Authority - Love It or Hate It

We all are under the authority of someone else at some point in our life—in school and in work we have someone over us.
Way back in 415 B.C. Euripides wrote: "Authority is never without hate." These words were true then and are true in today's world. We chafe under authority and struggle to be free, yet we know we can never be free of the authority of others, of God or of nature.
However, Proverbs 29:2 explains that when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice. A good leader who wields his or her authority for the good of everyone else will be respected and honored.
