Here is how to stop doing the same thing over and over.
[Steve Myers] That fly kept doing the same thing over and over and over again. And it comes down to this, if I do what I've always done, I'll get what I've always got. I think that's an important concept when you begin to think about it because it's so important that we've got to change our tactics. If we keep doing the same thing over and over and over again and aren't getting anywhere, we've got to change. We've got to change our thinking, we've got to change our actions. And that fly was I think an amazing reminder of that.
Do you ever find yourself in this position? You just keep doing the same things over and over and over again. For us, we've got to turn to God and make sure He's the priority in our life. Psalm 63 was a good reminder for me as I thought about this very concept. Here it reminds us, I can't keep doing that same thing over and over like that fly. This points us to the true aspect of where I've got to turn. Psalm 63, it says, "Oh, God. You are my God. Early will I seek You." I won't keep banging my head against the window over and over again, I've got to turn to God. I've got to get realigned. It says, "I've looked for You. I've looked for You to see your power and your glory." That's what's it's about when the flies are surrounding us and buzzing all around us and we seem to be doing the same thing over and over and over again, now is the time to do something totally different. Don't get what you've always got. Be sure you're turning to God in your life and that way you'll be very assured that when that fly is buzzing around, you can stop it.
That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
