Fruit is Fruit and Works are Works

Fruit and works are two very different things. When reading Galatians 5, then, it doesn't make much sense to compare and contrast the works of the flesh with the fruit of the Spirit. Rather than looking at the fruit of the Spirit as merely a self-help checklist that is in contrast to the works of the flesh, let's see what the Bible really has to say about it.
