What makes a hero? What in your mind is a hero? And would you be able to list some people that you have witnessed personally, which in your mind are three heroes?
I mean, I can think of an example of a young man at a youth activity, a youth camp in South Africa, in which young people were in a bulking sea, and then there was a large wave, and they were drowning in the sea. And one of the persons that was drowning in the sea did not know how to swim, and there was another young man in the church that jumped in the water, I mean, obviously was in the water, but went out and helped him and risked you, then saved his life.
So, you know, many things in your mind could think of people that are heroes. You could think of people, during 9-11, some of the firemen that gave their lives for others. Many people rescued by the firemen, as regrettably were not, but they gave their lives to save a lot of people's lives.
You can think of people that went to war, and they got medals of bravery for heroic acts during war, in which they saved a fellow soldier or other people. They just did something really heroic that deserved a medal.
You may think of some of the leaders in the nation, maybe George Washington as a founding father, and you may consider him to be a hero in your mind, for what he's done, to be the first president.
You may consider Abraham Lincoln, for what he did during the Civil War, ending slavery as a hero. You may think of people during the Second World War, like Winston Churchill, probably the greatest wartime leader, in the sense he brought England through it, in the sense he was a hero. For what he did, he was a part of his voice and his messages.
It depends which countries you are, or you may have other people as heroes. If you live in South Africa, you'd probably say, well, Nelson Mandela is a hero. And so it depends where you are and what perspective you are. You see different people as a hero.
So, we could have a number of heroes.
Today we actually see people making heroes of singers and actors, which I don't necessarily see them being heroes, but people put maybe a wrong label into it.
But what is a hero? A hero, in a very simplistic definition, is somebody that does something to help somebody else to have something better.
Pretty simple. So it could be saved one's life, because it's something better for the universe. It goes out of its way for somebody else.
And so, who is our greatest hero? Who is your greatest hero?
Our greatest hero, brethren, should be Jesus Christ. He's a hero. He's a true hero.
And so today, I want to spend a bit of time talking about some characteristics that Jesus Christ had or has to be more great.
For us to emulate, because you and I need to be heroes for the whole tomorrow.
And we'll see that a little later. But to fully understand, to fully understand what Jesus Christ did as a heroic act, as a true act of heroism, we need to fully understand who He was before.
Who Christ was before He did that act. He wrote act.
And so, turn with me to John chapter 1 verse 1, a scripture that you all know very well.
But it's good to remind ourselves of these things, because there are a lot of influences out there, a lot of influences out there in the world that are distorted people from the true reality of what the Father says. And so, let's read, very plain, what it says. And John 1, 1 says, In the beginning was the words of the article B, the Word.
And the Word was with the God. Interesting enough, in Greek, the article B is there.
Abracademy, and you're welcome to look at it. This is a Greek New Testament. Very interesting. It's actually the majority text. Now, the majority text means that there are many manuscripts. And this is what the church believes, that it has the majority of the manuscripts.
And the consensus of the majority of the manuscripts is what it believes to be correct. And the majority text is what... and it's very clear.
And if you look in the majority text, and I've got a GI welcome to come and look at it afterwards, it's an interlinear, so it's got the Greek.
And it's got the English words below, which, if I remember correctly, are from the King James Version.
Anyway, it's got below. And in much, they may play in the wrong sequence. Or if there's a word that is in Greek, that is not in English.
And specifically, there's a case where that V is not in English, but it is in Greek. So, I brought a GI and a welcome to come through. And so it says, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with the God.
Now, I have had people in my role, meeting some people that are coming into the church and asking questions and wanting the place, and now they had one person that said to me, when it says the word that Christ was not divine, and it says the word is just the word, and the word is just words, and those words became that person, and became Christ.
But then how can it be THE word? Is it THE word that represents it was an entity, a being? The word was with the God, the supreme God, also an entity, a being.
And THE word was God. You see, daily it does not have the BE before God. And the word, THE word, was God. The word was the entity.
So, put it in simple English, it says, the I was THE word, which you can see in verse 14, became flesh and was Christ.
So, the I was the word which likely became Christ. So, the I was this being, was with THE supreme divine being, THE supreme divine being, and the word was divine.
The words were of the same quality, the same species, the same form, the same type of characteristics.
It's like you and I are human, and we're all human, and there's one humanity. There's one humanity, we're all human.
