What is the Throne of the Lord?

When Christ returns to this earth, as is pictured by the Feast of Trumpets, upon which throne will he sit? Will he establish a new throne or will he take his place upon an existing throne? The Bible uses the term “the Throne of the Lord”, but what does that mean? Let's investigate this important subject.
