Artificial Intelligence - the Looming Threat

So, as you can see, brethren, today we do have a very important PowerPoint presentation, given as a sermon. I think it's going to be very eye-opening. And I want to thank Karen Lewis for inspiring a bit. She wanted me to give one on this when I talked to her about the subject. She said, make sure it's PowerPoint, because as an artist, I need images. So I went ahead and did this. So you can thank her for all the work I did on this. We begin with this coming feast of trumpets on Monday that foreshadows the coming of Jesus Christ. That marvelous period ahead, when human beings are going to be able to rest from wars, rest from evil, rest from pain, sickness, and suffering.

And it is going to be a dream come true. Mankind will not destroy itself, but one day will reach its potential for good. Notice in Acts chapter 3, verse 19 through 21, Jesus Christ had already gone up to heaven. This was during the day of Pentecost, when Peter gave this sermon, asking them to change their lives, to repent. I'll start here in verse 38 of Acts 2. It says, then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. And then the following sermon that Peter gave is in chapter 3. Starting in verse 19, he goes on to repeat what he had said before, Repent therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that the times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and he may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before.

So, looking forward to this coming kingdom for Christ to come back. That was the center of the teaching at that time. He's coming back. You better prepare. Verse 21, it says, Whom heaven must receive, which presently we are still in the time when heaven has received him, until the times of restoration of all things which God has spoken by the mouth of his holy prophet since the world began. This word restoration, it actually comes from a technical term used in medicine, for a complete restoration to health. It means something that was broken, was ill, and now it's going to be restored back.

So, it means putting things back to where they should have been. So, it's going to be a restoration, as the believer's Bible commentary mentions about this. It says, the times of restoration of all things point forward to the millennial, the millennial kingdom, the thousand-year rule. They point to the time when creation will be delivered from the bondage of corruption, and Christ will reign in righteousness as king over all the earth.

Now, some commentaries will say that. I don't know how many will preach in these different churches that truth, but it's there for everyone to read if they have eyes to read it. And so, we pray, thy kingdom come. And to look at the things above in Colossians chapter 3, 1 through 2, it says, look to those things that are coming to be encouraged because the things here on the earth are not the way God intended them to be.

And so, we have many reasons why Christ needs to come back and pretty soon. And this church, as it says in 1 Timothy 3.15, is the pillar and foundation of the truth. We're not here to talk to you about niceties and about how to receive Jesus Christ in your heart, and it's more of an emotional thing.

No, we're telling you the truth. And part of that is about repentance, about changing your life, looking forward to that coming kingdom. But we have to tell you about the truth that is happening today. We have to speak the truth in love with the right attitude, not in a mean or in a hard-fisted and hard-nosed type of way. It says, speak the truth in love with the right attitude, a caring attitude, but also it is a warning to the world.

And so, I want to share with you one of these threats that is now appearing over the horizon of mankind. It's a very serious one. Now, some people believe that through technology, we are going to have a world of wonders. We see progress all around. It's a much more computerized world. Now they're working on driverless cars, automated cars, and there's a great progress going on. There's what is called the Internet of Things, in which just about every apparatus in your home will be connected to the Internet.

And so, you can go ahead and, if you want to have a warm meal, you can just, with your phone, connect to the Internet and turn on your stove, or check what your refrigerator needs, or you can turn the air conditioning on or off, or the heating.

It's called that everything is going to be connected through the Internet.

But there's also something afoot which is very menacing.

It is subtle, gradual, but quite ominous, and we need to see what that is. The increasing awareness of what is happening in this computerized world that is just exponentially exploding before our very eyes.

Jesus Christ mentioned in Matthew 24 in verse 22, He predicted this would happen before He came, and He said, And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved, but for the elect's sake, those days will be shortened, because if God doesn't intervene, man will eventually destroy Himself. And that destructive power has been multiplied by the computer, the power of machines.

As a matter of fact, a nuclear weapon is a machine, programmed to detonate some hydrogen atoms, and actually it creates a fusion in which the hydrogen bomb goes off. The most powerful weapon ever invented by man, but it's inside a machine.

Machines made it possible. Here to my left is the computerized machine called the Hall 9000, and it was a computer that was used there on 2001, a Space Odyssey.