So, and then continues. He was in the beginning. So, THE word was in the beginning. It's a beginning, not just voices coming out of the mouth.
It was a being. He was in the beginning. And it's unbelievable how these people turn things and put scripture to justify that.
This person said to me that over my dead body will ever change that ability.
And it is, it's amazing because it's simply in a Bible what it says.
And we need to read the Bible as it reads it. Read the Bible as it reads it.
So, continue. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him. And without Him, nothing was made. There was nothing.
Everything was made through Christ. That's what it says. Everything was made through Christ.
And nothing was made. There was made except through Him. Nothing. So it says very clearly that Christ was the one that created everything.
Everything. It's very clear. So Christ was the Creator. Under the Divine Father, under His complete submission and authority, because there were one in mind, in attitude, in spirit, there were one.
And then it continues. Let's read in Colossians chapter 1.
Colossians chapter 1 verse 15 to 17.
It says, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn, over all creation. For by Him, all things were created.
Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. In other words, He is of the same characteristic, the same capability, the same character.
He is not the same person, but He is of the same entity, characteristics put it this way.
So He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn, over all creation.
Well, obviously we know He was not the firstborn. He was the first begotten. The word in Greek there is actually begotten.
He was the first begotten of all creation. That is actually the Greek, begotten. He was the first one that was begotten of the Holy Spirit.
And yes, therefore, it is there. Okay, you could say He is the firstborn spiritually from a human being, but the actual Greek is first begotten.
So He is the first begotten of all creation. For by Him, all things were created by Christ. Everything was created.
The Bible is very clear that Christ created everything. And it says, in heaven and on earth. So Christ created the angelic beings.
All the angels, everything in heaven was created by Him. And it says, visible and invisible. What we can't see and what we can't see and we don't even know. Because we physically would think it's beyond our understanding today.
Where are they from? So the minions or principalities of powers? In other words, the powers of the spiritual world that we don't even understand and see.
The dead is the spiritual world. They are powers. There are tremendous powers out there that we often are of good mystery.
But they did and they take this. All things were created through Him and through Him.
Christ is the Creator. There's no question that the Bible is very clear that Christ was the Creator.
And He is before all things. Why is He before all things? Because He created them. So He exists before them. He's eternal. He's before all things.
In other words, He lived before they existed. And He says, any meaning, all things consist. So they not only exist, but they consist.
Which means they maintain, you know, physical things. Needed the reminders. I mean, I know. Having been healed, what happened to my things?
My...draws. You know, if it's not maintained. And my wife went out and kindly, she was outstanding, she went out and really, she's been the best wife I could ever wish.
She helped me in many ways. She even went out and cut the draw. So...but it just shows that physical things, if they're not maintained, they're not kept in a certain balance.
They're good old weeks. And even the earth. You know, there are certain things in the earth, certain ecological balances that now and again may need some tweaking.
I don't know, but Christ, He's the one that is there managing that. He may not be physically doing it, because after all He delegates, I can hardly do things and I can tell you go and do this and you can do that and you can do that.
But He's there watching, monitoring and He's delegating, you know, through the world that we speak. That's our Christ also. Delegating things and speaks and people do. That's why He says He's the one.
So all things consistent, it keeps things going and keeps them running in shape. Look also at Hebrews chapter 1.
Hebrews chapter 1, it's amazing Scripture that few people often think of, because it's talking about Christ and He says there, He says, you've been the brightness of His glory.
Christ is verse 3. Let's start from verse 2. Hebrews 1 verse 2. Has in His last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed here of all things, through whom He also made the walls. Yeah, through Christ He made the walls. All the walls, not just the universe, just not planet earth, but He made the universe, all the walls besides just planet earth.
He says, who being the brightness of His glory, He's the brightness of God the Father's glory, and the express image of His person. In other words, He's got the spiritual character of God the Father. That's what He is. He's got that express image of the express spiritual character of God the Father.
He upholds all things by the power of His, by the word of His power. He upholds, keeps them maintained, keeps them in tune in, as I was explaining earlier on. He upholds and keeps them in good working position. And when He had by Himself, first our sense sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
And then He says, for to whom we must part, to which of the angels did the Father ever say, you are my Son? So He's clearly talking about Jesus Christ. Then look at us in verse 8. Look at it in verse 8. This is what I really want to get to in verse 8.
But to the Son, He says, now who's talking yet? It's the Father. It's the Father. He's talking to the Son, which is clearly talking about Christ, to the Son.
