Our new website is a great place to learn a lot about what the Bible teaches: Christian living, prophecy and doctrine, and what the Bible actually says about subjects such as grace, law, the end times, marriage and family, just for starters.

I've already written about how to use the search function. Today I want to tell you about our streamlined menus that will quickly get you right away to most of what we have to offer, right away.

Let’s get started.

There are two main area of the website. The first place you come to is the Church section (the other area is the Beyond Today section). To see the menu on a phone or tablet press the menu button in the upper left and the menu will slide in from the left. You will see a tab for the United Church of God section where you’re at, then a tab underneath that for Beyond Today. Then a donate button. The next five tabs are the heart and core of the Church section. They are:

  • I’m New
  • Congregations
  • Sermons
  • Webcast
  • Contact

In the “I’m New” section, you can get acquainted with who we are and what to expect when finding a church congregation near you. Then in the “Congregations” tab you can find the closest church to you with contact information along with a map to guide you there. In the “Sermons” section you will be greeted with a featured a video sermon from the home office followed by the most popular recent sermons, newest sermons and a vast library of messages from a wide variety of ministers. Many of them have transcripts. If you have logged in you may want to add a few of these sermons to your study list to read or listen to later. You can search sermons using various criteria such as speaker, title, date and ;length.

The “Webcast” section features Sabbath services that are streamed live from the home office in Cincinnati. Check to see the schedule for the next one. Finally there’s a contact button for questions, address updates and help with the website.

On to the Beyond Today section of the site.

On your computer click on "Beyond Today" in the far upper left. On a tablet or phone press on the menu button in the upper left and then on the Beyond Today tab. Here’s where you get into the voluminous resources of our website. The tabs are:

  • Television
  • Magazine
  • Bible Study Tools
  • Youth
  • Webcast
  • Blogs
  • Contact

Entering “Television” you will be greeted with the most recently televised Beyond Today program. You can immediately start watching it. In the sub-menus under “Television” you will find archives of our programs and station listings.

Next the “Magazine” tab takes you to The Good News, soon to be Beyond Today magazine. There you can instantly read it in PDF and two other reader formats. You will then see a listing of past issues of The Good News. Remember all this content is searchable on any topics you would want by going to the search button on the top right part of the screen you’re looking at.

The most diverse menu button is “Bible Study Tools,” with seven sub-menus. This includes our booklets, Bible Study Course, Bible questions and answers, the Bible study series we've done, teen Bible study guides, Bible Commentary and study by topic. Lots of great stuff here!

Then we have a menu tab for youth. Also another tab for the live Beyond Today Bible studies that we webcast from the home office.

Then there’s the “Blog” tab that contains continual current blog material written by us commenting on what’s of interest, like what you're reading right now.

Finally the "Contact" tab for facilitating communication with you and inviting you to ask questions, comment or contact our webmaster.

There it is! This journey through our greatly improved menus will help you get the most of our website.

As it says in the book of Hebrews: "God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past…" (Hebrews 1:1). That includes the powerful capability of the Internet. I invite you to get a great spiritual meal by exploring and using the menu buttons on UCG.org.