And this computer was so intelligent that eventually it turned against its own creators. And because it made a mistake, it would not admit to that mistake, and the operators in this spaceship began to doubt that it was working properly, and so the computer started feeling threatened and started killing off every one of those space astronauts. And it went down to the last man, who was eventually able to shut it down. But these supercomputers are happening, are coming into form. I don't know how many saw what happened here in July of this year, that a computerized robot went inside a garage, guided by the police, and detonated killing a man that was threatening them. That is the first time a robot is programmed in this way to kill a man. Now we have drones that do it all the time, but this was a robot that actually did it. And presently, 56 countries are working on robots and drones for the battlefield. So that's the future war, much more multiplied to the computer. So is this the way the world is going to end, instead of this beautiful world that people envision for the future?

We'll have to wait.

It is such a dangerous time. Man has made copies of different parts of its body, and of parts of animals in the past. For legs, men develop wheels, which are far more powerful than human legs. An automobile can go much faster than the fastest man on earth.

For hands, it uses different tools. You can grip a lot more with any type of a wrench than any the strongest man on earth. For wings, and man is now not only copying the legs, the tools for the hands, and the wings of animals like we have for planes, but we also now are copying the human brain. That's what a computer is. It's a design based on the human brain. The curve right now, we're in 2016, and the power of the computer is multiplying so quickly in an exponential way it is taking off.

That they're talking about in another 20 years that computers will eventually reach human intelligence. They will be able to have the intelligence of a human being, which is called, in technical terms, AGI, artificial general intelligence. Once it reaches artificial general intelligence, they say then it's a take-off with the artificial general intelligence beginning to improve itself, making copies of itself, writing better software because it's smarter than any human being, and eventually reach what they call singularity, which is where you reach artificial super intelligence, ASI. Once that happens, human beings are not in control of this whole computerized world. It's like a vastly intelligent increase 10 times more than humans, eventually 100 times because there's no limit to what you can do through computation. They call it a singularity, which is the moment when the human species is no longer the dominant species. There are many books out there, and I read this article that actually woke me up to it from The Economist magazine back in June 25, 2016, in which it talks about artificial intelligence and the threats of what is happening in our world. Now, some of the brightest minds on the earth are warning what is happening. For instance, Stephen Hawking, the great physicist that's in a wheelchair, he said he told the BBC, the development of full artificial intelligence could spell the end of the human race. It would take off on its own and redesign itself at an ever-increasing rate. Humans who are limited by slow biological evolution couldn't compete and would be superseded. Elon Musk, you've seen some of his cars, the Tesla car, the all-electrical car, he also has SpaceShipX, he's planning to have eventually manned a mission to Mars. It's one of the brightest minds out there. He said, our biggest existential threat is artificial intelligence. From this same Economist magazine, he says, with artificial intelligence, we are summoning the demon. What's talking about Satan? We are summoning the powers that can be so destructive.

We need to be super careful with artificial intelligence. It is potentially more dangerous than nuclear bombs. That's what got my attention. That's what got me when one of the brightest engineering minds on Earth. This man is one of the smartest and most talented entrepreneurs that we have out there. And when he says that this has the potential to be more dangerous than nuclear arms, it is something worth heeding the warning.

Lieutenant General Keith Alexander, he's a general working in the U.S.

Army and with all of the cyber weapons, he says the next war will be in cyberspace, which means in this computerized world, internet, we're already seeing different attacks, hackers into all kinds of defense and political groups and hacking into companies. This is the cyber warfare that is beginning because the computers are getting more and more powerful. Now, this war in cyberspace already happened a couple of years back when the United States and others, we don't know how many nations were involved, to slow down the Iranian centrifuges to build atomic weapons. And they actually were able to infiltrate and have computer viruses have a computer viruses that destroyed thousands of those centrifuges. Just from a computer focus of getting a virus that got the centrifuges to act on the program and they self-destroyed.

Set back the program for about two years. Yet some disregard this threat. They don't think man is going to be threatened with this artificial intelligence. It's not going to get to that super intelligence rate. But the the average scientist that's working in artificial intelligence says that by 19, I mean 2045, that that's when the threshold should be reached. Which we're talking about less than 30 years from now. That the breach will have been done. We will have created these supercomputers and they will have the capacity to just not only beat us at chess as they do today, but beat us in every endeavor that has to do with thinking.

