Mr. Dave: Aaaaaannnnnnnnnnd welcome back to the Otterville Bible Bowl! Hi, I'm local celebrity Mr. Dave! You might remember me from such films as The Man with the Wooden Heart and Grandma Got Stuck in the Bouncy House Part 2.
James: Alright, Bouncy House 2!
Mr. Dave: Now, let's check in on the scores. The yellow team is out in the lead with 9 points.
Yellow Team: Yeah! Let's gooooo!
Mr. Dave: But the blue team is hot on their heels with 8 points.
Blue Team: Blue! Blue! Blue! Blue! Blue! Blue!
Mr. Dave: I like your energy. I like your swagger. And I also like taco pizza. But hey, enough about me. The remaining four categories are all about the life of Jesus. And they are: In the Beginning. Jesus in the Old Testament. (What?) The Birth & Teachings of Jesus? And finally, Death, Resurrection, and Return.
Blue team, the floor is yours.
Jelly: Uuuum, let's go with... In the Beginning for 2 points, good Sir.
Mr. Dave: According to John 1:1, Who was with God in the beginning? Blue team.
Ella: The Word was with God.
Mr. Dave: That is... correct! The Word was with God. And the Word, fun fact, *was* God, Who became Jesus. Ella, the board is yours.
Ella: In the Beginning for 3 points.
Mr. Dave: Ahh, this next question is a Team-play Relay! What are 3 names for Jesus in the Bible besides the Word? Blue team.
Jelly: Our brother?
Mr. Dave: Yes.
James: King of... Kings, King of Kings!
Mr. Dave: Correct.
Ella: Son of God.
Mr. Dave: Great job!
Blue Team: Yes, let's go! All right!
Mr. Dave: Other acceptable answers would include our Savior, the Lord, and the I AM.
Jelly: Ooh, mysterious! Can we get In the Beginning for 1 point?
Mr. Dave: What did Jesus create? Was it... A. Angels, B. The earth, C. The first man, or D. All the above? Yellow.
Harry: C, the first man.
Levi: Good answer, good answer.
Mr. Dave: Oooh, great guess, Harry.
Jelly: We're going to go with D. All of the above.
Mr. Dave: That is... Correct! He and the Father created it all!
Blue Team: Yay! Let's go! Alright!
Mr. Dave: Blue team, once again, the board is yours.
Jelly: Let's go with... Jesus in the Old Testament, for 1 point.
Mr. Dave: In the Exodus, Jesus, before He became a human, spoke to Moses through a burning bush. Moses asked, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is His name?'" So, what did God say? Miss Cherry!
Cherry: I AM sent me to you?
Mr. Dave: That is... Correct!
Yellow Team: Yay!
Cherry: Yay! Yellow team!
Mr. Dave: Yellow team is back on the board.
Levi: That's so good to hear.
Harry: That's music to my ears, bro.
Cherry: Hmm... Old Testament, for 2 points, please.
Mr. Dave: In the Bible, we are told that the Rock led the children of Israel out of Egypt. Who is the Rock? James!
James: The wrestler guy from TV.
Otter: Huh?
Mr. Dave: I believe you are referring to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
James: Ah, yeah, you're right.
Mr. Dave: Yellow team, what is your answer?
Levi: I think the apostle Paul said "The Rock" was Christ.
Mr. Dave: You're right! Paul did say that!
Jelly: Let that one slide, son.
Mr. Dave: You clearly did your homework, young man.
Jelly: Way to go, Levi!
James: Yeah boy!
Jelly: What?
Levi: Let's do the birth and teachings of Jesus for 3 points!
Mr. Dave: Hey! Does everyone remember what that special sound means?
Yellow Team: What?
Mr. Dave: Another Team-play Relay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! T-team-play...
Harry: Yeah, sweet.
Mr. Dave: Team-play... Oh yeah. Jim, please put 8 seconds on the timer, please. And Jim, please thank your mom for that salmon glaze, banana lasagna. Cleared me right up. Great guy, really. For 3 points, name 6 words that describe Jesus or His attributes. Yellow team, go!
