The title today, this is the first part. I will have the, as you can see, I will have the second part two weeks from today. I'll be back here, and we'll do the second part because there's so much involved here. But I don't know about you, but when I grew up, that's the one thing that I was told I couldn't do. Tell my sister to shut up. My sister was a year and a half older than me. She was a nurse ratchet type, telling me what to do all the time. Thought she knew so much more than me when she was six years old and I was four and a half.
And she would just talk, talk, talk, talk, talk. And so, riding in the back of that station wagon, I would just say, shut up! And my parents said, you don't say that. We hear it again, we're going to make you shut up. And so I learned that because they said you can say, be quiet. Or don't talk to me, but don't say, shut up.
I didn't know what the difference was when I got in school. Everybody said, shut up. But I guess my family was trying to teach me some manners of some type. So I'm tongue in cheek here talking about Daniel, shut up, as we'll get to a little bit later. I want to cover some things today that's going to go a little more in depth in two weeks.
Because I found that the 12th chapter of Daniel is loaded with so much stuff that I couldn't do it all in one and do it justice. So I wanted to take this first part because Daniel is an interesting character. He's one of the most righteous characters in the entire Bible, as dictated by the Scriptures. But the word Daniel means, God is my judge. God is my judge. Actually in Hebrew it's D-I-N, which was judge, and then the last L is God. So God is my judge. Nice name. But he had to change it to Belshazzar.
Belshazzar, which means another God, a false God, a pagan God, means Baal protects his life. And you kind of have to understand that because when he really was given those names, Baal was of course one of their leading gods at that time in Babylon. I mean, they had many. But you could kind of see where he got that name when you read the first few chapters of Daniel. It's interesting because the word Daniel is one of the most popular names in Ireland, England. Because there the word Daniel means beautiful. They even changed the name, and I don't know if you know, but I know a Danielle. They even used it for a female name.
As we know, those, Daniel in Jamaica, who was a young lady, and she is a very beautiful young lady. So they named her rightly. But it's interesting because the name Daniel has been in the top 15 names for boys in the United States since 1972. And it's never left. Daniel seems to be a popular name. But it was used even in the 18th and 19th centuries because of the Bible, because of the story of Daniel. Because he's kind of a hero, and people would name their children after Daniel.
Perhaps you know Daniel Boone. If you were that old, Dale, you're not that old, are you, to remember Daniel Boone? All right, yes. Oh, Dan Rather! Named after that, supposedly. Even 007, James Boone. Daniel Craig. Someone you might know. Danny Glover. Famous actor. And then, of course, somebody a little newer is Daniel Radcliffe.
If you're not a Harry Potter fan, I doubt you would know his name. I'm not, but I still know his name. But it's interesting that when a survey was taken of young kids all across, of who some of their favorite characters in the Bible were. I find it interesting, and today, Jesus wasn't one of them. Samson topped the list. Boys, I guess. Sarah was up there, and Moses was up there. But one of the top two, depends on which one you lift you pull from, was Daniel.
And it was the story of Daniel in the lion's den. Every kid knew that story. And we all know the story. And we find it amazing. We find various things he went through amazing. And so, with that in mind, because of what I covered the last time, I covered one scripture in Daniel chapter 12. And I have probably more questions asked from the book of Daniel about chapter 7, chapter 11. But, chapter 12, there are quite a few. Because chapter 10 is pretty easy to decipher, and chapter 11 is not too bad.
We kind of know how all that goes together. But then you have chapter 12. The 12th chapter of Daniel, God actually tells Daniel to shut up.
The words. This book. There is a purpose for that, and that's why I wanted to cover. Only this, but the next time I'll be here. Can we go there? Let's go to Daniel 12. Hey, you'll like this? I'm only covering six, or is it six scriptures? Yes, only six scriptures.
Andy, we had our evaluations from our speaking club. I don't know if you're in it this time or not. Yeah, I got mine this past week, and somebody couldn't understand why I didn't have more scriptures. Because I only had six or seven, and they were shocked. So I guess I was dinged for that. But I want to look at the depth, because it's our job to pull what's in those scriptures out. Because I have a sermon I'm writing now.
I think I only have two scriptures in the entire sermon, so I definitely won't submit that one to be evaluated. They would freak out. Plus, they said I moved too much, and they couldn't understand me walking. But hey, that's there. At least Steve Myers took up for me. So I did come out okay there. But yes, I'm sorry not to do this. I look too relaxed. That was something else they dinged me on. I was too relaxed, and I didn't need notes.