Now this threat is a bit more subtle than nuclear bombs because after all you can't use these bombs unless in a war. So they're stored away, but artificial intelligence is part of our modern society. So this is an incremental threat. Right now the most powerful supercomputer on earth is not in the United States. It is in China. China finally exceeded the fastest supercomputer here in the United States. And China, as we know, is a type of a dictatorship. It's a political dictatorship with a more or less a bit manipulated, but it's an open market system, but with a dictatorship. And they are on their way to trying to develop the super intelligence in machines. And because of the growth that is happening, it is becoming unstoppable. The United States is racing toward it. Russia is racing toward it. Europe, because they know the first one who reaches the goal has what they call a first mover advantage. The first one is able to then stop the rest, because you have this super intelligence that will design the ways to slow everybody else down. So we have today artificial intelligence in our cell phones. Everybody who carries one, you have a voice assistant that basically can find things for you. It can search throughout the web to bring you instant information. And the internet is getting to be so powerful, because it has amassed so much information. If you get a computer that learns on its own, as it is becoming more and more apparent, it can grab the information of the internet and be able to use it for good or for ill. Nothing is stopping things at this time.

If you look at the curve, we're coming into a very dangerous period, maybe just a couple of years ahead to that 2045 period, when the breakthroughs will start. But during that period of time, we are going to have to either control what's going on or is going to run a mock. Run without the control. And since all of these nations are in a competition, they're not interested in putting too many controls. They want to see if they're the first ones to reach. First of all, AGI, artificial general intelligence, which is the intelligence level of a human being, and then super intelligence. This is what the world is getting excited about. More investment is going into artificial intelligence now than just about any other place. They call it, this is the hottest idol for investment in the world. People are rushing at breakneck speed, blissfully ignorant of this genie that we are letting out of the lamp. Believe me, it's going to be very hard to put that genie back again.

This artificial intelligence is used in Wall Street to calculate the prices on things. But again, it's incremental. It's just a little bit more at a time. It reminds me of the story of the frog in the kettle, that as long as you just heat it gradually, the frog gets used to it. So, one of these iPhones that you have today, or a smartphone, has more power than the IBM 360 computer that we had in Pasadena that cost $3.5 million. Of course, we couldn't buy it, so we had to rent it from IBM. And it took a whole room. I went into that computer room that had to have filtered air so that no dust would come in. But a smartphone is not thousands of times. It is millions of times more powerful than that 360 computer. And we are not aware of this. It's part of this scientific world. We're going through a knowledge revolution. And through the computer, this is becoming a different world. Now, in the last three years, as this article, The Economist, brought out, there was a big breakthrough in computer science. And it is called Deep Learning, in which the way the brain processes information was copied. And now, computers are using that, which is a type of learning. Deep learning is the scariest thing, because now computers, they just process information. And for instance, the first time that Deep Blue, the IBM computer that played these chess masters, see, it had so much information. In each move, it had to calculate just through millions of different scenarios, which would be the best. And eventually, they did beat the chess masters. But that was because of the massive amount of information. Now it's different. Through Deep Learning, it's not massive information, it's massive experience. And all these experiences are weighed according to their importance. And so you don't need to have 200,000 moves if you know what the best 100 moves are, and they're weighed according to what you have done. And so now, with this weighing of experiences, this machine age has taken a huge leap forward. And it's based on copying how our brain functions. It has a system to weigh these neurons that we have. It is based on experience, just like we learn not to touch the stove. And that's a you weigh that as a very important experience. Next time you're going to touch that stove, you're going to be careful because you know what has happened in the past. And so computers now have what are called artificial neuron networks, and it's based on the human brain. This is just a very recent breakthrough that they have done, but that is really pushing the advances to where eventually this artificial intelligence will have a capacity like human beings and then surpass it. Next. This is the biggest danger that we have because a man is going to pursue this until they finally achieve it. I don't know if it's going to be China, Japan, United States, or Europe. Who's going to have the breakthrough? Or many other nations, but you do need to have the most powerful computers. The U.S. still has the most, but China is really coming up to four. They're investing a lot into this. So we have the analogy of the tower of Babel again, but this time it's all going to be about just having one common language. It's having computerized power.

Notice what is mentioned in Genesis 11 verse 6. Genesis 11 in verse 6.

It says, And the Lord said, indeed, the people are one, and they all have one language, and this is what they begin to do. Now nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.

Come, let us, because here we're talking about God who became the Father and the Word who became Jesus Christ. They're talking about those that have the capacity to decide and determine come. It says, let us go down. And they confuse their language that they may not understand one another. Notice the us is in upper case because it is talking about divinity. Us has two or more. In this case, it's two, but at least more than one divine being which are talking there.

