Good News writer Mario Seiglie talks about articles that focus on God, science and the Bible in the latest issue of the Good News magazine.
[Darris McNeely] We've been focusing on BT Dailies recently with the latest issue of the Good News magazine. The March/April issue is out in the mail as you've probably received yours by now. If you haven't had a chance to pick it up and look at it, you'll find that this issue focuses upon God, science, and the Bible. We have Mario Seiglie, who is an author of a couple of the articles that dealt specifically with proving God and evolution in this issue of the magazine. Mario maybe you could help the audience and give them a little bit of an understanding of the articles that you covered and why you chose those topics.
[Mario Seiglie] Right. This is a question that is coming up all the time in our society—does God exist and also how evolution is not true from all the different angles that science is discovering more and more that it just cannot be by chance and also by natural selection that you come up with…
[Darris McNeely] That life on Earth cannot be by chance.
[Mario Seiglie] Exactly. And so the first article "Proving There Is a God Even Without the Bible." I use an acronym, which is GODLY, to help show each one of these proofs. GODLY comes from the word, or the letter, genetics, it has to do with the discoveries of DNA and how elaborate code it is. It's actually information, that something non-organic cannot produce information—it has to have an Intelligence behind it. O is for origin of the universe. D, the design behind things. L is for only life begets life. And also, Y, the yield that it produces having God in your life. Actually as one of the article said, take the Ten Commandments and check with me the following morning because they've found out that people that are following a certain code of religion and ethics actually have healthier and happier lives.
[Darris McNeely] We periodically will cover this subject of God, science, and the Bible in the Good News magazine and I think that as you pick it up and read it, you will find that there's a lot of information there you've not really thought about. And also the magazine would be very helpful for young people in their studies in school and in college and helping to combat a lot of the ideas that are out there that are always based upon evolution and the idea that there is no God behind life on this planet. So, Mario, we appreciate you coming in and sharing some of your insight into these particular articles with us. That's the Good News magazine March/April edition focusing upon God, science, and the Bible. That's BT Daily. Join us next time.
The Bible was long accepted as a true and reliable account of our origins. But then Darwin's theory of evolution took the world by storm, with predictable and tragic consequences—proof that what we believe does matter.