Yes. So let's go there. But before we go to chapter 12, just a short two-minute review of chapter 11. Because chapter 11 ends off with this interesting saying of the end times. And at the end times, we find that there is a king of the north, or the beast power, you might say, that comes into, as it says in the last few verses of chapter 11, to the holy land.
And he plants his tent. Otherwise he sets up his little kingdom there. And so this is very dramatic if you read chapter 11, and you see everything that comes about, king of the south, king of the north. And I have so many people who ask these questions. What does this mean? And who is this? And what is this? And oh, can you tell me this?
And then I can go online and I can find, even in churches of God, people over here, and put this and this and this and this and this. And I guess that's why it struck me about this title. Shut up! Because I've read so much in the last week, two weeks, of people who say anything and everything.
And they don't say, well, there's a speculation. And I'll definitely tell you if it's speculation. But there's stuff we don't know, and we're not going to know until the end times. It's just the way it's laid out. But I'm just amazed at what is out there for not only you, but people who are on YouTube, people who look at all this stuff, whether it's in booklets, whether it's in this.
And they don't say, well, it could be this, it could be that. It's this! It's that! And that's not what this chapter 12 is about. Daniel wants to know, and God says, no. No. There's some stuff you're not going to know. Now, we can get the picture. We can read chapter 11 and understand how things are going to come to be.
But then we go into a little depth about those last, last times there. So with that, let's go to chapter 12, verse 1. I'll be reading from a new King James version here. So we get the picture of what's happening in the Middle East at the time. The beast, the false prophet, they set up in the Holy Land. And he says, at that time, we're looking at the end time, at that time, Michael shall stand up.
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people. Why? Why do we need Michael? Well, Michael is the great prince. You see him in chapter 10. You can see where he has to go and help another angel fight the powers that be in this world in Persia at the time. So Michael is an archangel. Very, very powerful. And that's very important to each and every one of us because of what the Scripture tells us.
This is not something, this is somebody's drawing. Jeff, is that your drawing? I know I gave it to you, but you, yeah. But here's the thing. This is who we can call on. According to these Scriptures, this, besides the two beings at the top of the pyramid, God and Christ, this is like it. And God has revealed to us through Daniel that this is the one that will protect us.
This is the one that will be carrying the weight for us, the protection for us. So it says at that time, Michael shall stand up, which is what? I prefer if I want somebody to defend me or take care of me. I prefer they're not sitting over there in a chair going, okay, what do you need? So just the picture of this is he's going to stand up. He's going to be able to help, as you can read in chapter 10 of what he did for the other angel.
The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people. I read a commentary and even heard someone else talk this week that well, he's talking about. Israel and Jerusalem at the end time. Really? Just read. We're going down and read the other verses. Your people. Are you his people? I am. Can I say that Jerusalem and I'm not talking down any other religion, but they don't even know the Messiah is. They haven't seen Him. They're waiting on Him. So to me, I don't think it's much conjecture here. This is us. These are His people, the ones who follow Him. Who watch over your son, over your people.
And verse, and then the other part of it. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation. From the very beginning of time. If you are a purveyor of history, which I know many of you are in here, you like history. Many of us have studied World War I and World War II. World War I, the war to end all wars. It didn't. Now everybody's talking about what's going on over there.
Could it lead to World War III? And people are very concerned with that today. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation. This, in World War II, many of you have studied. They actually found people in different parts of the world during World War II. They never even knew it took place.
In World War I, there's quite a few people who never knew it took place. They just heard about it. But World War II, you would think, well, it covered and it did cover a lot of the planet, but there's still a lot. This time that the Bible is talking about here is a time unseen anything in the past. Genghis Khan killed 12% of all the people on earth.
That sounds bad. 12% of all the people who lived on earth at the time, he went and killed his people. We see the Spanish Inquisition. You see all these things that travel. This is saying all of that's going to pale in comparison to what the end time is. It's going to be bad. Very, very bad.
