We learn from the example of Simon—who attempted to obtain the Holy Spirit with money—that the Spirit should never be treated as a commodity, for it is a precious gift from God. When we consider our offerings to Him, God invites us to test Him in how much He will bless us, always remembering that we cannot outgive God for what He provides through the Holy Spirit.
