Godly repentance and godly belief by God's spirit. How can we be sure God’s spirit is continuing and active in us?

Sermon Notes

Intro: God’s Spirit flows, It is NOT static. God says He requires BOTH continued repentance and belief in order for His Spirit to be IN a human being. HOW can we do that? – the World CAN’T!

A new way of life has been opened up before some very few. Those few must remember to understand and never forget, even for a moment, the unimagined Gift of understanding they have been given. The understanding of what is truly THE priority of life itself. To lose one’s life, not to find it. To pick up Christ’s cross and follow after Him, in selfless life-giving dedication. To BECOME like God, so as to BECOME God.

Man is the highest mortal being God created on earth. And his mind is the highest part of man’s faculty which, above all else, elevates him above dumb animals. God intended that our minds be developed, trained and used to His honor and glory!

The little word “my” is a precious one to most people. They lovingly speak of my opinion, my job, my house, my country, my religion, and my God.

We humans resent being told that our opinion, our faith, our religion is wrong. We like to continue to believe what we have been accustomed to accept as true. Everyone HATES to admit he has been wrong.

Misplaced confidence in a false conversion is a great and mortal deception which could very easily cause one to forfeit eternal life. It is such dangerously  deception because one’s own personal vanity will, in many cases, prevent one from admitting that he or she has never been converted.

Benefit Statement: How CAN we be SURE God’s Spirit is continuing and Active IN us?

God’s Word says: “Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His” (Romans 8:9 Romans 8:9But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
American King James Version×
). In plain language, you must have Christ’s Spirit in you or you are not a Christian – you heve never been converted.

A converted person is filled with and LED by the Holy Spirit of God. God places and lives His very life within us through His Holy Spirit. By this means, we are begotten of Him as children and thus partake of His very nature. “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God (Romans 8:14 Romans 8:14For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
American King James Version×
).

SPS: Today we look at Godly Repentance and Godly Belief by God’s Spirit!

Body:

1)    Romans 5:5 Romans 5:5And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given to us.
American King James Version×
- God tells us: “The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given to us.” Through His Spirit, God gives us His love. Thus we partake of His nature – His character.

1 John 5:3 1 John 5:3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
American King James Version×
- And God’s Character is expressed in the spiritual principles contained in the Ten Commandments – obedience to God’s Law, “For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous”.
God’s Spirit lead us to obey Him as our Maker and Ruler.
Acts 5:32 Acts 5:32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to them that obey him.
American King James Version×
- The apostle Peter was inspired to write of the Holy Spirit, “whom God hath given to them that obey Him”.

John 16:13 John 16:13However, when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
American King James Version×
- Speaking of converted people, Jesus said: “Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak; and he will show you things to come.”. A truly converted person will be guided into all truth by God’s Spirit. He will come to firmly stand and grasp Bible prophecy – or things to come.

Genuine conversion actually revolutionizes a human being’s life. It is a renewing of his mind – his attitude – his character.

He comes to really know God – to constantly study and understand more and more of God’s Word – and he is able to pray and talk to God in a personal way. He receives constant answers – he is blessed – he grows more like Christ every month, and year of his life.

The Almighty God, Who created our minds and human nature, repeats twice a warning for us in the book of Proverbs. He warns: “There is a way which seems right to a man, by the end thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 16:25 Proverbs 16:25There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
American King James Version×
; 14:12).
God inspired an entire book in His Word to deal with this common problem of human beings. The problem of hating to admit that they cannot maintain their own rightness. It is the book of Job – one of the least understood books of the Bible.

The primary lesson of the entire book is that God hates our own human self-righteousness.

Notice Job’s attitude throughout this book. “God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me: My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live” (Job 27:5-6 Job 27:5-6 [5] God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove my integrity from me. [6] My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.
American King James Version×
)

Job 31:6 Job 31:6Let me be weighed in an even balance that God may know my integrity.
American King James Version×
- Job again voices his real attitude in: “Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.” Even Job’s carnal friends could sense his own self-righteousness and vanity. (Job 32:1 Job 32:1So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
American King James Version×
) “So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.”

Job 42:5-6 Job 42:5-6 [5] I have heard of you by the hearing of the ear: but now my eye sees you. [6] Why I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.
American King James Version×
Finally after dealing personally with God and learning about his own insignificance and utter weakness and wretchedness, Job at last repented. “I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee. Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes”

But the real question remains: Have you ever come to really abhor yourself? Have you truly repented as Job did? Have you totally surrendered yourself to God and given your very life to Him to use as He sees fit?

