Space Junk: Watch Out for Others

While we monitor the spiritual debris in our lives we should keep an out for the best interest of others.

[Steve Myers] That space junk that's circling the earth, that orbital debris could certainly cause a lot of damage to a satellite. When we think about the spiritual connections to that and our spiritual health, there's also good things to watch out for. I mean, they watch out for that debris so that they can avoid it if it's about to crash into a satellite.

There's something we can do that's also a good thing, a good thing to watch out for. It's found in the book of Philippians. Philippians 2:3, it tell us, "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility look to others as more significant," that's the way the ESV puts it, "more significant than yourselves. Don't look to your own interests but also the interests of others."

You see, if we're going to spiritually orbit in the best way, in the most spiritual way, it can't be all about us. We need to be watching for others. We need to be sure that we're counting others better than ourselves, that we're serving others, that we're giving people. And so, let's be sure that's the orbit we're choosing to take, and we're looking out for the best interest of others.

That's "BT Daily." I'll see you next time.