God the Father says, you're throne, O God. God the Father calls, tells to Jesus Christ. He says, you're throne, O God.
Now, I was in another region in the world, and a person told me, no letting the Bible says that Jesus Christ is God. The Bible says only that He's the Son of God, but not He's God. And at that time, it kind of says, where is that scripture? Well, if that person says that without, I'll allow it. Because, you know, when the curse hits you, you can't think of the scripture. You know what I mean? But now it says, the Father said to the Son, you're throne, O God. He's forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness, He's the scepter of your kingdom.
You have left righteousness, you have hated the Lord and He says, therefore God, that's Jesus Christ, you're God, that's the Father.
The Father is talking, talking to Christ and says, therefore God, you're God, has anointed you to a world of gladness more than your companions.
Well, if they, if they really, it's the Bible, it's God's Word, it's very clear. It's not George's words or anything like that. It's all the Bible, strength, calling, Christ, number one, Creator, number two, God. Now, there is only one God because He is the Trinity, calling Him the Trinity. But the God of Jesus Christ is the Father. So ultimately, the position of God is the Father. He is the God, the God.
Obviously, they divine.
In Jesus Christ, therefore, He's the Lord. So God divine, what is the God and everyone is the Lord. But it does not mean that sometimes God the Father is called the Lord. You can read in Revelation 11, I think it's in 11.15, where it says, and it says, it says the Lord that He has His Christ. And it's talking about the Father, that Christ. So it talks sometimes about... So just because it says there's one God and one Lord does not mean that God the Father is sometimes not also called Lord. But God the Father is the God and Jesus Christ is also God. It's also divine, but He is the Lord. The position in that hierarchy that's the faculty that are given there. Look also in Isaiah. This is not only in the New Testament, but look in in Isaiah. Isaiah chapter 13, Daniel, Isaiah, Joel chapter 13, says... Verse 4 says, Now who's the Savior? Who's our Savior? Let's look in Titus. Very. Obviously we know our Savior is Christ. But if you look in Titus, Timothy Titus, look in chapter 1, and we're going to see verse 3 and 4 in the first place. It says, to Titus, the true Son of our companion faith, grace, mercy, peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior. Jesus Christ is our Savior. Of course, we all know that. And then look at also in chapter 2, verse 10, where it says... Towards the end of part, that time I adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things. Now, who's He talking about? God our Savior. If you just look three verses down on verse 15, it says, looking for the blessed help and glory is appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ. So, it's very clear that Christ is our Creator. The Bible is... We don't have to be ashamed to say that. It says, you have not denied my name. In Revelation to the church of brotherly love, it says, you have not denied my name. We must not be afraid. We must not deny the name of Christ. There is our Savior. There is our God. There is our Lord. Of course, He's under God the Father. To explain that scripture in 1 Corinthians 8, that a few people have a bit of a problem, let's go into it. 1 Corinthians 8.
We'll stop reading in verse 4 and then read through verse 6.
There is only one divinity. God's divinity is not only one. There is not different God. The pagans have a God for rain and a God for agriculture, a God for fertility. Different Gods. Now, there is one God, supreme over all. Rain, fertility, everything. One God, it's God. God's family, supreme, empathy is the Father. Christ completely submissive to Thee, giving the instructions, meaning the Thee. Executor, let's pull up the slide. The one that does the execute, the one that executed, the executor, is called. The other one, the thing is God the Father is the director and then Christ is the executor. The executor is the one that actually executes. So that's what it is. So then continue, verse 5. For even if there are so-called Gods, even if they are called so-called Gods, whether they never know, it was if they are so-called Gods. And then he says, you could put it as it is here in brackets, as there are many Gods and many Lords. There was the so-called Gods, these pagan Gods. Some are so-called Gods, but some are called Gods, some are called Lords. But they are all Gods. So it's actually saying that Gods and Lords are still Gods. Sounds a bit confusing, but you know, they're still... What is explaining now is the ability in different positions of authority. Some may have a title of Lords, like Christ's heads. So, you know, in the way people are interested. So he is putting it in a way that they understood. He's talking to them because they were Gentiles, they were Corinthian, so he was putting it in a way they could understand in their way. Yet, for us, so he's saying now as Christians, there is one God, the Father. There's one supreme God. There is the God. The one is supreme. Of whom are all things and we for him. So that's his position. He's the supreme. He's God, the Father. Of whom are all things. There was a belong to him and we for him. He's the owner. He's the owner. And then he says, and one Lord Jesus Christ. Through whom are all things and through whom we live. It was through him that we exist. He's the creator. He's the Lord. He's the creator. But he's still divine. So there's one God, the Father, one supreme and there is the Lord Jesus Christ, which is also divine, which is also of the God family.
