Choose Not to Sin

Develop Good Spiritual Habits

This sermon is about avoiding the bad example of ancient Israel, and the prophet Baalam the diviner by developing good spiritual habits.

1 Corinthians 10:1-6 - Spiritual food and drink.  Christ is the Rock, and He led ancient Israel.  Christ was the Old Testament God.  God was not pleased with Israel's example.  Numbers 22:1 - 31:8 - Where did Balaam go wrong? 2 Peter 2:15 - Balaam loved the wages of unrighteousness. James 1:12-14 Blessed are those who endure temptation. What does it take to overcome sin?  Choose not to sin!  James 2:19-20 Faith without works is dead.  Examine yourself and see what sin(s) you need to overcome.  Study God's word so you know the difference between sin and righteousness (Deuteronomy 17:18-20). Humble yourselves by fasting. Repent when we fail, when we sin (Psalm 51). Practice righteousness, not lust!
