What is the Most Referenced Psalm in the New Testament, and Why?

Psalm 110 is a Messianic psalm that reveals things about the Father and Jesus, and the relationship between them, that we don’t get anywhere else. Verse 1 is the most quoted verse from the Old Testament. Jesus, Peter and Paul used it to prove arguments. And verse 4 is so important that Hebrews devotes more than one chapter to explain its implications. Let’s examine a few things we can glean from this very short but powerful psalm of David.