But he's in complete submission to God, the Father, in complete submission to the Father. Now, why did I go through this? When I'm saying I'm talking about who's the hero. Because we need to understand clearly what Christ is and what's and will ever be. His position is who he is. He's our creator. He made us. He made angels. He made the heavens. He made the universe. He made the stars. He made the sun, the moon, the planet, the earth. He made everything. And he, what did he do? He had that supreme power. He had that supreme power. But he emptied himself of that power. He emptied himself of that authority. And he became a human being. When he was a human being, he did not have that power. Sure, he did a lot of miracles, but he had to pray and ask God the Father. And because who he was and because of the way he obeyed and all that, God honored his requests. But he was not there with when he was a human being. He was in the flesh. He was completely in the flesh. And so he was like him and I, subject to the potential of dying. And had he done something wrong, he would have died and would have lost his life, physical life. And you'd have lost his eternal life. You see, we quite often think, well, could have died, physical, could have lost his eternity. Because of himself, he helped himself to do that for what? To save you and I. That's why it's the same.
And indeed, if you and I don't grasp that, that Christ is a Creator and God and our Lord, under, obviously, the Supreme Authority and submission and instruction and giving all the honor to the Father, under the Father. But if we don't understand that position and what is done, then our act of taking the possible is in vain. We are wasting our time in taking the possible if we don't honor Him and respect Him and acknowledge what He did for us to that degree. And that is the act of heroism. He's a hero. He's a true hero of what He did.
And look with me with Philippians chapter 2. Philippians chapter 2. It's one of my favorite scriptures in the Bible. It's just got so much in it. Philippians chapter 2. And we're going to start reading in this verse. It says, let this mind be in you. In other words, have this same mental mindset, this same attitude, this same motivation.
Which was also in Christ Jesus. And what was this motivation? What is this attitude that you and I need to have that was in Christ Jesus? He said, who being in the form of God, He was, in other words, in the form, in the quote-unquote species or type or kind of God, in other words, just divine.
Okay, family. He was in the form of God. Did not consider it robbery to be equal with God. Now, if I go around and I say to people, I'm the President of the United States. Number one, you all know it's not true. But it's a robbery. You see me in a title that doesn't belong to you. It's a robbery. Isn't it? It's a robbery. You're taking something that doesn't belong to you. And He says, He says, do not consider it robbery to be equal with God. In other words, to Christ, there was nothing wrong to make Himself equal to God. Why? Because He was God. But, you're saying, made Himself of no dedication. He made Himself. In other words, nobody ordered Him. Nobody, when God the Father says, You have to do this. Sure, they agreed and they talked amongst themselves. But He decided of Himself voluntarily to do it. He made Himself of no redemption, taking the form of a bond statement and coming into likeness of men. In other words, He emptied Himself. He made Himself of no reputation. In other words, He emptied Himself of the power of being God and became a God. And became a human being of His own print position. And then it goes on. He says, and being found in the appearance as a man, so He was a man fully in a flesh. He became fully flesh. A human being with subject to the same priorities and weaknesses that you and I are subject to. But He never sinned. So He says, and being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedience to the point of death, even the death of the cross. He humbled Himself. And that is the first characteristic that you and I need to have. Is it right?
Because He humbled Himself. And for Him to be a hero, He had to be humbled and humbled Himself, take the power of God, divest Himself out of that, make Himself of no reputation, so that people don't even know who He was, treated like us. Who do you think you are? A type of individual out there in the streets. And He was the God of the Word and created those people. He was treated as nobody. How many of us? You get a little title and you've got to walk around with your nose up and He says, just get out of the way because I'm coming out, I've got to talk with Him. And He made Himself another reputation.
What's the title? Because He humbled Himself.
So, the first characteristic for us to be heroes like Him, we need to emulate an attitude, albeit in a lot smaller style, but we need to imitate to have an attitude of humility.
If you look at the very first beatitude that Christ told us to have, you don't have to turn to it, but in Matthew 5 verse 3, it's the first beatitude before He's third, so then you will inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. It's humility.