And so, he says something here at the last of his verse, so, there shall be a time of trouble, which is an understatement, such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. You see what that tells us? It's telling us, as I talked about last time, about running to and fro and over the whole earth and setting the time of where we're at. And knowledge shall increase. That's what my last sermon here was about. I hope I showed that we are in those time of the end, the last days, if you want to say, because there is a difference between the time of the end and the last days, even to that time. So, maybe there will be another World War. Maybe there will be World War III. I don't know. But what this does tell me that when this takes place, that's the end. And it's going to be so bad. And at that time, your people shall be, what did your Bible say? Delivered. Does that make you feel good? It does me. I profess to be His people. I also know that there can't be Israel and Jerusalem, because all you have to do is read Zechariah 14, and you'll see what happens to them at the end time. And it's not pleasant. They're definitely not delivered. Well, it says, at that time, your people shall be delivered, and then the explanation of who His people are. Everyone who is found written in the book. Are you in the book? Do you know you're in the book? And is your name legible? I hope. When it's written in there, they don't get minds that we can't read that name. Who is that guy?
Everyone who is... So what book? Jeff, you don't have this, but turn with me to Revelation. Revelation 21. Revelation 21, verse 27. I get thunder and lightning with my sermon today. Verse 27. But they're talking at the end. This is describing the kingdom. This is describing New Jerusalem. This is describing paradise. This is describing what eternity is going to be like.
Well, guess what? It says, but there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. So it's the Lamb. I take it who may write that.
Maybe he's got an angel to do it for him. But it's his book, because what puts us there is claiming him as our Lord and Savior, claiming the blood that was shed for us by him to cover our sins. So this is pretty big stuff. That book, how big is it, you think? You think it only can contain 144,000 names? I'm not going there today. That's another whole series of sermons. How big would that book be? You feel like it would be pretty thick with just names? The book of life is mentioned so many times in Scripture. I believe about six or seven months ago, I just gave a sermon on this.
Anybody remember that? I guess you don't. It either wasn't a very good sermon, or I'm thinking of Fort Lauderdale. Maybe I did in Fort Lauderdale. My bad. Because it's interesting just to go through and read every Scripture where the book of life is referenced. You can take a It's crystal clear who they are. Moses even went back, what, in Exodus 32 and said, Don't kill these people. Blot out my name from the book of life. Pretty powerful statement. I can understand being the most humble man in the world at the time willing to do that. But how thick you think that book is? Oh, do you have your name written in it when you become a son of God?
When do you become a son of God? Well, I think you'll probably get into that. I don't know, Andy, get into that on Pentecost or whatever. But those who have his Holy Spirit, 1 Corinthians, covers those. When you receive his Spirit, you think your name is not written in there? Now, he also says, Don't quench your spirit.
If you lose the spirit, do you think your name? Because there is one about blot it out. So obviously, even Moses knew, blot out my name. But I want to go into the thing I'll be skipping from Daniel 12 today, is to explain just how important this book of life is. And that I believe my name's in there. I believe most of your names are in there. Those who still call Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior. Those who still know God as our supreme Heavenly Father. And those who try to act like it.
But David said something very profound that helped me understand, but I couldn't understand it through O King James, King James, or any of those. Because I went over the sermon, and if you'll go with me, Psalm 129. Sorry, Psalm 139. Psalm 139. And everybody knows this is the chapter where it says, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Okay? Because that's such a beautiful saying. I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. But there's so much more to that. In fact, Bruce Will ever, one of our saints who passed in Fort Lauderdale, just here. This was his favorite. I mean, we went through this, and even the last few times I saw him, and a neighbor came over and he said, you read Psalm 139?
No, it's just Bruce. Hey, you got to read it! But it is so powerful. So I won't go into it because it's a sermon by itself. I'd like to go down Psalm 139, but I'll do it from the New Living Translation, which they translate the Hebrew very well here. And they help you to understand. So let's go there in verse 13. You say, you made all the delicate inner parts of my body.
He did. And knit me together in my mother's womb. I think there's a lot of people in this country need to understand that. Big time. But at least we're seeing some bit of progress for the first time in 50 years. That's all I'll say about that. Yes. I want to think about that one. Verse 14, thank you for making me so wonderfully complex, or I am fearfully and wonderfully made. That's what that verse says in the New Kingdom. Your workmanship is marvelous.
How well I know it. And we should, man, just get a science book. Just read the complexity of cells. And it's mind-boggling. Or just go to the brain. Just research the brain. You realize I didn't come from a monkey. I didn't come from an amoeba that crawled up out of the slime. But it says here in verse 15, you watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion.
Conception. Conception. Conception. You knew. When does life begin? I think Oklahoma's figured it out, haven't they? If you're watching the news. And I'm being chastised for it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. Nothing about 15 weeks in here. Nothing about 26 weeks. Nothing about this.
Otherwise Jeremiah would have been flat out a lot.
Yes, I knew you before I formed you in the womb. Well, that's not what this sermon's about, so I better go on. But then we come to 16. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your... What's your book say? My book says book.
