Mammoth Cave Camping Weekend

The Bowling Green congregation is excited to announce the annual camping weekend to be held at Mammoth Cave May 8-11, 2025.

We have several sites reserved. The total cost for each site will be divided by the number of families. Some sites will accommodate 2 families (up to 8 people), and some 3 families (up to 16 people). It’s a fun opportunity to share space and great fellowship. If you want to make your own reservations, please feel free to do that as well. The Mammoth Cave campgrounds keeps several campsites reserved for "same day/first come first served," so do not be discouraged if you have tried to reserve a campsite on-line. There will be plenty of sites available for camping, but reservations are recommended. Each campsite has a fire pit ring and picnic table.

Bathrooms have electricity. The bathhouse is a "pay shower," so bring quarters and flip flops! We are all “camp clean” and are very casual with attire, so showering is not a requirement. You will need to purchase firewood from the store at the entrance to the campground (we are not allowed to bring in firewood from outside the park). There are great hiking and riding areas for kids and adults, so bring your bikes.

The weekend starts with fellowship around the campfire on Friday evening, Bible study and hymn sing-a-long. We would love for you to bring your instruments for some live music. We will have Sabbath services by the campfire at 2 p.m. (central time). Dress for services this day will be camp casual, modest clothing. On Saturday night we will have a huge potluck. Participation is optional and hotdogs will be provided. We ask families to contribute a side dish, dessert and/or drinks to share. There are several cave tours you can reserve to do on your own or with others. To reserve other tours, call (877) 444-6777 or visit recreation.gov or www.nps.gov.

To participate, please call or text Sheri at (615) 512-5533 or email spalding1221@gmail.com. Include which day you are arriving (Thursday or Friday). Please also include the ages of any children who will be coming and whether there is anyone in your family who would like to participate in special music on the Sabbath. Please contact Sheri ASAP if you would like a spot reserved on one of the group sites. There is a $10 per family non-refundable fee that you can pay either by mail or Venmo, due April 8.
