Studying specific topics is another key to understanding God's Word.
[Steve Myers] Another key to understanding the Bible is to take your time and study topics. You can look at various aspects of one subject and really get into what the Bible has to say. Sometimes studying topically means I can pick out a doctrine and study various aspects of that particular doctrine. I can get out word studies to help me in that, other passages that are relevant to a particular scripture that gets our attention. Like we could use a concordance or a study aid that could really help us to dig deeper into a particular aspect of one topic and then we could begin to see what God has to say, not just in one passage or two passages, we've kind of taken all the aspects of that particular topic and really gained a deeper understanding of what God has to say.
Here's an interesting passage that deals with this in 2nd Timothy 2:15. And here's what it says, "Be diligent to present yourself, approve to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." And so, get into the word, taking the whole topic. Look at the big picture when you study the Bible and you'll find it's a key to your understanding.

Millions of Bibles are sold or given away every year. It's the world's most popular book, but at the same time the most misunderstood! To many it's difficult to understand, yet the Bible itself gives us keys to understand it!
