2025 Feast of Tabernacles: Nkhwazi, Malawi
It was a blessing to celebrate the Feast at the Nkhwazi church property in Mchinji, about 60 kilometers (37 miles) to the west of the capital city, Lilongwe.
Bright faces were the order of the day at Nkhwazi Feast site in Mchinji, Malawi. The happiness couldn’t be hidden in each of the 69 smiles. Both prospective members and long-time members camped at the Feast site. Mostly members came from the central region of Malawi but we also hosted family from Lusaka, Zambia, who had traveled to keep the Feast with us.
The opening video message from the home office set the pace at 6:30 p.m. Malawi time, reminding members why we attend the Feast of Tabernacles. We continued on the first day of the Feast with spiritual food provided by the elders of the Lilongwe and Nkhwazi congregations, Haiton L. Thungula and Cephas J. Chapamba. Throughout the week, topics focused on the Millennium and our future role in that Kingdom.
In addition to spiritual food, physical food was shared among the brethren from family to family in addition to food provided to the site from Church members in the United States.
Peace, happiness and love were experienced both in the Church services and physical activities. This was also an opportunity to train our youth in delivering sermonettes and leading songs.
The family day included activities such as sharing stories about Christian living, physical games and a variety show, in which everyone had the opportunity to share their talents. Since we were surrounded by people from the nearby villages, we invited football and netball teams to join us in sports competitions, and learn about who UCG is.
The eight-day period ended with a reminder that we are a family from all over the world especially when we consider the messages of best wishes we received from all over the world which were pouring in through emails, Facebook and WhatsApp. We anticipate yet another exciting Feast of Tabernacles as we await the Kingdom of God these days picture.
