As Christians we should have hope and we should be ready with an answer for that hope.
[Steve Myers] In a sense, we're to be like a modern-day Ezekiel. We may not preach to the world about repentance and the oncoming difficulties, but we do have to stand as watchmen in our own ways. One way to do that is to be that shining light that Christ talked about. But there's another way we can be a light. We can do that by being ready to answer. We are different kinds of people compared to those in this world. We have a hope. We have a different type of perspective on life, and that's gonna raise some questions with those around us. And so, we're told in the Bible, "Be ready to answer for the hope that lies within." We find that passage in 1 Peter 3:15. That admonition from Peter says, "Sanctify the Lord in your hearts, in your minds, in your thinking. Be ready," he says, "To give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that's in you."
Are you ready? Are you ready to...Why do you do what you do? Why do you believe what you believe? Can you verbalize those things? Can you talk about why we should have hope, why we should be encouraged, even though we're facing such challenging times? That's part of what it means to be a watchman. To really shine that light and stay informed about what's happening all around us, and being able to help others to understand things from a Biblical perspective. That's being a watchman.
So that's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