It's the first beatitude He tells us to have. Humility.
I mean, immediately after the fossil, Christ died. On the next day, what is it? It's the Feast of Nambu.
After the fossil, it is now made possible, the plan of salvation is now sealed. It can happen.
And therefore, the first thing that happens after the fossil is that it's not complete. And what does that living bread mean?
It means humble. It means flat. Like, undeveloped bread. Flat. Humility. For seven days, completely.
That is the first thing that we need to pour in as a starting point. Humility to be true heroes in God's sight.
But continuing on, Philippians, it also says, it says in verse 7, But made himself of no reputation, taking in the form of a bond servant.
The other thing that Christ did besides being humble, He was prepared to serve. He was prepared to do selfless acts of service.
To help somebody. Think about a fireman. He's a selfless act of service.
For the bearer of somebody else to save somebody else, to save somebody's house, save the people, children, whatever it is that in the situation of the fire.
And then you're in your own lives. It's acts of service. Jesus Christ was a servant. And so right at that pass of ceremony, what did the institute as a reminder to us that we need to do?
The foot washing ceremony. What is that? An act of service. Yes, it's an act of humility. It's an act of service.
And so He's teaching us that we need to serve.
On His last, quote unquote, sermon to His apostles, just before He died, run about from John 14, 15, 16. Let's look at John 15.
John 15. What did He say to these disciples? His last message. And we all know this very well.
John 15, verse 13 of 1-3. 13. Great to laugh as no one more than this than to lay down one's life for His friends.
That was the selfless act of service for His friends, because service is very linked to love.
When you laugh, you serve. You do a lot of things for your children, because you love them.
It's love leads to service. You don't have to turn to John 3, 16. You all probably know the whole part.
So for the greatest love, one has to lay down one's life for His friends.
Matthew 20. Matthew 20. Here we have a situation where... Matthew 20, verse 25 to 27. But just to put you in the context, it doesn't matter if you serve these children.
And...
And she comes to Christ and says, Let my two sons, one sit with their right hand side and one with their left hand side. And then she says, You don't know what you're asking. You don't know what you're asking. And they said, No, no, no, we are able to do that. We'll do it.
And she says, Okay, you'll have to go through it. But obviously thinking that my right hand side and my right hand side is not for me to give, it's for the Father. You'll go through it. And then when the Ten heard it, they all got, let's call it, all cheese dough. Why? Because they wanted the same thing. She says, Now, they got an hour with it for themselves.
They were Germans to say, Now, how can you decide? They got this priest, great priest. And verse 25, and says, Then Jesus called them to Himself and said, You know that the groupers of the Gentiles lorded over them, and those who are in great, are great, the exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so amongst you, but whoever desires to be great among you, let him be your servant. Don't need a topic to serve. You really don't need a topic to serve. We all can serve without a factor.
And whoever desire to be first among you, let him be your slave. And so, an attitude of service is what we all need to have. To immitate trust. He was, has and had a great attitude of humility. And he has and had a great attitude of service. He has and has answers because that's his personality. That's who he is. He wants to serve. He wants to serve us. Sure, he is not going to be washing the floor and things like that in the kingdom of God, but he's going to be serving by being a leader.
You know, a leader can serve his subjects by what he does in a loving way, in a kind of way, providing service. So, he is the king of kings and lord of lords. He'll be serving humanity by ruling with justice and mercy. That is a service to mankind. That is a service to mankind. So, he'll be a servant and he always a servant because that's his mentality. That's his triumph. That's his characteristic. That's who he is. He'll always be merciful because that's who he is.
Showing rule with authority and power, with justice, but with mercy. Justice and mercy. He'll be justice first. And then mercy. You can't have mercy without justice. You've got to execute justice first. And then, upon repentance, there's mercy. So, he always has an attitude of humility and an attitude of service. And he sacrificed. Look at it the other way. He was brave. I mean, he did something that others would not do or are not there to do.
I mean, it's brave to say, I'm going to do something and I couldn't lose my life for it. That's an act of bravery. That's an act of bravery. And he did that. He put his life on the line for you and I. Sure, the other kind. He knew he had to overcome. But he was tempted like we all are, but without sin. So, it was an act of bravery. And you can read, for instance, in Joshua.
You know, when Joshua, after Moses died, he was told to go into the land. And what is it called? Be your courageous. Be your courageous. Don't give up. Be courageous. You can read that in the first chapter of Joshua. I'm not going to go into him there, but you know what I'm referring to. And you and I need to be courageous. So, the attitude of humility, the attitude of service, and attitude of bravery.
