that are born of the spirit as a physical human being. You won't be able to see them, because it's like the wind. You got they have a body, but you can't see them.
Unless they quote-unquote materialize into bone and flesh, like Christ of his resurrection. People can see him, and then he materialized and appeared inside a bony, and they could see him. And then suddenly could disappear. It's got that special characteristics.
So, let's back to the importance of the human spirit. The human spirit enables this miraculous process that God is putting there, so that it can get united with the Holy Spirit, so we can be born again and taken from there. We are to be begotten the second time of incorruptible seed, which is the Holy Spirit. You make a note of the scripture. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 23. It talks about we are begotten of an incorruptible seed. We were begotten the first time from the seed of our physical father. When we receive the Holy Spirit, we are begotten the second time of an incorruptible seed, which is the Holy Spirit. I mentioned that we would read 1 Corinthians chapter 2 again, so let's go back to it. 1 Corinthians chapter 2.
And we're going to start reading in verse 9.
But as it's written, I have not seen nor yet heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love him. But God has revealed them to us through his Spirit. You know, through God's Spirit, we can have that understanding of spiritual things.
For the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God, which mankind can't understand. But if you and I have God's only Spirit, we start understanding. And this thing just kind of is like a light that other people can't see, can't understand. Verse 11. For what man knows the things of the man except the Spirit of man, which is in him, as we read. We know the things of a man because the Spirit of man makes us understand the things of man. Even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. The Spirit of God takes us to the next level of understanding, of grasping, of understanding God's truth and God's love. The Bible, we understand. Why don't these people see it? It's so clear. He ain't a Bible. Why they can't see it? Because God's Spirit is not working with them. That's it. As simple as that. He says, even so, no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. They can't see the things of the Bible.
Now, we have received not the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God. And the eyes of the problem with them, that we have the human spirit. And with that human spirit, we can receive the Spirit of the world. We've got that antenna, and we can receive, and we can tune to the wrong station. And in this world, that station is broadcasting everything. Everywhere, in every single frequency, whatever it's tuned into. It's there. Radio, TV, Internet, whatever it is. News, papers, magazines, everything. And why people talk, etc. It's everywhere. So, brethren, there is a battle. There is a battle of the ages in full force.
Turn with me to Ephesians chapter 6. Ephesians chapter 6. Verse 10 through 12. A well-known scripture in Ephesians chapter 6. It says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, put on the all-armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. When you have arguments, when you have problems, when you have arguments with people, when you have fights, when you have these things, you're actually not fighting with people. It's so easy for us to start the cross of that person.
And we have to meditate about it and talk about it and say, wow, the real enemy is Satan. And he's injecting wrong thoughts into me and into the other people, and so that we end up fighting.
And we've got to be careful. And for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this age, against spiritual house of wickedness in heavenly places. We are wrestling against demons that are trying to influence and inject ideas into people, and then we have fights. And we're going to be careful, brethren, because there is a spirit world. There is a spirit world.
There are rebellious and fallen angels, which are called, that calls doubts. That calls doubts.
Think about the two trees. Remember the two trees.
God is offering us two trees, a tree of life and a tree of knowledge of good and evil.
A tree of life could have been called the tree of you accepting God's knowledge of true and evil, and believing in it.
The tree of knowledge of good and evil could have called the tree of death.
So you have giving you two choices, the tree of life or the tree of death. The tree of you, or the the path of you accepting what God tells you is what's right and what's wrong, or the path of you having the choice of deciding what is right and wrong. It's like saying, you are either pro-life or pro-choice. Where have I heard that before?
It's so true. It's so true. Brethren, you and I need to be pro-life, not pro as having the choice of doing right or wrong and deciding it's right and wrong. We've got to believe that God tells us what is right and what is wrong.
But you see, there's a spirit wall. There's a spirit wall. And if you turn with me to Matthew 24.
Matthew 24.
Matthew 24.
Verse 22.
And unless those days were shorted, no flesh would be saved. But for the elect's sake, those days will be shorted. Brethren, we're going to come unto days that unless there will be shorted, there will be no mankind left. And unless for those elect to live on into the millennium, for the sake of those to be able to live on into the millennium, the wall will be saved.
And then, continue reading. Then, if anyone says to you, look, yes, Christ, or dare, do not believe it. For false Christ and false prophets will rise and show great sons and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the very elect. It will deceive even those that will be in the first resurrection. Satan is very good to create doubts. He created doubts on Adam and Eve.
He creates doubts, and he's going to create doubts on people. He's going to deceive the world.
That the scepter is going to be so great that if it were possible, we'll deceive the very people that will be in the first resurrection.
Things are going to go so bad. Imagine if there is a declaration from government or from a major religion saying, this is so and so, which causes doubt on the very existence of the true God and the Bible.
And the whole world believes it because there's scientific proof that what they're saying is correct.
Quote-unquote false science. And the whole world will follow.
I don't know what's going to cause the Catholic Church to come out with something that will cause everybody to go after them, and it will cause certain governments to say, that's it. And it will cause the whole of mankind to say, that's it. There is scientific proof, that's it. And therefore, we're not going to believe this, but we're going to believe what they say.
Because this was a thing just given to us just for a while. We were immature, but now we've got all the scientific stuff and capabilities we can see. That's our second word to cause doubt in the Bible. You know there's an old scripture, never forget it. Isaiah 8 verse 20 says to the law and to the testimony. If they don't speak according to this, don't listen to them.
There's going to come out people that says, forget about this, forget about the Bible, and it'll cause doubts, and it'll deceive the whole of mankind. The whole of mankind. There must be something, there must be something, brethren, that it's going to be something that you and I can't even think of at this stage. But it's going to completely confuse people and make people say, we're going to follow it. You can think of any different scenario what it might be, and I don't know what it will be, but it'll be something that will make the whole world follow it. And you and I will look real strange when he says, no, this is not right, because it's to the law and to the testimony. That's what we're going to see.
So, brethren, we do have the spirit of man in man. The spirit of man in man is there, to be able to make us be a person and think like a man, but it also is there for us to have a relationship with God. But there is a danger, there is an enemy that wants to destroy us.
And so, brethren, remember that you and I have been created to be true children of God, to be begotten by the very Father, not adopted, begotten of God. That is not adoption, it's beguetric to be true children of God. That is our purpose. And to achieve that purpose, God created us with the human spirit so that he can receive and be united with God's spirit, so that we can grow and develop God's holy righteous character. And at the same time, throughout that, we can restore the earth to a paradise to help out the others that will come in the second resurrection. What a wonderful plan! God has for you and I.