God commands - quit justifying self! “Let the wicked forsake His way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon” (Isaiah 55:7 Isaiah 55:7Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
American King James Version×
).
God thunders: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither my ways your ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts” (Isaiah 55:8-9 Isaiah 55:8-9 [8] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, said the LORD. [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
American King James Version×
).
This means you and I. Don’t apply it to someone else, apply it to yourself. Strive not to get your feelings hurt by the correction and the exhortation which is given in deep love.
True knowledge Rejected by Religion and Education
Many believe today that the Bible was not written to inform man’s mind, and they also believe that it is not Biblical to say the Gospel of Christ is an educational message!

→ If the Bible was written to change man’s heart – and indeed it was – how can what is written there change man’s heart, if it is never understood by the mind? Obviously it can’t.

→The word “heart” is used, in this sense, to imply the attitude of mind! The Bible says: “the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked …” (Jeremiah 17:9 Jeremiah 17:9The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
American King James Version×
). It is not referring to the organ that pumps blood inside a man’s chest. It is referring to man’s nature – his attitude, or spirit, or tendency of mind. It is referring to his natural character.

But how does God go about changing this deceitful, wicked nature – this “heart” – this attitude of mind in man?

What is the Gospel Message for doing that – for giving “salvation”?

Mk 1:15 Jesus began His Gospel Ministry and teaching saying, “the time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom is at hand: Repent you, and believe the Gospel” He said there are two conditions we must perform – repentance and belief!

Acts 2:38 Acts 2:38Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
American King James Version×
On the great day of Pentecost when Peter had received God’s Holy Spirit, he explained the way of salvation: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”.

Acts 8:36-37 Acts 8:36-37 [36] And as they went on their way, they came to a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what does hinder me to be baptized? [37] And Philip said, If you believe with all your heart, you may. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
American King James Version×
Here again we find two conditions – repentance and belief. To be “baptized: is the outward ceremony of the inward believing. Example: the eunuch said to Phillip, “see, here is water: what doeth hinder me to be baptized?” And Phillip said, if you believest with all thine heart, thou mayest”.

Yes, God requires two conditions which WE must do. Then God does the “saving” – the converting of our minds by His Spirit which He will give us upon fulfilling these conditions. His Holy Spirit will then lead us along the way to salvation. It will impart to us the faith, love and power necessary to overcome and control the downward pulls of our sinful human nature. This is how God changes or converts our minds!

2 Corinthians 7:10 2 Corinthians 7:10For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death.
American King James Version×
- The Bible says, “Godly sorrow works repentance” This is done by the mind!

And how does one believe, in order to be “saved”? Again one must believe with the mind.
Salvation Is Education
2 Peter 3:18 2 Peter 3:18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
American King James Version×
- The very last words of the apostle Peter’s letters were: “but grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ”. And notice the foundation of knowledge – the starting approach to wisdom: “The fear of the Eternal is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments …” (Psalms 111:10 Psalms 111:10The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endures for ever.
American King James Version×
). You can understand and gain knowledge only with the mind!

2 Tim2:15 - What does “study” mean? Do we study with our hearts – or our minds? “Study to show thyself approved unto God,,, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth”. This is a command! One can study, and rightly divide the Word of God only with his mind!

Ephesians 5:17 Ephesians 5:17Why be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
American King James Version×
- God teaches – yes, commands – that the Scriptures are to be studied – with the mind. Otherwise, how could we know God’s Will for us? So we find this command: “Wherefore be you not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is”.

→ What a tragedy that millions have been deceived into false salvation inoculated with the spiritual poison that “salvation” and the “Gospel” are concerned only with a sanctimonious mental anesthetic, shutting up the mind to God’s real truth, accepting the counterfeit of a sentimental “feeling” of piety.

What then IS the Holy Bible?

→IT is the revelation of the basic all-important knowledge which is otherwise utterly inaccessible to the mind of man – the knowledge of what man is; why man is; the true values of the way to peace, happiness, abundant well-being, success, and to eternal life.

→It is the foundation of all knowledge – scientific, physical, and spiritual. No one can be properly educated except by and through it. No one can know the way to eternal life, except by what the Bible contains. And that is exactly what we study. The reason for the Hope that lies within us with all humility and fear.