And artificial intelligence right now, those that are working on this, experts mentioned there are three different ways to attain that goal of general artificial intelligence like a human being would have. One is exponential computing power, which means it just grows and grows eventually until it is more intelligent than human beings. That it can outthink a person because they have so much information and massive power that they can outthink a human being. The second one has to do with biology and hooking up neurons and machines together, the biomechanics. And this is a whole new area of using. In a sense, you don't have to reinvent the wheel. You can use the brain plus the computer and multiply the information that way. And the third one is called reverse engineering, which is the one where you take the brain and you copy how it has done things and then you put machinery in its stead. So you just use that as a blueprint to design future machines based on the human brain, copying it from bottom to the top.

So we see what computers can do. The National Security Agency here in the U.S., they were found to have so much computing power that they were processing basically the telephone calls of virtually anybody, not only here but everywhere else. And of course, that caused a big scandal. You have government agencies intervening into electronic communications that human beings have. This is going on. And as long as it is just done in a narrow margin, that's where they say, well, a computer can do certain things, but it can't do all of these things. But that's where they're going, where a computer not only plays chess, but it can outsmart you in every different area of thinking. That's where human beings are headed. Especially that goal. That's kind of like getting that goal ring, that prize. This is the biggest motivator in companies and governments and also scientists in laboratories. They want to develop this supercomputer.

They also have the funding for it, not only from Wall Street, but also from the different governments. Notice what it says in Daniel 12.

It's kind of ironic here that I'm talking about computers and mine just ran out. Never had that. It seemed like a freak situation, but that's the way you can't control. But sometimes things happen. Daniel 12, verse 4, it says, But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase. I like the way the Living Bible has it. It says, But, Daniel, keep this prophecy a secret. Seal it up so that it will not be understood until the end times.

When travel and education shall be vastly increased. It's certainly happening now. I had a graph I was going to show you of the gross national product. That means what a nation produces every year. And it started back in a thousand years ago. And basically, the graph just barely gets off the ground. Maybe 3% is all that gross national product until it hits 1900. And from 1900, it starts rising. And when it hits the year 2000, it just shoots up. This is the computing power. This is the power that human beings have now. Things are multiplying in an exponential way. Now, there is enough money. There are enough scientists or enough nations that are involved. Look at the drones that we can now guide from the United States. They are all over Afghanistan and Iraq. And they can stay there for hours and hours at a time. And they've got computers in them that can see. They can detect what's going on. And they've used them to kill people. So don't tell me this is just science fiction.

This is science facts, unfortunately. Right now, in the computer field, with artificial intelligence, again, through deep learning, image recognition has reached the point where it has finally surpassed human beings. A machine can recognize images better than a human being. It has reached 96% where human beings can reach 94-95%. Machines now have reached 96% of image recognition. I remember a movie years ago, a Spencer Tracy movie, called Edison the Man.

I was really impacted at the end of that movie when Spencer Tracy as Edison gave a speech. And he said, when I developed the dynamos to produce electricity to power the electric bulb, I had two dynamos. And when I got them going, they started spinning, but at different speeds. And it started throwing the whole machine out. So we had to turn it all off before it broke itself up. And then he just put a belt around the two of them and set it up so that they would spin in harmony. And that way he was able to solve this problem. But then he says, now human beings have a problem just like these dynamos. And one of those dynamos is technology, and the other one is morality. And if you don't connect the two, they will go out of control. And human beings are becoming less moral, but more technological than ever before. We don't have that belt, we don't have that timing belt to control these things. They're going out of whack.

And just as Christ had prophesied in Matthew 24 verse 22, unless God intervenes, mankind would eventually destroy itself. And this is one of the reasons we have let open this Pandora's box of computerized power, and we can't close it again. It's too convenient, it's too powerful. Every nation wants to get there to the top, to get the smartest machines.

If and when artificial super-intelligent arrives, it's going to change the whole world. Like most scientists in this field predict, we're anywhere from 20 to 40 years off to eventually outwit mankind, and there's a frenetic race to be the first ones.

China, Russia, the United States, Europe, they want that first mover advantage.

