The love of money can be a root of evil (1 Timothy 6:10 1 Timothy 6:10For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

). However, the Bible is replete with stories of people who God blessed with riches. It is not a sin to have money—in fact, it is necessary that we do have enough to leave as an inheritance and to give to the poor. Learning how to handle our wealth is the key.

The Bible tells us that to have money, we must save money, which takes planning and accountability. God warns against being careless with money, but also hoarding wealth. There is a balance between letting greed dictate actions and being casual with blessings. Proverbs 30:8-9 Proverbs 30:8-9 [8] Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: [9] Lest I be full, and deny you, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.