Uh-oh, wait a minute. How big is that book again?
You think there's... Phew! That book would take most of a library, probably. But God's... He can have the biggest library once, can't he?
You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Then you go finish it. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.
Isn't that incredible? He's writing down everything that happens.
Imagine all the times we prayed, the time we talked to people, the time we... Uh-oh, you wrote that down too?
Does this take on kind of a new meaning? Because you're kind of going, you know, when we meet David in the kingdom, we're kind of going, Bet you wish he'd left some of that out, don't you? And he's liable to go, well, you hadn't read yours yet.
Right? Yes. I mean, but this, this is beautiful. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. So before today's over with, you're right. He's going to be in the book about you, about today.
Otherwise, this is a lie.
Well, if you lay in bed and don't do anything, it's probably laid in bed, 12 hours on the Sabbath.
But what about these? I mean, that is awesome. So that book of life, as we go back to Daniel 12, everyone who's written in the book, it's not just our names.
Will this be preserved?
For eternity? Because those written in the Lamb's Book of Life, we're about to see. They're held up like this.
Way up here. Let's go down to verse 2. I look at my clock and realize I thought I'd be short today of just now the second verse.
Verse 2, And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake. Oh, okay. First Thessalonians 4, First Corinthians 15. We kind of get those, right? So people in the earth, dirt's going to come up. It's going to be resurrected then. But then it's, this is the interesting part.
It says, some to everlasting life.
Hope that's me. If I die, I drive enough on Miami's highways.
You never know, right, Willa? You take your life in your hands every day. Right, Janae? You do down there.
But it's my father. I look at my father. I mean, I wait for this time. Because some to everlasting life, Bruce Williver, some to shame. What would that be?
We're looking like, what, Gomer Powell? Shame, shame, shame.
Some to shame. I mean, okay.
Some to shame and everlasting contempt.
Is there two resurrections in?
Oh, but you see, you're reading your Bible there, and it's got the and in there.
It's not in the regional Greek. I mean, in the regional Hebrew. And it's not in there. They added that.
Mmm. Well, why would they do that?
Some to everlasting life, which we understand are the first fruits. If you're in, you'll cover that next weekend, too, because we've become first fruits. And we know who the first of the first fruits are, and we're part of that first fruits, and we're resurrected to everlasting life. That's clear! Some to shame.
And I like to think of that as my own thing here, because I remember Gary Ante, and I don't know whether you had him teaching you part of this. He's the first one that brought this out to me to make it crystal clear. He goes, that's three.
Shame is different than everlasting contempt.
And he said, when you put the Hebrew together, you've got all the words jammed up. You've got all the letters jammed up here. There's no ands. There's no periods. There's no any of this. So they wanted to say, so it fits that, oh, well, there's those who go to heaven, and there's those who burn in hell.
That's it! You either go to heaven or you burn in hell. That's what many of the people put this together, thought. But it says, some to shame. That'll be my grandmother. I did her funeral. She was ninety-nine point nine years old. She just missed her hundredth birthday, and her mother was a hundred years old. So my mother even hates for me to say, you're going to live to be a hundred. No, I won't.
I guess she's determined enough not to think she is.
So my grandmother was a nice woman.
She was a Presbyterian, and she played the organ or the piano every Sunday. She was there. She loved life.
She had children. She lived. She died. She wrote poetry. She did painting. She was gifted. I would go and spend time with her and have to sit on a Saturday night for an hour and a half watching Lawrence Welk. That's the only thing I held against her. But that wasn't as bad as what came on afterwards was the polka. They had a polka. I don't understand polka, and I don't want to understand polka after watching a few shows of that.
But she did not know. Godhead didn't open her mind. She was as good as she knew to be in the life that she grew up with. She knew what we believed, but she came to church. She came to feast tabernacles before. She did some of these things, but it didn't mean anything. She was like, whoosh! She's all those nice people, and I had this good conversation with this. She's like, this!
So is that part of everlasting contempt that she's going to the lake of fire? No! So when she comes up in her time, each in its own order, as the Scriptures say, her mind will be open. She won't have any problem because she loved the Christ that she knew and understood.
She'll have no problem coming before Him and say, I'm sorry, I didn't know.
And so she will be ashamed because she thought she was following Him when there's a lot more that she didn't know. So some to everlasting life, some to shame, and then there's those for, as I put here, everlasting contempt are literally abhorrents. There's going to be those who will not accept Christ, will not want any of it. They're evil to the core, and they're going to have to be dealt with, and God's so fair.