But we're going to have major mistakes through this artificial intelligence. For instance, the flash crash of 2010, where all of a sudden the stock market just started dropping like a stone, and it was because of a faulty computer program that when the share started falling, it started sending the orders to sell and to sell, thus causing a bigger drop. And then, instead of stopping there, it sent the information so other computers started selling. And they had to eventually just put a stop to the machine because the whole thing was starting to crash all through computerized trading, which is taking place every day of the week.

One of the big dangers that we have is the electric grid system that controls electricity throughout the United States. That's connected to the internet, that's connected to hackers, there's a big concern about that. As you know, the internet is not going to be controlled by the United States anymore. The government is turning it over to other agencies, the most powerful machine ever created. You have Google working at artificial intelligence, and then you have what is called a DARMA, D-A-R-P-A, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

That's part of the Department of Defense, and that is the agency which invests in improving weaponry of all the armed forces. DARPA is investing through Google and many other agencies. They want a super intelligent machine. They're spending not millions, but billions of dollars. And so this is one of the reasons Jesus Christ has to return. Man is going to outsmart himself.

Now, like I said, the nuclear bombs, they're stored away, but this artificial intelligence is so intoxicating. It is so profitable. It is so helpful that we're enamored with it. We want to use more of it. We want a machine that tells us more information when we search the internet. And the Bible speaks of a world controlled by what is called the Mark of the Beast, where you have the identities of people registered, and the economy is based on it.

Now, what's going to cause that Mark of the Beast? Notice in Revelation 13, Revelation 13 and verse 12, talking about this second beast that is going to arise in the times of the end, it says, and he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast whose deadly wound was healed.

He performs great signs so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and he deceived those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. He causes all both small and great, rich and poor. So let's talk about the general population. Free and slave to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark of the or the name of the beast or the number of his name. Here is the wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man. His number is 666.

And so it's talking about a system that's going to be controlling human beings. It's going to control employment. It's going to control who can buy things, who can sell things, and that people are going to have a sign on them. If you don't have it, then you're not going to be able to do these things. You're going to be ostracized. You're going to be separated from mankind. How would you like to have all your nice little credit cards removed and all your checking accounts, and that you have to live off of cash? And if you can get a part-time job somewhere where your identity is not going to be revealed through all of this information technology, how many people are going to put up with that? Again, the Bible tells us what is going to happen, but it doesn't tell us too much. Why? What's going to motivate people to give themselves up in this way? It's going to have to be a very powerful system that people are going to feel like, I don't have any choice in the matter. I want to survive. I want my family to eat. I want to live in a house where I can make payments, because if it was just an option, many people would just say, no, I'd rather not. Just like now people have solar power, and they say, I'd rather just not have the grid. I'd rather just have my own electricity. Or you can have an option like that, but here it says that people are not going to have a real choice. And again, we don't know everything involved. I think God is going to reveal the details when it's necessary, but I just want to bring up that this is a period of time when knowledge will be controlled by machines. Agencies will have the power to know everything about us, our identities, and will break the will of those who resist them.

Notice in Revelation 11, verse 15, It says, Then the seventh angel sounded, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever. So there is going to be a time when God's going to intervene. He says, that's enough. You're going to destroy yourselves. You're going to become another one of these science fiction-type movies where everything is controlled by machines, and you're going to have a select few that pull the levers, and nobody's going to have privacy, their own will to carry things out. Again, we see this in the distant future, but it's coming at a breakneck speed. Continuing on, it says here, verse 17, Notice it doesn't talk about immortal souls already being judged. No, that's when they're going to be judged, and that you should reward your servants, the prophets and the saints, and those who fear your names, small and great, and should destroy those who destroy the earth. Again, it's like an old sci-fi movie where all of these unintended consequences were developing the computers and were connecting them to other computers and multiplying the power, not knowing. We're not ready for this.

Man still has human nature. He has greed. He has hate. And with these supercomputers that they are imitating what a human being is doing, we're going to lose control. Unless again, it's just too hard to happen. Some think that since we do have a spirit in man, it's not just a brain. We have a spirit in man. They'll never be able to reproduce the spirit, but they can certainly take the brain and keep multiplying its power time and time again. So what can be done?

First, we have to focus on Thy kingdom come. We are living in an age where computers are taking over more and more jobs. They're becoming so powerful. The problem is that we're giving them our understanding, our knowledge, and with that comes goals that the computer is going to set for itself. And it's going to want to continue with those goals, and it's going to get to the point where it doesn't want to get turned off. It will protect itself. It will defend itself with the massive amount of intelligence that it has.

