Well, good evening, brethren, to our continuation on the study on the Book of Revelation.
We are going to cover quite a lot of material today. So, as a matter of revision, some of the key events that we've seen is that the first four seals are false religion, wars, hunger and death. This is the stage at the moment we are under, and as we can see how things are happening, it's very, very sad and very horrible happening now in Ukraine. We really don't look forward to the sad days ahead. But we do know that God is merciful, and if we are faithful as true Christians, and we are counted worthy by him, we will be protected. Part of the Church will be protected during the soon-coming Great Tribulation.
The Great Tribulation is the fifth seal. Then that period of influence will be reduced or cut short, minimized, and the sign of that is the heavenly signs, which is the sixth seal.
Then we also saw that there is a time in which God seals a number of people.
Those we saw are the ones that have repented during the Great Tribulation. Then we get to the seventh seal, which is the Day of the Lord. As we explained, the seventh seal is actually running in parallel with the Great Tribulation. I explain as the seals are opening, are open, the other seals remain open and continue happening. The seventh seal is for a period of one year. That's the Day of the Lord, the prophetic view of a day for a year.
And then we also saw that the Day of the Lord unfolds, or the seventh seal unfolds, into seven trials. The first four trumpets affect a third of the earth, a third of the sea, a third of the rivers, and a third of all light. Then we also cover that the fifth trumpet is also called the first woe. It's when the beast attacks the group of people from the east and the north, and people are tormented for five months.
Then we are on to the sixth trumpet, which is the second woe, which we also explain being the counter-attack of the east north, and it shows that a third of the world's population being killed, except those sealed by God in their full heads. Those would not be killed or affected.
And it also is saw that that counter-attack is by an army of 200 million soldiers.
These two opposing sides now reach this point. They're ready to destroy each other, but thanks to Christ's coming and personal intervention, you will save mankind from utter destruction. So what do we have? The next event to happen is the seventh trumpet, which is also called the third woe, which is basically Christ's coming and the resurrection.
However, we now get to a point that there is going to be some inset chapters.
So let me summarize this in a slightly different way. We have seen seven seals.
We have covered the first six seals. The sixth seal, which is the heavenly signs, is God's warning that the day of the Lord is coming. All the events during this period are symbolized by the day of trumpets. It is important to understand that these events are symbolized by the day of trumpets. That's for one year, and we saw the first four trumpets affect a third of the earth, of the sea, of the rivers, that's fresh water, and also of all the light that comes out through the sun, or the moon, or the stars. Then we looked at the first and the sixth trumpets. So now we are basically ready to talk about the seventh trumpet, which is the third well, which is the return of Jesus Christ, the first resurrection, and a whole lot of other events. So it is important for us to understand that the return of Jesus Christ includes a whole series of events, a whole series of activities. So that is important for us to understand.
So we have covered up to the sixth trumpet.
The next one for us to cover is the seventh trumpet, but today we'll not cover the seventh trumpet because there are a number of inset chapters, more specifically chapter 10 and 11, which we plan to cover today. Chapter 10 and a portion of chapter 11. So let's look at Revelation chapter 10. As I said, these are inset chapters.
I'm also calling them inset sections because, for instance, chapter 11, not all of it is an inset chapter. From verse 15 of chapter 11, that continues with the story. It's not an inset section. So an inset section or inset chapter is now from chapter 10 all the way through to chapter 11 verse 13. So those are inset chapters, stroke inset sections. There will be others as well that will make reference to as we get to them. So once again, inset chapters, they bring us additional details and other factors which makes us aware of separate, sometimes parallel events which contribute for us to have a fuller prophetic picture. So those bring us additional information, which is pretty important. So let's read verse 1 and 2. I saw still another mighty angel coming down from heaven clothed with a cloud and a rainbow was on his hand. His face was like the sun and his feet like pillars of fire. He had a little book open in his hand and he set his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land. So yeah, we see an angel with great power and authority.
And he has this angel has a little book. Now it's notes that this little book says it's open, had a little book open. Now think about the book of Revelation was sealed with seven seals. This one is open. So it is smaller and it is open. Now let's continue reading in verse 3 and verse 4. And I cried with a loud voice as when a lion, as when a lion roars. And you know, not I. And he cried the angel and he when he cried out seven funders utter their voices. Now when the seven funders utter their voices, I was about to write. But I heard a voice from heaven saying to me, seal up the things which the seven funders uttered and do not write them. So we can see that John was able to understand this additional revelation, but he was not, but he was specifically told not to write it down. So now we have John the apostle.
