Annual Church Mammoth Cave Campout

The Bowling Green congregation is excited to announce the annual camping weekend at Mammoth Cave May 8-11, 2025 (Thur, Fri, Sat, Sun).   Church services campside will be Saturday at 2pm central time.  Come for all, or part of the fun!

We have several sites reserved.  The total cost for each site will be divided by the number of families.  Some sites will accommodate 2 families (up to 8 people), and some 3 families (up to 16 people).  It’s a lot of fun to share space and opportunity for great fellowship.  Please let me know ASAP, if you want a spot saved for your family.  There is a $10 per family non-refundable fee.

If you want to make your own reservations, please feel free to do that as well.

The weekend starts with fellowship around the campfire on Friday evening, Bible Study and Hymn Sing-A-Long.  We would love for you to bring your instruments for some live music.

We will have campfire side Sabbath services at 2 p.m. (central time).  Dress for services this day will be camp casual, modest clothing.

There are several cave tours you can reserve to do on your own or with others. To reserve other tours, call 877-444-6777 or visit recreation.gov

Bathrooms do have electricity. The bathhouse is a "pay shower", so bring quarters and flip flops!  We are all “camp clean” and are very casual with attire, so no need to feel as a requirement.

You will need to purchase firewood from the store at the entrance to the campground (we are not allowed to bring in firewood from outside the park).
There are great riding areas for kids and adults, so bring your bikes.  And great hiking paths as well.

Saturday night we will do a huge potluck, if you want to participate.  Hotdogs will be provided.  We ask the families to contribute either a side dish, dessert, and/or drinks to be shared.

The Mammoth Cave campgrounds keeps several campsites reserved for "same day/first come first served"- so do not be discouraged if you have tried to reserve a campsite on-line.  There will be plenty of sites available for camping, but reservations are recommended.  Each camp site has a fire pit ring and picnic table.  The number to call is 877-444-6777 or visit recreation.gov or visit the website www.nps.gov for more information on Mammoth Cave and area attractions.

I need to know how many persons (per family) and which day you are arriving (Thursday or Friday).

Also, ages would be helpful for the kids, and if they want to participate in special music on Sabbath.

Volunteers to do special music on Sabbath are much appreciated.

There is a $10 per family non-refundable fee that you need to pay, either by mail or Venmo.  I will let you know your balance due, and this is to be paid by April 8th.