And so we have to pray, Thy kingdom come. In 2 Thessalonians 2, verse 9, here's the antidote to all of these things that are coming in the future. What can we hold on to? 2 Thessalonians 2, verse 9, talking about the coming of the lawless one, is according to the working of Satan with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And so we have a love of the truth. God is on our side. Jesus Christ is going to bring a kingdom. We better be on God's side, as once they asked Lincoln, and they said, well, whose side do you think God is on? And he says, well, I want to be on God's side. I'm not worried so much about God backing us up as us backing him up, and we need to back him up.

The love of the truth is the antidote. We have a way of life. It's not based on having computers, control our Sabbaths, our holy days, our way of life. We are going to continue on this way. We've got the Feast of Tabernacles very close by. Why? Because God wants to keep us focused on that coming kingdom, thy kingdom come. In Revelation 12, verse 16, we see here the identifying signs of the woman who is going to be protected. In Revelation 12, verse 16, when Satan is going to be using these beast powers to control the earth, and it's going to go after the church, it says in verse 16, but the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood, which the dragon, talk about Satan, had spewed out of his mouth, and the dragon was enraged with a woman. And he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. And so it talks in verse 14, the woman was given two wings of a great eagle that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time from the presence of the serpent. You wonder if that's not just God taking us away from this electronic world and the mark of the beast and everything that's being controlled. He has to get us out to a place where we're not going to be electronically tagged, where we aren't going to be controlled by some of these supercomputers. And they already exist. There are over 200 here in the United States. China is very close to it. Supercomputers are computers that have much more capacity than a normal computer. It's talking about the integrated circuits that are just thousands of times more powerful. And so the woman is going to be protected. It doesn't look like we're going to have TV in that place of safety. We're probably not going to have computers. We're going to have Bibles, like some have said, three and a half years of finishing school, preparing to reign when Christ comes back. And I don't know. We'll have to wait and see. But what we have as an indication is that the world is going to be controlled, and they're going to know everything about us, except for those that are not connected, who do not participate. And again, what is the mark of the beast? We'll know that in the future. But I can tell you the system that is working, it's going to be with computerized power, because it is and it's growing more and more. Notice the two signs of the church. Those who keep the commandments of God, that includes the fourth commandment. God doesn't say keeps the nine commandments, or some of them, he says, the commandments. So that means Sabbaths, feasts, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ, that they are walking like He is walking. Would Jesus Christ keep the Feast of Tabernacles today? Of course He would. He kept the Passover. He met with a brethren there during those 40 days, and then He sent the Holy Spirit to them on the day of Pentecost. Of course He would, because those are the ones who love the truth.

So we have to pray and prepare with these coming feasts. Let's go to the last verse here. We're going to read 2 Peter chapter 3. This is the last passage. 2 Peter chapter 3 verse 10.

It says, But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night. It's going to surprise people. Probably people are going to be so connected. They're going to have the oculus helmets, and they're going to be in their virtual world, smoking their weeds, as we will soon be doing in California, and just la-la land. And all of a sudden Christ is coming back, because that's not the world He designed for human beings. He designed a world where people are going to have family relationships, and they're going to serve each other and love each other, and there's not going to be war. That's the world He is coming to build, not this sci-fi, super science world. Everybody's connected. Everything is titillated and connected through neurons to titillate and to stimulate everything that has to do with pleasure, many times in the wrong way and attitude. God has a different idea. And so He says about this present world, He says, But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. This is the end period, because the Lord's coming, but that coming is going to take all the way through to the New Jerusalem. That's the day of the Lord is when Jesus Christ is intervening until the New Jerusalem comes down, and then it's going to be the day of God Almighty, God the Father coming down with that New Jerusalem. But before that, it is Christ's day. It is His period to intervene. And so eventually, all of man's works, all the blood, all the greed, all the money, all this is going to be burned up. Both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved of this present society, what manner a person's ought you be to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat. Nevertheless, we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells, God's right way of life. So yes, man is again the saucer's apprentice. We're out here with all of these magical things. Yes, they're talking about that human beings, through computer power, will eventually create things that look like magic because it will give them so much power. But eventually, in the wrong hands, this is going to be our Armageddon, and Christ is going to come back and intervene. So, brethren, as we finish today this message and we're in this Feast of Trumpets weekend, let's remember this is one more reason why Jesus Christ has to come back on this earth.