So we don't have, because I don't want to use the word that we used so many times in the past, three resurrections.
Because we can't prove there's three resurrections.
Now, we used to go back and love in our past and say, well, Isaiah 65 says 100 years, and a child will live at least 100 years, and others will die at 100 years or whatever. But if you read the entire chapter, that's talking about the millennium.
Matter of fact, I asked the head of our doctrinal committee one time, why don't we teach what we used to teach about the 100-year period of time, and that everybody was going to get a chance to, you know, those who come up in the second resurrection, everybody's going to get a chance to live for 100 years, and they'll understand the way and everything else. He said, because we can't teach it, because it's not in there.
That's conjecture in chapter 65.
Wait a minute, you mean Adam needs...he only lived 900 in 30 years, he needs another 100? All these people have lived 800, 900 years. My grandfather, my dad's side, he lived to be 94.
Look at this funeral in Indiana.
That man doesn't need...he didn't need the 94 he had.
He was just...he knew it was right, he just didn't want to do it. He wasn't going to do it. He wasn't going to let anybody tell him what to do.
And so, I don't teach that because I can't teach it from the Bible.
Now, am I going to teach then that, okay, everybody that's in the millennium is going to live for 100 years? I'm not saying...I'm just saying, I just have to teach what's in the Bible. And that's what I love about United. I just have to teach what's in the Bible.
And so, here, are we talking about three resurrections? It doesn't say that. Could the...could the...
Could there be two resurrections? The first. And could the second and the...this ear, these two groups right here come up at the same time?
Why not? Why not?
Say, well, but don't you have to live a righteous life? Did the thief on the cross have to live 100 years?
That Christ said, today you will be with me in paradise?
Because Christ is the one who will judge. Christ knows our hearts. He doesn't need them for us to live. Just like, well, wait a minute. Then we would have certain stories about, yeah, but then babies will get to grow up in this kingdom-like thing. And then you get to...if you aborted a baby, then you can even have your aborted baby and you can raise it. These were great stories they would tell at the Feast of Tabernacles. And I ate it up, too. And I'm not downing that. I don't see it because Adam and Eve weren't babies when they were made.
And when you look at the whole scheme of things, and this is 6,000 years, what's eternity?
So we don't know some of this stuff, but do we have to? No. No. What we have to know is our name written in the Book of Life, and what was the first one?
Resurrected to eternal life. That's our job. God's going to take care of the others. God's going to take care of my grandmother. He's going to see my grandfather. He's going to handle all that. So could it all be at the same time? Very well, could be. I don't know. And so I'm not dogmatic. I know people here who, oh no, we taught that for 50 years. No, that's right. Okay. Believe it if you want. I just have to believe what's written here. And there's some things we do not know.
Will we know them? Yes. When? When it's time. When it's time. And we'll definitely get to that on the next sermon. So let's go on now that I've beat that horse to death. Let's go down to, okay, some to shame and everlasting contempt. And for those of you who want to know, go back and read Isaiah 65. Go back and read it and see what it says. Just go what it says. Okay. I think our doctrinal committee was pretty strong in what they came out and said, we have to teach what's in Scripture and not jump the shark, as you say, and make it more than what it is.
And there's some things we just don't know. So let's go to those. Those who are wise...wait a minute...talking about that first group, right? Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever. They've been trying to decide how long the stars have been there forever. You can use that term. How long? Wait a minute. Our sun's a star. Is it going to burn up?
Well, yes. That's why we've got to watch this global warming, because it could burn up in about five, ten thousand years. And then we won't have all this. Okay? No. God's going to have all this. He knows exactly which time. But most of us are billions of years old. Billions and billions of years old.
But I think the interesting part for us is what? For those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament. Is that kind of like you are the light of the world? Sound familiar? Hell, that's what we're supposed to be doing. But then he puts a little more emphasis on it when he said, And those who turn many to righteousness.
How many people you turn to righteousness? Wait a minute. I thought that was just in that Christ job. Isn't that God's job? To turn people to righteousness? Why are we here if it's not as an example? Christ came as an example of God in the flesh and living a righteous life. And I look at his life every week to see that.
How to live. How to live. How to answer. How to save each other. That's what I do. That's what we're to do. But guess what? We're also to be there for other people to see God in us.
It's not about our glory. It's about His. And so here people knew you growing up or knew me growing up and going, Wait a minute. That's a preacher? Well, yeah, but it's God in me that made me the preacher. Without Him in me, I'm...