He understood what was said, but he was told not to write it down. Now understand there are certain things in prophecy and in the Bible that are secret and they belong to God. For instance, if you read the Deuteronomy 29 verse 29, the secret things belong to the Lord our God.
But he gives us the things that we need to understand for salvation and to obey Him.
But there are certain things that God in His wisdom believes that we should not know yet at the time.
So these are secrets which God in His wisdom did not consider it wise for mankind to hear at this stage.
Now I want to refer to Psalm 29 verse 3 through 9.
Psalm 29 verse 3 to verse 9.
Now in this psalm we can see here Psalm 29 verse 3 to 9 says, The voice of the Lord is over the waters, the God of glory thunders. So Yah is God talking like a thunder and it says, the Lord is of many worlds.
The voice of the Lord is powerful. The voice of the Lord is full of majesty.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars. Yes, the Lord splinters the cedars of Lebanon. He makes them also steep like a calf, Lebanon and Syrian like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire. The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness. The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forest bed and His temple. Everyone says glory.
So where the voice of the Lord mentioned seven times.
And it is a case in which we can see that the voice of the Lord thunders. And therefore, there is some instruction here in the voice of the Lord, which is like a thunder.
And it is showing Yah God's power and God's great strength.
But therefore, because we don't know, and the Bible doesn't tell us, we don't know what the seven thunders uttered. But it could be pointing to God's perfect intervention in this judgment or in this punishment period. Because as we look here, God is God's voice. The voice of the Lord is like a thunder. And all along it shows God's wisdom and perfection in His actions. And so it is possible that some of the comments of these thunders could imply, again, this is speculative, but could imply God's perfect intervention at this time of serious punishment. God is intervening with great wisdom and knowing He's in absolute control, and it shows His power and His authority. Now let's read verse 5 through 7 of Revelation 10.
And the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land, raised up his hand to heaven, and swore by him who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things that are in it, the earth and the things that are in it, and the sea and the things that are in it, that they should be delayed no longer.
But in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, that's the seventh embossed trumpet, what is about the sound, the mystery of God would be finished as He declared to His servants the prophets. So we can see this angel that's standing on the sea and on the land, making a very solemn oath, and basically showing that it is an oath by God's authority, and understanding that God is a sovereign ruler.
We read, for instance, in in Hebrews chapter 1 verse 2 and 3, Hebrews chapter 1 verse 2 and 3, that it says that in His lost days God is spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom He also made the worlds, who be the brightness of His glory and express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Big part. So we can see God is a sovereign ruler, and He gave Christ the authority because He says He created all things through Christ, through His Son. But God is a sovereign ruler. He is a complete authority. And the eye says there should be no delay no longer. Time is up. There's no further delay. This is the hour. So as we get to the end of the sixth trumpet and the beginning of the seventh trumpet, and this the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, the seventh trumpet, that's it.
There's no further delay. This is it. This is the hour. This is when Christ's going to come. This is when there's going to be a resurrection, and there's going to be no further delay. So the day of trumpets, the seventh trumpet, the lost trumpet, Christ's coming, the resurrection of the saints, there's no further delay.
I know there are some people saying, well, there's a delay, yeah, and whatever, between the resurrection, or whatever, brethren, this is very clear. There should be delay no longer. And thus, he is an angel swearing by him who lives forever, an angel giving a solemn oath with great authority that there would be no delay. Because when he sounds the seventh angel, the mystery of God would be finished as he declared to his servant of prophets. The mystery of God will be revealed.
Now, Romans 8, verse 16 through 23. Romans 8, verse 16 through 23 says, the Spirit of himself bears witness with our Spirit, we are the children of God. And if children then heirs, heirs of God and joint heirs of Christ, if indeed we suffer with him, then we may also glorify, be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly awaits the revealing of the sons of God.
There'll be no further delay. This mystery of God, of us, those that are ready, that are considered worthy, they will be resurrected at this time. So there'll be no further delay. And the creation was subject to futility, not willingly, but because of him was subjected in hope, because the creation itself also be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. This is the mystery of God of what this whole universe and everything that is going to come up and beyond is going to be revealed.
And the beginning of this mystery of God revelation is God having his children. That is the pinnacle of all prophetic events. And so clearly, events at Christ's coming are symbolic of this great day of trumpets, this holy day of trumpets.
