Steve was introduced to the church of God as a child and became a member in 1982. He has been married for 40 years and has two grown children. He serves as an elder in the Columbia, Maryland church.

He has been married to his wife, Rhonda, for 44 years and has two grown children, Brett and Alyssa. After graduating from college, he worked as civil engineer until he retired in 2023. He currently serves as an elder in the Columbia, Maryland, congregation.
