Jesus and His apostles warned us not to be taken in by those who pretend to be His representatives and so deceive many. That may not be as easy as it sounds. If people were being led astray even while the apostles were still alive, why would it be any easier today? As we get closer to the end, this is something we are going to be dealing with even more.