If you read in Jeremiah 31 verse 34, this is the time when it comes and it says, you know, they will know me, they all shall know me. This mystery will be known. So it is a great, exciting time. Yes, it is a great, exciting time. But, but yeah, is the meaning interesting about this little book, because yes, it is an exciting time of Christ's coming. But you know what, brethren, before Christ's coming, there's going to be some terrible times that will make our stomach better. You see, the voice which I heard that's in verse eight from heaven spoke to me again, go and take the little book which is open in the hand of the angel who stands on the sea and on the earth. So is it the same voice that is mentioned in Revelation 4 verse 1 and Revelation 1 verse 10 through 13? We don't know, but it could be. But anyway, it is also for your information. It is the third time that the phrase that this angel standing on the earth, on the sea, and on the land. The land or earth is the same Greek word. This third time that this phrase is mentioned, mentioned in this chapter in verse 2, verse 5, and in verse 8. So it is symbolic that this angel indeed has great authority. Now verse 9 through 10 says, So I went to the angel and sent to him, gave me the little book, and he said to me, take and eat it. Eat the book, and it will make your stomach bitter, but it will be as sweet as honey in your mouth. Then I took the little book out of the angel's hand and ate it, and it was as sweet as honey in my mouth. But when I'd eaten it, my stomach became bitter. Sweet as the hope of the coming reign of Christ and the establishment of his kingdom on earth, this hope, the preaching of this gospel, it is such good news. It is sweet.
But as we've got to go through these days, in the next few years ahead, we can just see it, the terrible things that are happening in Ukraine. One of the brethren said in some pictures of some people, I don't want to describe them, but they were terrible, terrible brethren, how people are suffering. These terrible events are bitter in one's stomach. My stomach became bitter, said John. We have a parallel analogy in Ezekiel chapter 2.
So let's briefly look at Ezekiel chapter 2. Ezekiel chapter 2. Starting in verse 8, it talks about, but you, son or man, hear what I say. Do not be rebellious like this. Let rebellious house open your mouth and eat what I need you. And when I looked, there was a hand stretched out to me, and beyond the scroll of a book was in it.
And then he said in chapter 3 verse 1, son or man, eat what you find, eat the scroll and go, speak to the house of Israel. And then towards the end of verse 3, says, so I ate it, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness.
And then he said, son or man, go to the house of Israel and speak with my words to them. We are not sent to a people of unfamiliar speech and of hard language but to the house of Israel. But, and then it shows, you know, so I, then it shows in verse 7, it says, but the house of Israel will not listen to you because they will not listen to me for all the house of Israel are imputed, imputed and hard-headed. And a little later in verse 14, you read, so the Spirit left me up and took me away and I went in virtuous in the heat of my Spirit, but the hand of the Lord was strong upon me. You see the message initially of repentance, of bringing people to change, of preaching the Gospel as a witness, initially went to Israel. But now it's a message of repentance to all peoples. It goes to all nations. At this moment, I also want to draw an analogy to something that Daniel saw and he also, when he heard this, he also fainted and was sick for many days. And this is in Daniel chapter 8 verse 27. At the end of this chapter, he says, and I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days. So Yah is a message, equally horrible, and made Daniel sick for days. So Yah, we see a parallel. There is a message of hope, of the good news, but when we get to these terrible days, then it's better in the stomach.
And in parallel, or in analogy, when Daniel saw these visions, which was to the lost days, he was also sick for days. Very sick. If we read in Daniel chapter 8 verse 23 through 25, you see, and in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors had reached their fullness, when wickedness had reached fullness, a king shall rise, having fierce features who understand sinister schemes. His power shall be mighty, but not only by his own power, because it's satanic power. He shall destroy fearfully, and shall prosper and thrive. He shall destroy the mighty, and also the holy people. So clearly, it's a time of the end, and therefore, we can see a parallelea to this little book that is eaten, and it's sweet in the mouth, but it's better in the stomach, because the news, the information there, is terrible.
And verse 25, through his cunning, he shall cause deceit, in other words, falseness, but it could also imply words like witchcraft, deceit, to prosper, under his rule.
