Sand

Have you ever written a message in the sand at the beach? Or spent an entire afternoon with your family building a sand castle? Eventually, the waves roll in and wash over your writings. Your sand creations are now small, smooth mounds and your message in the sand is gone forever.

But in the grand scheme, this is how life is. It’s but a flicker, a moment, and then it’s gone. Most of Apostle Paul’s life was recorded in the New Testament. After God called Paul and gave him his mission to preach the gospel around the Roman world, Paul set out on a journey that would test him to the core. He was lost at sea in a terrible storm, thrown in prison on more than one occasion, and even stoned outside the city walls and left for dead. But he never stopped. He never quit his mission, and he never regretted his decision to obey God’s instructions.

When it came time for Paul to die, he said, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race.” What are you doing with your time? Do you boldly serve God and His people? How do you change your world? Your days in this life are short. Focus your time and attention on what really matters. Make time for your Father in heaven and make each day a product of limited time well spent.