2) What Repentance is NOT
Mt 7:2121Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. - Christ said that people can actually worship Him, acknowledging that He is Lord and yet not enter into His Kingdom.

Mt 15:8 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. People worship Him, and yet not be born of God at Christ’s coming?
Then the ones who will enter God’s Kingdom ( Mt 7:21 last part).

Christ defined those who believe they are worshipping Him, and are NOT. They are actually wasting their lives doing so. The word used is “vain” worship, or useless, wasted activity.
Mk 7:7  7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Men would rather do almost anything else rather than surrender self to God. The carnal nature rebels, and the thought of submitting to God’s Law is rejected. Therefore men have substituted their own laws and customs for God’s commandments, thinking they can still receive salvation by merely believing in Christ as their Saviour, while understanding His True Purpose for Life.

→ Human nature wants to BE right, but it doesn’t want to DO right! So people often say, “Well here’s the way I look at it.” – thus putting themselves in the place of the Bible. If it “looks right” to them, it becomes their law. In other words, they try to be self-righteous.

Our righteousness – ( Isaiah 64:6 Isaiah 64:6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
American King James Version×
6But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.)

→ Christ spoke of those who trust themselves – Lk 18:9 9And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

This world’s sorrow does not have the results that eternally save.
2 Corinthians 7:10 2 Corinthians 7:10For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death.
American King James Version×
10For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

God does accept sorrow. It is different than this world’s sorrow though.
2 Corinthians 7:9 2 Corinthians 7:9Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you sorrowed to repentance: for you were made sorry after a godly manner, that you might receive damage by us in nothing.
American King James Version×
9Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. 10For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: …

True repentance – “Godly Sorrow” – means to see oneself and begin living the opposite way, which is God’s Way. That is what Jesus Christ taught!
(((Lk 13:3  3I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish. )))
Ephesians 4:22 Ephesians 4:22That you put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
American King James Version×
22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
((( Colossians 3:9 Colossians 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his deeds;
American King James Version×
9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: )))

→ A true Christian is a new Spiritual Creation being created into God’s Character image. Although it is a spiritual matter, involving God’s Holy Spirit, this change takes place in the MIND.

→ The first step toward spiritual renewal is repentance – “a change of mind”.

→ The second step is acceptance of, and faith in, Jesus Christ as personal Saviour, also taking place in the MIND.

(((The third step is the outward sign of these two inward actions, which is “good works”.
Ephesians 2:10 Ephesians 2:10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them.
American King James Version×
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 4:24 Ephesians 4:24And that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
American King James Version×
24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
The definition of this “righteousness” is not human ideas, or scientific discoveries or man’s reasoning.
Psalms 119:172 Psalms 119:172My tongue shall speak of your word: for all your commandments are righteousness.
American King James Version×
172    My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.
It is plain then. True repentance is accomplished by selfless (non-reward seeking) obedience to God.
Acts 5:32 Acts 5:32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God has given to them that obey him.
American King James Version×
32And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him. )))

Although we may never have thought of it in this light before – true spiritual conversion is …education
(((2 Peter 3:18 2 Peter 3:18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
American King James Version×
18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.)))

→ True education leads to conversion – a changing of our minds to think and act more as God does and says in His textbook for righteous living.

→ If the experience of repentance does not lead to our thinking and doing completely differently than we used to, it is not true repentance!
One of the world’s well-known preachers said he cannot imagine a loving Christ coming to this earth as a war-maker and conqueror. Most of professing Christianity is in for quite a surprise – this is exactly how He is coming! (Revelation 17:13-14 Revelation 17:13-14 [13] These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength to the beast. [14] These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
American King James Version×
; 19:11-16).

→ Carnal minded man is hostile to – at war with – Christ and His Father’s Law (Romans 8:7 Romans 8:7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
American King James Version×
7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.)
Christ would far rather shake this world until its inhabitants’ teeth rattle, than let them go on in their rebellious sinful ways until “there should no flesh be saved alive” (Mt 24:22)

But – Right now – before Christ comes to FORCE this world into surrendering to Him, He is calling upon men to VOLUNTARILY SURRENDER to His authority!

→ To go through the process of repentance and converting is to surrender ourselves to God’s Will UNCONDITIONALLY.

→ Even so, the occupying Holy Spirit does not come within us for the purpose of taking away our free moral agency. It won’t force us to do anything! It will only lead us in the right direction and give us added strength to follow its leading.