And he shall exalt himself in his art. He shall destroy many in their prosperity. He shall even rise against the prince of princes. That's Christ. So it really is a time of the end that this shall come, but he shall be broken without human means, which ties you back to that stone, cut without hands, that hit the feet of Daniel's, Daniel 2 image. And then we read in verse 27. I'll skip verse 26 for the time being. In verse 27, I, Daniel fainted and was sick for days afterwards I rose and went about the king's business, but I was astonished at the vision, but no one understood why I was so astonished. So, yes, Daniel saw these events at the end time. That allailed to this little book that the apostle John saw, but he was not allowed to describe.
That it was sweet to the mouth, but bitter to the stomach. And understand, this message in Daniel chapter 8 has two time markers. One is a time marker, which we'll look at it in a moment, which was at the time of the Greece and Persia, which we'll look at it in a moment. But it also has a duality in it to the future, because the partia that struck Daniel up your part was this part that applies to the future. Look at verse 15 through 19. Then it happened when I, Daniel, had seen the vision and was seeking the meaning, that suddenly stood before me, one having the opinions of a man. And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Uli, who called and said, Gabriel, make this man understand the vision. And it was Gabriel, explaining to Daniel what the vision means. So he came near where I stood, and when he came, I was afraid, and I fell on my face. But he, Daniel's, I beg your pardon, he, Gabriel, said to me, understand, son of a man, that the vision refers to the time of the end.
So there is a component of the vision which was applicable at that time, and it is important for us to understand what was applicable at that time, for us to project it to the future. Because one of the major implications is the future. He refers to the time of the end. Now, as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep with my face to the ground. I mean, he fell down and he got down, but he touched me and stood me upright. And he said, look, I am making known to you what shall happen in the latter time of indignation, in the latter time of indignation, for at the appointed time the end shall be. So Daniel had a vision here of what he could see at the time of the end, and thus made him sick to the point that he says he fainted and was sick for days. All right, so let's briefly summarize Daniel 8 and put this into this picture.
Daniel 8 is the story of the ram and the goat. Ram is Persia, which is the second kingdom of Daniel's great image. In Daniel 2, we went through that before. The goat is Greece, the third kingdom, and Greece is split into four. You read that in Daniel 8 verse 8. It says, therefore, the male goat, which is Greece, grew very great. But when he became strong, he was broken. So this very great was Alexander the Great, and he very quickly conquered, but then he died. But when he became strong, the large horn was broken. Alexander the Great died, and in place of it, four notable ones came up towards the four winds of heaven. It was the way the kingdom was divided into four regions, north, south, east, and west. And that's what happened.
Now, we have looked at this chart before, so just as a matter of revision, Yah is the ram of the two horns, and the e-goat, the great horn, and the four notable ones. So the ram is Persia, the goat is Greece, Alexander the Great, so these are the Greek kingdoms. And then, so it's just trying to put this Danielite into the time frame of many years ago, right, into that time frame of many years ago before Christ. But Daniel also projects this into the future. All right, so with this in mind, let's look a little bit more at Daniel 8. We've said, again, the ram and the goat. The ram is Persia, the goat is Greece, the second and third kingdom of Daniel 2's image. Greece is split into four, north, south, east, and west, as I explained. Then, in verse 9, it says, and out of one of them came a little horn. Now, the little horn is jewel, is jewel.
A little horn which grew exceeding right towards the south. Out of one of them, that means out of the north, out of the kingdom of north. And as I've mentioned before, there is a booklet that the church publishes, the Middle East Bible Prophecy, and it's got a section here that covers it very clearly, the north and the south, the kingdoms of the north and the south. That's starting from page 18, entitled The Four Empires of Daniel's Prophecies. And there it covers also this part of the break of Greece into four, north, south, east, and west. And then it describes, in great detail, the kingdom of the north and the king of the south. So, I suggest that you do read the Middle East in Bible Prophecy. It's a very fascinating book. It's got a lot of good content. It also has a lot of understanding and explanations about the rise and fall of Islam and some fundamentalist Islam researchers. So, there's got a lot of good material explaining who are the Sunnis, who are the Shiites. That's very important because we believe the Sunnis will become the kingdom of the south, a Sunni union. So, okay, so that put aside. Let's continue now. This little horn is dual. So, let's look a little bit more in detail from Revelation, I've been part of Daniel 8, verse 9 through 12. It's talking about this little horn exalting itself and we know from history that it was Antiochus Epiphanes, which was a Greek leader of the Seleucid group, in the words of the North. And he then in 167 BC took Jerusalem by storm and enforced Hellenization and that is the Greek approaches of Greek gods. And therefore, that caused a lot of friction of the Jews, the Jewish community, and at that moment he put a pig in the temple and that's what was the establishment of the abomination of desolation. So, in YHWH, in verse 9 through 12, it says that he exalted himself as high as the prince of the host. He was as high as God, and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away. This was the abomination of desolation, that's what he did, and the place of his sanctuary was crossed down because of the transgression, because of the sin. An army was given over to the horn to oppose the daily sacrifice. So, an arm means like ability power, so it was given to this little horn, this power, to actually conquer areas and to stop, to oppose the daily sacrifice, and stop the daily sacrifices. And he crossed truth down to the ground, he did all this and prospered.
