In the beginning, God offered eternal life to Adam along with free moral agency. Adam chose death. The horrible consequences of that choice have echoed down through the millennia. But God had a plan to fix things. He sent His Son to pay the price as a sacrifice for human sin. By that sacrifice God was, once again, able to offer eternal life to men and women. When confronted with their sins, the people asked the Apostle Peter, “what shall we do?” He responded, “Repent and be baptized and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Right then, 3,000 people received that day what God had offered to Adam 4,000 years before. This is what God wants for everyone who has ever lived, past present and future. What an awesome God we serve and worship.