You know, you think about all these heroes. They get medals of bravery. We need to be brave. What to do? To stand up for the true fight. Yes, we got to fight as well. That's the fourth one. We've got to fight. What was the first thing that Christ did? What was the first thing that Christ did after he was baptized? He went for forty days into the woods to fight the true enemy, Satan. He fasted for forty days, and then he fought Satan. The very first thing, he tackled the real enemy, Satan. And so, that was his focus. The first thing to do is to fight the real enemy, which was Satan.
And our role, too, is to fight the real enemy. We all see in the war, turn with me to 2 Timothy, 2 Timothy, 2 Timothy.
2 Timothy, chapter 2, verse 3 to 5. It says, you therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Christ. In other words, we're in a fight. We're in a war. We are soldiers, and we are in a fight.
And so, we have to endure hardship as a good soldier. He says, no one engaged in warfare and tackles himself with the affairs of the slag. Very many please him who is enlisted in as a soldier. So, we are soldiers, and we are in a war. But we have to be careful to know who is the enemy. Who are we fighting? We are not fighting. Human beings. We are fighting sight. He's the one that brings all the sort of distractions and things that we may have that can distract us from what we need to be doing.
He's the one that puts all the difficulties because he's a real enemy. He's a real enemy. Turn with me to Ephesians 6. Ephesians 6. And we're going to read verse 11 and 12. He says, put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
He is who we're going to be fighting. Just like Christ first had to fight second. We have to be very conscientious of who we're fighting. We are fighting second and his enemies. He says, for we do not wrestle against flesh and blood. We're not wrestling against this person or that person.
Yes, that person may say something to us that is offensive, that hurt us, that said. That the person themselves, they probably don't even know who's kind of stirring it up. All who's creating the situation to actually have this education. We're not fighting another organization. We're not fighting as a human being or whatever it is. We are fighting second. He says, we are fighting against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age.
Against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. We are fighting beings that are very powerful. And it's not just one. There are many out there that are there trying to destroy you and I. And that's where our fight is. And we need to keep that in mind when we are frail, when we are weak, to ask God for our help. Every day, daily, give us our daily bread. What is our daily bread? God's Holy Spirit.
What's God's Holy Spirit? The strength that we need daily to fight, to stand up, to overcome. We need to ask God daily for that. He says, that's what we're fighting for. It will take out the whole armor of God. And so it goes on, the striving of armor. But the point I wanted to say is that we do have one enemy.
One enemy is second and he's a terrorist. It's called a terrorist. And it's not the flesh, it's not blood, it's not people around us. But he's second. That's who our enemy is. So we have to continue to pray, continue to pray, that God removes that enemy so that we might not be distracted. So that's the point. Perfect timing. So there you are. It is Satan that wants us to be diverted from the real truth. He's the real enemy. So, just like Christ, to be a hero, he was awful.
He's got acts of service. He's true here, he's too brave. He's an act of greatness, courage. And he knows who the true enemy is. Who the true enemy is. We ourselves need to know who the true enemy is. Maybe some of us got tremendous illnesses. Tremendous illnesses. I think some people that we know that haven't been with us for so many months with terrible different illnesses. Now, God allows it.
Just like he allowed it to Job. Job had a terrible sickness and disease. But in the end, the enemy was Satan. But God allowed it to test him and to purify him and to become a therapist. God knows. God knows our heart. He knows what we need. And he knows what we can handle.
In some trials, some people go through. I don't think I would be able to do that. I mean, some people's trials are amazing now. They stand up and they're going to have great reward for it. But we've got to understand that we have to fight the true enemy. And we've got to fight till the end. He that overcomes till the end. He that perseveres to the end, he will receive the reward. We have to persevere to the end. We have to remind faithful to the end.
We've got to endure to the end. There's many scriptures you and I have read. But in Philippians, when we read about Christ, that he says, he emptied himself and he humbled and told what? Told death, death in the cross. He endured till the end. The end is was, in his case, death. He's death. Our end, our rights, our marathon is the end of our lives. We have to endure till the end, till the end. It's hard, but that's what it is. And then, the those that will be with him, or as you can see in Revelation 17-14, you probably know what it is, a thought, but I just want to mention this.
