Discover the prophetic significance behind the Israel–Iran conflict, and learn how Bible prophecy reveals the deeper spiritual realities shaping today’s world events.
[Steve Myers] The attacks between Israel and Iran, marked by Israel’s recent “Rising Lion” operation, has captured the world’s attention. The operation’s name is drawn from Numbers 23:24 (NKJV): “Look, a people rises like a lioness, and lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, and drinks the blood of the slain.”
This verse reflects how many in Israel view their military actions through a prophetic and divine lens. But beyond the headlines, you need to look deeper—through the lens of the Bible and the plan of God.
There’s no doubt that the Middle East plays a pivotal role in God's prophetic timeline. Nations like Iran—ancient Persia—and Israel are not incidental players. Daniel 11:40 speaks of a future conflict: “At the time of the end the king of the South shall attack him; and the king of the North shall come against him like a whirlwind...”
Scripture teaches that there will be an alliance of nations that will come against Israel in the latter days. Iran is connected to the "king of the South"— an alliance of nations that face off against Israel and oppose a northern alliance in the last days.
The prophecy in Revelation 16 points to this coming global confrontation at Armageddon, highlights the involvement of nations which include Iran and its allies.
These are not just ancient words. They are warnings—and wake-up calls. Jesus said in Matthew 24:42, “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”
The signs of the time point to your world on the precipice—and so you must get your spiritual act together. Now is the time to come to God with sincerity, to seek His truth, and to obey His commandments.
And if you don’t really know Him—if you don’t yet understand what it means to walk in His way—it’s not to late to learn. Open your Bible, seek God’s true teaching, and get aligned with His will while there's still time.
