What Does God Want Us to Know About Him?

God knows a lot about us, and He wants us to learn the most important aspect of His Being. By examining the interactions with Moses and the LORD following the incident of the golden calf in Exodus 32, 33, and 34, we read that God didn't reveal just His glory to Moses, as Moses had requested, but more importantly went beyond his request (exodus 33:18-19). What did the LORD mean by "all my goodness" that would pass before Moses? What was the significance of the LORD "proclaim[ing] the name of the LORD"? What is the significance of the "goodness" and the "name" of the LORD? What does this mean to us in light of John 17:3?