We don't even want to go there. Okay, so we come to verse 4. But you, Daniel, shut up! But you, Daniel, shut up the words. Shut up the words. And seal the book until the time of the end. Are we at the time of the end? Well, we may be in the last days, but are we in time of the end? Are we in the last three and a half years of this earth as it is?
We will see it. Has the Great Tribulation started? No. I see the signs. How do we know it's going to start? There's only one sign Jesus Christ gave. The absolute sign is the abomination of desolation. We'll talk about it later. It's the only one. We'll get all, oh, I need to know more about prophecy.
Oh, oh, oh, are we here? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? No. No. It says, Daniel wanted to know, close the book, and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase, the sermon I gave last time. But then let's go down to five. Then I, Daniel, looked, and there stood two others, one on the riverbank and the other on that, one on this riverbank and the other on that riverbank.
And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river. So you got two angels here? Well, you go back to chapter ten, and you can read that. I won't go into that, because there was one, and then you'll see. Or, as the commentaries kind of get off there, and it says, one said to the man, one wasn't in the original Hebrew.
So is it Daniel that said that? I don't know. You can read that yourself. And one said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river. How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be? How long? Do we know? How long will it be? You know, what's interesting is that in chapter three, it talks about, in verse three, it talks about us being able to turn people.
I'm just reading what's there. Because we know God turns, God opens up people's minds. But we have influence on people. Otherwise, why have us around here? It's all about just salvation. Why don't we just go get baptized, and then just keep walking in the water until we drown? Then we just, whoo, then it'll become eternal life. If that's what it's about, but that's not all it's about. He needs. He wants a family.
And he wants this character created. It's interesting that they talk about glory. And he talks about us, what, in Romans 8 and verse 30, that we'll be glorified. I mean, he talks about it. First we're called, and we're justified, because of Christ. And then it says we'll be glorified. Now, when you go and you look at the word glorified, glory, in the Old Testament, New Testament, you find the word is almost mind-boggling. We'll be glorified. It talks about honor, and it talks about praise.
Those are the words. But then it puts this one in that people are very uncomfortable hearing. Worship. Worship. Because they're going to... Now, tomorrow night, I think the Miami Heat will probably win their game, hopefully, and these athletes will celebrate, and they won't have any problem being glorified or worshiped. Right? But that's kind of us, because we talk about humility all the time, but that's why it's so important, because there's words in there.
We're going to be glorified. Was Christ glorified? You remember Moses saying, I want to see your glory? And he says, you can't handle it. Get behind the rock, and I'll let you see just my backside, because it's going to be... Yes. Brethren, that's what's offered here. That's what's revealed here.
That's why verse 3 is talking about the... And the wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament? We're going to need dimmer switches in the kingdom of God, so we can talk to people. See, this is what amazed Daniel, because you've got to see... Daniel got to see some of this, didn't he? He got to see things that we've never even seen, we've never even dreamed before, through visions, through angels, talking to him.
That's why he wanted to know more. Man, when's this going to be? The only thing was, the answer was, not in your lifetime. But you know there's a good chance that it will be in our lifetime. And everybody's like, well, you know, the Tribulation is going to be worse than it's ever been. Yes, it's true. But I have to go back and say, at that time, your people shall be delivered. Do you trust God or not? No, I know some will get their white robes through their blood. That's described in Revelation, I won't go there. And there's others, leaders, who've had to die.
But it makes it here, your people shall be delivered. By Michael! Remember the picture of the angel? Guess what? I think he can handle it. So should we be worried? No. Should we be freaking out? Because I was talking to my friend Gary Beam, who has a series on Revelation, and he was talking about, yeah, I just wanted to clear this stuff up, because he is a master in the book of Revelation. He knows so much, and he's one of my mentors there. But he said, I gave a series, and he said, but then when I had all these people calling and sending me these emails, and all this kind of stuff, because they wanted to know more and more, I said, well, I gave you everything that's in there.
But I wanted to know more! This church over here said, yeah, but it's not in the book. So should we be freaked out? No. Should we be worried? No. What did he say, though? Watch. So he says, he said, watch. Watch what? We should see world events, too. Yeah, but we need to be watching this, watching ourselves, watching that we're not carried away with the world.
So how long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be? Well, it tells us a little bit down in Scripture. That's what we're going to read in two weeks. We're going to go through those final verses in twelve. But until then, I'm going to shut up.