Now, if you know a little bit of history, we'll get to that in a moment, but about three years and a bit later, there was, I mean, at that time, they started to have a rebellion, which was called the Maccabean Revolt, and that revolution, that revolt, led up to three years and a bit later to cleanse the temple and rededicate the temple.
So, let's read here in verse 13. Then I heard a Holy One speaking, and another Holy One said to that certain one that was speaking, how long will the vision be concerning the daily sacrifices and the transgression of desolation? So, how long will this abomination on the temple, that the temple would be having this desolation? Because we do know that there was this Maccabean Revolution, and they cleansed the temple. So, he says, how long? The giving of both the sanctuary and the house to be trampled under foot. Verse 14, and he said to me, for two thousand three hundred, and your margin may have a little symbol next to it, like a little one, but it says literally, evening mornings. So, for two thousand three hundred evening mornings, which is, why? Because the sacrifices were done in the evening and in the morning, and that means the sacrifices were stopped for two thousand and three hundred sacrifices, which represents one thousand one hundred and fifty days. So, your Bible, when it says for two thousand three hundred days, that is incorrect. Should be two thousand three hundred evening mornings.
To support that, you look also on verse 26 of Daniel 8, and it says, and the vision of the evening and mornings, you see, of these two thousand three hundred evening and mornings, which is told is true. So, it's actually a period of eleven hundred and fifty days, or two thousand and three hundred evening and mornings. So, one thousand and fifty days later, in the year one hundred and fifty four before Christ, that's three years later, one thousand and fifty is three years and a bit more. One hundred and sixty four BC, as part of the Maccabean Revolt, and that Maccabean Revolt, as soon as they did the Pomeranetian Desiration, they started rebelling, but they only succeeded three years later, but that Revolt continued for a period of seven years. During that Maccabean Revolt, then in 164 BC, the temple was rededicated. That is, today, the Jews observe Hanukkah, and that is the origin of Hanukkah, when the temple was rededicated after the abomination of desolation, after 1150 days, or 2300 evenings and mornings. So, now, this helps us to place that these 2300 evening and mornings start from the abomination of desolation. It is very important to understand this, right, and it runs for 150 days.
Right, at the time of the end, and because this is where this little horn is jewel, as I mentioned, yeah, this little horn is jewel, this prophecy is jewel. So, at the time of the end, the little horn will be combined with the papacy, the beast power, re-establishing the abomination of desolation, and the abomination of desolation, which will start that period of 120 days, which that starts, that abomination desolation happens 1290 days before Christ's coming. We went through that in Daniel, where we said 1260 days is the tribulation, but 30 days before is the abomination of desolation. And it says, and then we also read in Matthew 24, when the abomination of desolation happens flee. So, there is 1260 plus 30 days puts us then in the situation of 1290 days, which is when the abomination of desolation happens. That's that period when it happens, but that abomination of desolation does not run for that whole period. That abomination of desolation only runs for 1150 days. So, this obviously is a little bit on the speculation, so I'm just going to mark it here as speculative, that that area, once the abomination is set up, will be cleansed 1150 days after the abomination of desolation, which is 2300 evenings and mornings later, which means is actually 140 days, about four and a half months before Christ's coming.
So, which means that what we have is the tribulation is going to start 30 days before the tribulation starts, the abomination of desolation occurs. Then what we have is that temple is unclean, let's call it, or that area is unclean for 1150 days.
But because we get to the end of the tribulation period when the Lord's day has started, and that last year, that strength of the beast power is impacted by various things and God's intervention, then the Jewish people stand up against that and it appears they will be able to cleanse that area about four and a half months before Christ's coming. So, let's continue in Revelation 10, now verse 11. And He said to me, You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues, and kings.