Cherry: Faithful!
Levi: Caring.
Harry: Uh, wise?
Cherry: Without sin!
Levi: Forgiving.
Harry: Um... Uh... Uh... Um... Uhhh... p-P-Patient!
Mr. Dave: Did we get it in time, folks?
Judge Jase: Bah!
Mr. Dave: Okay, 2 thumbs up.
Havarti: And an 8.3.
Mr. Dave: 2 thumbs up.
Havarti: And an 8.3.
Mr. Dave: I don't even know what that means.
Havarti: It means 8.3.
Mr. Dave: That's not even how we keep score in this game.
Havarti: It's a good score. It's an 8, a point, a 3. What's so hard to understand about that?
Mr. Dave: Oh, okay, folks! We're gonna give it to them. Congratulations!
Yellow Team: Yay! Let's go! Let's go, Harry!
Mr. Dave: Stay right there. We'll be right back after this commercial break. What's with the rat?
Announcer: Hey, you! Yeah, YOU! Did you know that all of Jelly's classic jams are on Spotify? Well, now you do. Okay! back to the show!
Mr. Dave: Welcome back to the Otterville Bible Bowl! Let's check in with the scores. The Yellow Team is in the lead with 15 points, but the blue team is hot on their heels with 14. Yellow, you're up.
Levi: Let's do the Birth & Teachings of Jesus for 3 points.
Mr. Dave: Okay, for 3 points: Name 3 of Jesus' brothers. Yellow.
Harry: Oh, I got this. I got this. James, Jude, and Simon.
Mr. Dave: Final answer?
Harry: Yes, Sir.
Mr. Dave: That is... Correct!
Yellow Team: Let's go! Jesus had four brothers, James, Jude, Joseph, and Simon.
James: Hmm!
Harry: Birth & Teachings for two points.
Mr. Dave: What is the only true foundation you can build your life on? Would you like a hint?
Jelly: Hint me.
Mr. Dave: Does 1 Corinthians 3:11 ring a bell? Blue team.
Jelly: Is it the Rock?
Mr. Dave: Which is what?
James: Ooh! Dwayne "The R--
Jelly: No, no, I got this, pal. Is it Jesus the Christ?
Mr. Dave: Great job, blue team! That's correct!
Blue Team: Yeah! Let's go!
Mr. Dave: Jesus is the only foundation you can build your life upon.
Jelly: Alright. How about the Birth & Teachings for 1 point?
Mr. Dave: As Jesus grew and started traveling from city to city, what was the message He was preaching? Yellow.
Cherry: Mmm... Uhh... The gospel of the Kingdom of God!
Mr. Dave: You got it!
Yellow Team: Yay! Yeah, let's go! Woo!
Blue Team: Good job, good job, good job!
Cherry: Death, Resurrection, and Return for 2 points, please!
Mr. Dave: Jesus came to this earth and lived a perfect life, then was crucified to pay the penalty for... Blue team.
James: Our sins.
Mr. Dave: Bingo!
Jelly: Bingo? I thought this was Jeopardy.
James: Death, Resurrection, and Return for 1 point, Mr. D.
Mr. Dave: Jesus is the head of the Church. What title is He given? A. Pastor General, B. The Governor, C. Assistant to the Regional Manager, Or D. Chief Shepherd. Blue team.
Ella: A. Pastor General.
Mr. Dave: Oh, I'm sorry, Ella. That's not the answer we're looking for.
Jelly: Nice try, Ella.
Cherry: We're going with D. Chief Shepherd!
Mr. Dave: Correctamundo!
Yellow Team: Yes! Woo, yay! Nice job, Cherry!
Mr. Dave: Blue team. The pressure's on. This last question will determine the winner of this year's Otterville Bible Bowl. Are you ready?
Blue Team: Yes! Yes! Yes!
Mr. Dave: Yellow team, are you ready?
Yellow Team: Yup!
