Northern Ohio Teen Completes a King's Task–Writes Out Pentateuch by Hand

Preparing for the Kingdom…one book at a time! The North Canton congregation recognized a significant achievement by one of its youth on Sabbath, Jan. 11. Vincent Del Signore, 13, recently finished writing out the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible) by hand. He was presented with a new watch from his parents and the North Canton congregation in acknowledgement of his accomplishment.

Vincent devoted many hours to this project, filling two five-subject notebooks and emptying many pens! When he was 12, he read Deuteronomy 17:18-20, which commanded the kings of Israel to write out the law. His parents encouraged him to consider this challenge in preparation for manhood.

About one month after his 12th birthday, Vincent officially made it his goal to complete it before his 13th birthday. His mother, Becky, is very proud of him and says that his handwriting improved during this endeavor. This is a wonderful challenge for anyone to try to do in a year. Vincent says he learned so much while writing and encourages others to do the same.
