2026 Camp Report: Pinecrest
God’s tremendous blessings were evident at Camp Pinecrest as we celebrated our 30th summer in southeast Missouri.
We praise and thank our Father and His Son for being present with us and for leading Their camp. Camp Pinecrest remains a special place to hold teen camp, as we always feel God’s hand and care around us!
For the third year in a row, we held a full camp with 108 campers and 75 staff members. As always, we offer a big thank-you to the staff volunteers who give of their own time and financial resources to attend camp, setting an example by living God’s way and demonstrating His love. Thank you to the campers who continually shine and make directing camp much easier. And thank you, parents! It is a joy to interact with and guide your teens!
The primary focus of the week was the Christian living theme, which started with an invitation to accept Jesus’ call to “Follow Me.” Campers and staff alike were challenged to consider what a committed life of following Jesus looks like. Jesus’ words, “Hear My Voice,” “Come to Me,” “Learn From Me,” “Love Me” and “You Follow Me,” each served as a daily focus as we progressed through the week. Campers welcomed the opportunity, and their actions reflected the powerful way God is working in their lives.
The hot weather did not dampen the campers’ positive attitudes or their enjoyment of time together. This year we added pickleball as a new activity and provided each dorm with a full activity session on “The Blob.” Campers also explored the topic “Is It Gossip?” in Bible class and analyzed practical scenarios relevant to their lives. Keeping activities fresh and Bible class engaging are high priorities so our week together remains fun and Kingdom-focused.
Thank you for your many prayers for Camp Pinecrest and all the UYC camps. We know we are lifted up and supported throughout the week, and God’s presence is continually felt as He leads this great program!