Mr. Dave: For 3 points and the win, summarize what the Bible teaches about Jesus—from creation to His Second Coming.
Jelly: Ah! No, no, wait! Uh, how do you unpush this thing?
Mr. Dave: Ladies and gentlemen, this has never happened before in Otterville game show history. Two contestants have pressed their buzzers at the exact same time!
Cherry: So what does that mean?
Mr. Dave: Um, uh... Great question! Well, I believe it states in the bylaws that... Let's see... Umm... What we do in this case is, uhhh... Oh! We have a note from the judges. Thanks, Jim. It appears... It looks like we're going to have an old-fashioned sing-off!
Blue Team: A sing-off?
Mr. Dave: Indeed! A sing-off! You both must give your answer in the form of a song!
Yellow Team: A song?
Mr. Dave: Indeed! A song!
James: Jelly, you've been training for this your whole puppet life.
Jelly: I have?
James: You got those buttery rhymes, my guy.
Jelly: I do?
James: Yeah, buddy.
Jelly: Well, I do have a four-octave range.
James: Mmm, debatable.
Cherry: Mi-mi-mi-mi, mi-mi-mi-mi, mi-mi-mi-mi! La-la, la-la, la-la-laaaaaaa!
Jelly: Wow! She's still got it!
Cherry: Betty Botter bought some butter, Betty Botter bought some butter, Betty Botter bought some butter...
Mr. Dave: OK. For all the marbles...
Harry: We're doing this for marbles?
Mr. Dave: And a year's supply of taco pizza!
Harry: Now you're talkin'.
Mr. Dave: Ready? Set. Sing off! Peanut, you're on!
He was the Word in the beginning
He was the Father’s only Son
He was with God and yet He was God
He dreamed of wonders to be done
He and His father made the angels
He and His father had a plan
He made the earth in all its beauty
He made a woman and a man
Havarti: Not bad, junior. Now let's see what the pink one has to say.
He made them multiply and prosper
He was with Noah in the flood
He walked with Abraham and Jacob
He made them promises of good
He brought His people down to Egypt
He spoke to Moses of his name
He led His people through the Red Sea
He was the pillar and the flame
Mr. Dave: Positive. Catchy. So far, so good!
He gave the people His Commandments
He wrote the words upon the stone
He brought them to the land he promised
He built a nation of his own
He watched them grow into a kingdom
He saw the people turn away
He gave them over to be captives
He let them see a dreadful day
Mr. Dave: Well, that doesn't seem so good.
Jelly: Trust the process, Mr. D.
Just when it seemed all hope had vanished
He came to earth and lived with men
He taught the world of love and goodness
He healed the blind and sick and lame
He calmed the sea and raised the dead up
He showed the people how to change
He paid the price for every sinner
He gave His life and rose again
James: Bring us home, Jelly.
He’s calling people to His family
He’s sitting at His Father’s side
He is our brother and our high priest
He calls us now to be His bride
He will return when things are darkest
He will restore all things again
He will bring light and truth and beauty
He will bring goodness without end
Jesus, before the world’s beginning
Jesus, as far as you can see
Jesus, the Lord of all creation
Jesus is all these things to me
Mr. Dave: Thank you! Alright, folks. We have the final scores from our judges. This is going to be a close one. And the winner of this year's Otterville Bible Bowl is... What? That can't be!
Jelly: What can't be?
Mr. Dave: The song was so good that our generous judges decided to give both teams 8.3 points each, which means the Yellow Team is this year's winner!
Yellow Team: Yeah! Let's go, Cherry! Cherry! Cherry! Cherry! Let's go!
Havarti: Respect.
Jelly: Nice work, Ms. Berry. Nice work.
Cherry: You too, Jelly!
Mr. Dave: That's a wrap, folks. Kids, keep studying your Bibles. And pro tip: never microwave your salmon glaze banana lasagna in the office break room. See you next time on the Otterville Bible Bowl!
Mr. Dave: Team-play Re-lay! Team-play Re-lay! Team—
