Shut Up!

We do not like it when others tell us to shut up, perhaps because as children we were often told to zip our lip!

We tend to resent people who tell us to shut up—and resist them. Some people believe they have the right to tell another to shut up. That often seems like arrogance, so we resist inwardly, if not outwardly as well.

Ecclesiastes 3:7 explains that there is a time to keep silent and a time to speak. Knowing when to keep our mouths shut speaks volumes about our character.
