2025 Feast of Tabernacles: Kalutara, Sri Lanka
In Kaluatara, Sri Lanka, 40 brethren from the United States, Australia and Sri Lanka celebrated yet another great Feast of Tabernacles.
After a successful Feast last year, the local brethren were excited to return to Turyaa Hotel, in Kalutara, Sri Lanka. We had visitors from the United States and Australia. Sprawled across six acres of ocean-front land, Turyaa featured sea view rooms with private balconies, dining spaces, two swimming pools, spa, a gymnasium and recreational activities.
The brethren stayed next to each other in two clusters of rooms on the fifth and sixth floors of the resort hotel, this time in the newer North Wing. Smiles and laughter of the rejoicing brethren continuously echoed during the Feast. The fellowship and unity during the Feast were remarkable.
Daily services were attended by 40 brethren at the conference hall. The awe and reverence for God was amply demonstrated by brethren in how they chose their priorities at the Feast. The spiritual meat was the central part of the Feast, complemented by outstanding special music from local and visiting brethren. The lyrics of the songs were meaningful and were great messages themselves. The ambience of the conference hall, adorned with lovely flower decorations, cluster seating and curtaining enhanced the festive mood.
In the evenings, some brethren would stroll on the beach and find some time to watch the sun set beyond the horizon, while some relaxed in the hotel premises. A few took a dip in the seafront. A highlight of the Feast was the baptism of a 75-year-old lady.
The visiting overseas brethren were very happy to visit the Galle Fort, explore the turtle hatchery and take a boat ride on the Madu Ganga watercourse. The participation of almost all brethren in events such as the interactive Bible study, cricket, volleyball, water polo, family day, game night and swimming was delightful.
We thank God the Father and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for Their presence, blessings and protection at this Feast.