I was talking about the cross, fighting the beast's power and the false prophet and the armies there. And then he says, he is the Lord of the Lord and King of Kings, verse 14 of chapter 17. And those that are with him, those that are with Christ, are called, chosen and faithful. They are called, chosen and faithful.
In other words, they did not drop the ball to the end. They fight for the end. So, I've mentioned, I've highlighted to you a few characteristics of Christ. But you know, because of that, because of what he did, he's the Savior, he's our Savior.
But you know what? He's not just our Savior, he's not your Savior and my Savior. He's the Savior of the Church, because of tattoo, which I believe is going to sort the Church out. We've got problems and he's going to sort it out.
Thank God to him. And he'll make us all together one day. It's him, he's the Savior. But he's the Savior of the Lord. You know, if he would not come to the Savior of the Lord, truly, sooner or later, it would be the end of the world. But there's not going to be an end of the world, because he's getting to intervene before we press the Lost Button and exterminate ourselves.
And the last moment, he's going to say, hold on, and he's going to save the world. But you know what? He's going to have other little saviors with him. If you and I are faithful to the end, you and I will be working with him, saving the world. Not today. I mean, I admire people that do amazing deeds, good deeds. And yes, they do.
But, you know, it must be very frustrating when they do deeds to help people. And a year or later, they're back to the same problems, you know, you help people and back to the same problems. Because it's like quicksand, you know, you're helping and you're not really solving the problem. The real problem, the real hope for mankind is Christ coming as the Savior of the world.
And he's going to save the world, but he's not going to save it by himself. He's going to have other saviors with him. You and I. Do you know that you and I will be called saviors? Yes, it's in the Bible. Obadiah. Obadiah, chapter 1. It's only got one chapter, so it's chapter 1. Daniel would say, it's all Amos, Obadiah, chapter 1. The last verse of Obadiah. And you know Obadiah is the chapter or book about Edom and how they'll be punished. And then right at the end, right at the end, it's got an interesting verse.
In verse 21. Then saviors shall come to Mount Zion to judge the nations of Israel, and the kingdom shall be the Lord. What is saviors? They're the resurrected saints. You and I, if we persevere to the end, you and I will be heroes. Little heroes. Not big heroes like Jesus Christ. Little heroes, but still little heroes to overcome to the end.
To be humble, to have selfless acts of service, to be brave, to fight a real enemy, to persevere to the end. We will be heroes. And God will use these humble, serving heroes to help him save mankind. And these will be the saviors that will come to Mount Zion, to the kingdom of God. They will be there to save the world with Christ. We as the first troops, brethren, we as the first troops, God's glorified saints, we will save the world and the Christ and the Reza quality.
We will be the little saviors and the big saviors. We will be little heroes and the big hero. And we'll be given the Father's name. We will be given as the first troops. We will be given the Father's name. The most holy name of all will be given to the first troops. Did you know that? We will have God the Father's name.
He's name. You can read that in Revelation 14 verse 1 and 4, where He says, we'll have the Father's name. Yeah, let's just turn there quickly. It's a very interesting Scripture about it. The 144,000 and Revelation 14. And He says, then, I looked in the Old, a Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, with Him 144,000, every His Father's name written on the four heads. We'll have the Family name of God the Father. We'll be like, let's call it our sermon, our Father.
We'll be like Family, Father the Family. And then we'll honor. Look at verse 4. These are the ones who were not the Father with women. For they are virgins. They are two heroes. They are heroes. It's not just anybody that gets called. It's not just anybody that gets called and chosen. It's the ones that are called and chosen and thankful to the end. Those are the heroes, and those are the ones who follow the Lamb, whatever He goes. Why? Because they'll be the wife of the Lamb. And the wife goes with the husband, whoever I am, and goes. These were redeemed from among men, being first fruits to God and to the Lamb.
Brethren, with God, a great Savior, which is Jesus Christ, is our God, our Father, our Creator, and the disagreement of Father with God the Father.
In the end, you will hand it all to God the Father and submit to God the Father. We have one God, one being, one being God the Father. But it's one family, one God, one mind, one characteristic. And God the Father and Jesus Christ, and those that will be the children of God, the first fruits, will have the attitude of the heroes. We'll be humble. We'll be serving. We'll be great. We'll fight through fight, and we are able to persevere to the end. And we will have the opportunity to save the world under Christ with Him, being little saviors with Him.
You can be one, really. Let's just follow Christ's example.
Thank you.