So basically what it's saying is the gospel has to be preached again to all nations. The gospel has to be preached a second time or again.
Are we now today in the second time of preaching the gospel after the falling away, the apostasy of 1995? Because the gospel was preached and then there was this apostasy in 1995 that was falling away. And now are we again into a time that this is the gospel has to be preached and the gospel is being preached. So is that what it means? The prophesy again? Well, I don't know, but it does appear to be that, that to be the case. Anyway, then we get to the point here of measuring the temple, of measuring the temple. That is Revelation chapter 11 verse 1 and 2. Now, this is a continuation of the inset chapter or that section, you see, which means additional factors which contribute to the prophetic scene as a whole. So in Revelation 11 verse 1 and 2, it says, then I was given a read like a measuring rod, and the angel stood saying, rise and measure the temple of God, the altar, and those who worship thee, but leave out the court, which is outside the temple, and do not measure it. For it has been given to the Gentiles, and they will tread the holy city under foot for 42 months, which is three and a half years. So, will there be a temple before Christ returns?
Or is it to measure the church of God before the 42 months, before the three and a half years?
You see, because we know the church, part of the church will be protected, so is it a time of measuring, of judgment, of evaluating the people? Because we do know, brethren, it says in 1 Peter 4 verse 17, that judgment will first start with God's people. Let's look at that. 1 Peter 4 verse 17. For the time has come for judgment to begin at house of God. And if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? So, yeah, the gospel must be preached and then the temple is measured. Interesting that it says, prophesy again, and now measure the temple. And now measure the temple. Could that be that those there are found so doing and they have the love and the right spirit that will be counted worthy to escape? Is that what it means?
Now, we know that a new temple in the millennium is also measured, that in Ezekiel 40, all the way through Ezekiel 43 verse 17, there will be a temple in the millennium that Christ will build, and that will be measured. We also know that the New Jerusalem in Revelation 21 will also be measured. That New Jerusalem that will come from heaven, down from heaven, it will be measured. So, yeah, it's just some interesting points. It is possible that a temple will be built, but it is not necessarily required. But it could be. Why not? Or could it be? Maybe there'll be some situations with pressures and negotiations between the Sunnis or the king of the south and Israel to counter-attack the Shiites, because there's a lot of fight currently, for instance, if you know, between Sajir Abi, which is Sunni, and for instance Yemen. And there's a lot of disputes out there, and there's a lot of pressure of the Shiites. So maybe there'll be some compromise that will allow the temple to be built in Jerusalem. I do not know. That's an item.
of speculation that we don't know. But it's just interesting. However, it appears that the beast and the false prophet take over that area as the center of worship, starting from the point of the abomination of desolation for 2,300 evenings and mornings. That's what we read there early on in Daniel 8. Let's go back to Daniel 8, verse 11 through 14, because that's it says for those 2,300 evenings and mornings, there will be that abomination of desolation. And we also read in Thessalonians 2, Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 3 and 4. There will be this man of sin. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, Thessalonians chapter 3 and 4.
Chapter 2 verse 3 and 4, where it says, where no one deceive you by any means, that that day will not come unless the falling away comes first. And the man of sin is revealed, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worship, so that he sits as God in the temple showing himself that he's God. So that could be read in one way, there will be a temple, that could be read in another way, that's not necessarily a temple, but whatever it will be, we will, events soon to happen, will reveal to us that. So, so putting that into a little bit of the time frame, which we have seen before, you see, we have then, in parallel to that with all this, and if you go and read now Revelation 11 verse 3, it says, and I'll give power to my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days clothed in sackcloth. So, I am just showing you a little picture, which I've shown before. This is only a section of that picture that I've shown you before about the timelines. You have that as a handout that you could, but in that section, we have the abomination of desolation that happens. The abomination of desolation happens 30 days before the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation runs for three and a half years from YHAD to the time of Christ coming. The two witnesses also preach for three and a half years from YHAD till they, and they stop like three and a half days before Christ coming. So, it appears that the two witnesses will start preaching like three and a half days before the Great Tribulation itself, and because they stop and they die after 1,260 days. And we also saw that after the abomination desolation happens, that abomination desolation will be in effect for 2,300 evenings and mornings. It works for 1,915 days, so it runs all the way from there, all the way up to some time in YHAD, more or less about halfway through this year. Because during this time, God is intervening, and the Jewish people are starting to maybe have more possibilities of doing certain things, and then they cleanse the temple. So, that could be it. As I said earlier on, that is speculative, but I just wanted to put this into this time frame so we can see it.