→ We COULD rebel again, and be at war again if we so choose. But if we continue to rebel, we will experience our FINAL defeat with no chance of surrender!  Let’s NOT choose that way! Rather follow God’s Spirit as it helps, directs and empowers us to practice our merciful Conqueror’s way of life!
3) Our faith is necessary
Let’s understand what part our own personal faith or belief has in repentance, and in receiving and continuing with the receiving of God’s Holy Spirit.

→ We are to believe with all our being that Jesus Christ gave Himself for our sins so He might deliver us from this present evil world and provide us access to the Father.
Galatians 1:3 Galatians 1:3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
American King James Version×
3Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, 4Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Ephesians 2:18 Ephesians 2:18For through him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
American King James Version×
18For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
Acts 20:21 Acts 20:21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.
American King James Version×
21Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

→ We are also to believe – and have faith in – Christ’s gospel message concerning the imminent establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth! (Mk 1:15), which obviously includes belief in Christ as our Savior and coming King. We must also repent to ultimately enter into that Kingdom!

But we must repent AND believe (Acts 2:38 Acts 2:38Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
American King James Version×
) with baptism being the outward sign of inward faith.

However, neither your repentance, or your belief can result in salvation! They are merely prior conditions.

→ When you supply these two conditions of repentance and personal faith, then God stands bound by His PROMISE to give you and continue to give you His Holy Spirit which imparts Christ’s righteousness and His faith. These are ingredients that “save” and ultimately result in ETERNAL LIFE!

→ It is not your faith in Christ – a faith YOU supply by believing in Him as Savior – that save you. It is Christ’s faith, which HE supplies and place in you by His Holy Spirit, which will ultimately save you! Notice this vital truth in your Bible.

→ We are saved through faith. BUT Who’s Faith?
Ephesians 2:8 Ephesians 2:8For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
American King James Version×
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Notice this particular faith is “not of yourselves”. This is another kind of faith.
The faith that really saves is GIVEN to us by God. You can’t supply or work it up.
We examine ourselves whether we are in the Faith, whether Christ is in us. (2 Corinthians 13:5 2 Corinthians 13:5Examine yourselves, whether you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know you not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except you be reprobates?
American King James Version×
).
John 8:292 John 8:292
American King James Version×
9And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him. His salvation was through the Father in whom He had complete confidence. That relationship was total, complete and utter trust in and reliance on His Father. Jesus submitted His will to His Father (John 6:38 John 6:38For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.
American King James Version×
).
John 17:55 John 17:55
American King James Version×
And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. He asked for no glory as a human being. He was obedient all the way to His death (Philippians 2:8 Philippians 2:8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.
American King James Version×
).
→ By whose faith are we justified or made blameless in the sight of God?
Galatians 2:16 Galatians 2:16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
American King James Version×
16Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

(((To prevent mankind from thinking they can save themselves, Paul had to point out that this was a special KIND of faith.
Ephesians 2:9 Ephesians 2:9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
American King James Version×
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.)))

→ It is this saving faith imparted to us through the Gift of the Holy Spirit which God promises to give us after we repent, believe and are baptized which causes salvation to be possible for humans.

Conclusion:   You must first repent and believe in Christ, as a condition, a prerequisite, in order that you may receive the faith OF Christ. His faith is placed miraculously within you by the Holy Spirit!
(Acts 2:38 Acts 2:38Then Peter said to them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
American King James Version×
38Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. )

How clear it becomes that there is really nothing we, of ourselves, can actually do to save ourselves! Yet we must comply with God’s conditions before He will set His hand to save us, our whole being – to God and His Word, and then trust Him by the Faith OF Christ to clean us up spiritually and ultimately give us eternal life.

Close: Something in the human nature will keep tempting one to reject this clear concept that WE are not able to be righteous or attain salvation by our works, and our rightness.

(Galatians 5:22 Galatians 5:22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
American King James Version×
22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, …)
WE are the only beings that WANT to war and be enemies with God – except Satan and his demons. To NOT join with them, we have to let go of deciding good and evil and taking the place of being “AS” God.

As Paul told true Christians to DO …Just give up self-validation, self-will, self-promotion and protection, self-ISH-ness. Believe and OBEY God. That is the true way to Salvation.

Galatians 2:202 Galatians 2:202
American King James Version×
0I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
