Atonement: Covered, Reconciled, Made At-One
In American Sign Language interpreting, often times it is hard to have a simple sign to represent one English word because of the many potential meanings the word can have. Day of Atonement: Captivity and Liberty
The Day of Atonement is a Holy Day rich in meaning within God’s plan of salvation for all mankind. Within these meanings we find a connection to captivity and liberty: the Jubilee release of Leviticus 25, the binding of Satan pictured by the Azazel goat and Revelation 20, and the foreshadowed spiritual freedom Christ proclaims to a world still held in bondage.
