Judd Patton and his wife Jeanne began attending the Church of God in 1973 after a year of listening to Herbert Armstrong on the World Tomorrow radio broadcast. In their first ministerial visit, they counseled with John Elliott, who was the ministerial trainee on that visit! Since 1982 the Pattons have been serving in the Omaha, Nebraska church. They have three children -Janell, Jared and Jonathan and eight grandchildren.
Dr. Patton has been a professor of economics having taught at three colleges over four decades. As of September 2014, his new "retired" title is Professor Emeritus at Bellevue University. He has authored two books, co-authored an entrepreneurial history book on Richard McDonald, the founder of McDonald's Hamburgers and a fourth book, Thomas Jefferson's 1804 Abridgment of the Jesus' Words should be published soon. Dr. Patton and his wife were pleased to serve as proofreaders, in 2007-2008, for the publication of a historic Church of God Bible translation, The Holy Bible in Its Original Order: A faithful Version with Commentary.