So, the two witnesses stand up against the beast and the false prophet during that same period as the Great Tribulation. Then we read in verse 4, these are the two olive trees, and the two lampstands before standing before the God of the earth. And this is parallel to Zechariah. If we go to see in Zechariah chapter 4 verse 3, it talks about the two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other that is at the left, and then a little bit lighter in verse 11 through 14 says, then our answer then said, what are these two olive trees at the right of the lampstand and the left? And our further answer then said to him, these are the two olive branches that drip into the receptacle of the gold pipes from the golden oil drinks. Who are these? Then he answered and said to me, do you not know what these are? He said, no, no, Lord. So he said, these are the two anointed ones who stand beside the Lord of the old earth. So these are the two anointed ones. So again, we have a vision here in Zechariah chapter 4, which again has a duality, has a duality. A lot of the Old Testament scriptures are kind of super in poor pulse, and part of the scripture happens earlier, and part of the scripture happens later. So there is this, even though it's written in the same pages, one happens earlier and the other one happens later. So there's this duality up. So we can see these two witnesses are anointed. It says yeah, these are the two anointed ones. Somehow God anointed them, God appointed them for this specific task. So it's not somebody that says, I am one of the two witnesses. Like we get many people that call the home office and say, I am the one of the two witnesses. Now these are anointed by God at this time after the abomination of desolation, about a month after the abomination of desolation, maybe just three days before the other that month, and then the greater delation begins.
Right, Revelation 11 verse 4 and 5. And these are the two olive trees, the two lapstands standing before the God of the earth, and if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours the enemies. And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.
These have power to shut heaven so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy, and they have power over waters to turn them to blood and to strike the earth with all plagues as often as they desire. You see, the power they have, they will gain the world's attention. They will gain the world's attention and give them an unprecedented opportunity. When everything is cancelled, nothing can happen because it's the time of the great tribulation during those three and a half years. They will have this opportunity to warn the nations to repent of their sins and of their rebellion against God. And we know a number of people will repent during the first two and a half years of that three and a half year period, as I discussed in the previous Bible study.
Right now, Revelation 11 verse 7 through 10. And when they finish their testimony, the beast that sends out of the bottomless pit will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. So the beast will kill them. God will allow the beast to kill them. And their dead bodies will lie in the streets of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. Then those from the peoples, tribes, tongues, and nations will see their dead bodies three and a half days and not allow their dead bodies to be put in graves.
So they will not allow their dead bodies to be put in graves. And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth. So the whole world will see it, and the whole world will rejoice when they die. And they die when they're dead, and then they resurrect three and a half days later.
They say, now after the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered in. So they received the spirit of man, oh man, back into them. And they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, come up here, and they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. So they'll resurrect. So what we can deduce is that the two witnesses resurrect just before the general resurrection at the seventh trumpet. And this whole revolution is symbolic of the day of trumpets, and the seventh trump is now gonna sound, we can see that in verse 15. And so the seventh trump is just about to sound. And you can see this because the resurrection is of the sciences at Christ's coming. So the resurrection of the dead is first, and those that are alive are changed. And it's all happening in this short time frame of many events to happen around Christ's coming. In verse 13 it says, in the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake, seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid, and gave glory to the God of heaven. So yeah, we have a great earthquake, and seven thousand people were killed around Jerusalem in that area, and the rest were afraid, and they gave glory to the God of heaven. And in verse 14 it says, that is when the second world ends. That is the end of the sixth trumpet.
So now we see in verse 15 the seventh trumpet sounds. So we will cover the seventh trumpet at another study. There are still a few other things that I want to cover, but this is sufficient for today. It's given you a fairly good glimpse to that, to this inset chapter, because from verse 15 it's now continuous with the story flow. So verse 15, till the end of this chapter, from verse 15 to verse 19, is not an inset section. It's now continuous, moves the story flow a little bit forward. But in chapter 12, then it brings another inset chapter. You see, so 10 and part of 11 is an inset chapter. Then 11 verse 15 is now continuing with the story flow. And then in chapter 12 and 13 and 14, it actually are the game inset chapters. Additional information, the detail there. So that is the end, brethren, of the study for today. And I thank you so much for your participation.
