Unequal Alliances

To be allied with another is to be connected in agreement with another to achieve an objective similar to your own. This may not always be for a good purpose - it may not always please God. It may be a compromise of our principles and interfere with the true worship of God; being unequally yoked falls into this category. The spiritual principle of not giving importance to something or someone else above the desires of God for our lives is the fulfillment of the Second Commandment. Allying oneself to another for expedient purposes – being unequally yoked - can be a violation of this command.
